  1. Romans828, just go for it! In the long term it's worth it which I'm sure you know! I am 6 weeks out and am wearing a hat everywhere. Lucky enough I own my business so I can wear one there. None if my friends asked why I am wearing a hat yet, but I have been avoiding people so they don't keep seeing me in one. There will definitely be a period where you don't look good. Right now most of my redness has gone and I had most of the shedding already. So I don't look great but I know every day forward is an improvement. For me my biggest issue is a wedding that is 6 weeks away. That will be just under the three month mark. I'm not sure what my hair will look like and how to wear it. For you, if it's possible to say you went to a doctor for something and have to keep it covered, then you may feel a lot better being out. Again, 3 months down for the rest of your life, go for it.
  2. Maybe I can break up the wedding? ha ha Your hair looked similar to mine, I just looked at your pics. Mine was a little longer on the sides and front where it was not receding and I had a little bit more in the front. So mine will be a noticeable difference. I know long term and the big picture will be fine, just trying to figure out how to get by for the next three or four months.
  3. Hey Matt, Thanks for the response. So you are thinking of just cutting it down and however it looks, it looks? I also still have a lot of redness and some scabbing, so I am not quite ready to do that. I also really don't want to have the entire top look completely bald if I shed. I used to have hair there, but it was thinning. Now it will look completely empty until my old hair grows back, then the new hair. I am lucky that I can wear a hat to work, but the biggest thing I have is a wedding in a month and a half. That's what I want to look somewhat normal for. Have you found any info on expectations for this?
  4. I had a transplant 3 weeks ago and the surgery went fine. I am trying to figure out the best way to wear my hair in the near future, until my old hair grows back or the new ones come in. During my surgery, my hair was trimmed in the very front and I used to wear it about 2.5 inches to cover where it was receding and thinning. I still have the rest of it longer for now and have been wearing a hat. The top/front where the surgery was done looks like a buzz cut now and does go about 2 inches deep towards the back of my head in a triangle shape, where the work was done. If I knew that the new transplanted hair was not going to shed I could just cut the rest of my hair shorter and blend it. I do not want the scar in the back to show though. But my concern is that if I cut the rest of my hair and I start shedding the new hair I will look like I am balding really badly. Any suggestions on how to wear my hair? What expectations I should have of growth and hair loss? And how long my old hair should take to grow back in? I have a wedding in 1.5 months and that is my concern. On a daily basis now I am wearing a hat when I am in public. Thanks for any tips or suggestions.
