  1. How soon after hair transplant may I have SMP? Does SMP damage newly transplanted roots if there is a difference of less than 6 months after HT?
  2. First thing is that you are too young for HT. Wait for at least 3 more years. Second thing is that you should get your Norwood level and donor (head, beard and body) evaluated - you may post pictures of your donor area here after cutting your head donor to length of 1 inch or less. To me, it seems that you are between N5 and N6 now. Last, you can still have good results with HT provided that you do good research.
  3. So I infer that hair transplant from father to son or vice-versa has been attempted without success!
  4. Hey can you post more pictures showing your sides clearly? Initially while responding, I could not see the pictures of your sides. Now, since I have seen them, it seems to me that the sides are not that good.
  5. 2nd option sounds good - extractions from left side on first day and right side from 2nd day. If you find a surgeon who has been doing extractions with micro motor for a long time, it is not much of an issue. Clinics mostly charge on per graft basis. I do not understand the cost difference between first and second options though. Also, if cost is an issue, find bit inexpensive surgeons on this forum. Surgeons in Turkey and India are cheap as I have experienced. I recently had a HT with Kapil Dua from India whose FTR was 2-3 percent.
  6. 1. You are between NW 1 and 2. 2. I think that you should go for conservative hairline. Hairline of a person not suffering from baldness is usually 3 fingers (placed horizontally) above eye brows. If you see that it is 4 fingers in your case, you can go for 1200-1500 grafts. But I must again say that please be conservative. It is okay to have matured harline as you age. 3. Don't know. But what I see is that you have very good hair and you are a good candidate for HT. 4. If you mean nape hair, yes they can be used for frontal hairline and doctors prefer that. But if you are talking about thin hair at the very neck, you should not use them because they are body hair and they will also grow slow and curly like body hair - also any doctor will not advise you doing that. If you are bothered with neck hair, my cousin suggested me Philips IPL (some laser thing) for permanent hair reduction. It is very cheap and can be done at home. 5. Did not understand the question. 6. Don't know about 15% minox cream. I am from India and most people here use 5% percent minoxidil by Dr. Reddy's. 5% is sufficient. 7.Yes, most of them do. But even if they do not provide, it is not much of a cost. If someone tries to sell you such material for a high price and promising that it will supplement results of HT, they are lying! 8. I do not think so. Neither should you pay for it. Some clinics will lure into PRP also. If it comes free with HT (as some clinics offer), go for it as it may or may not help existing hair. Else do not go for PRP alone because it will not help you achieve what you want to achieve for your hairline - I am 100 percent sure.
  7. Is it possible to use your father's donor area? I think that the answer is No, but I still want to confirm. I have got baldness from my maternal side. My father has thick full head of hair. Irony with me is that I am Norwood 6 with retrograde alopecia.
  8. Yes, I am an Indian . What is the general opinion about wearing hair system on top of transplanted hair? Is there any theory that says that hair systems damage transplanted/native hair due to reduced exposure to oxygen, sunlight, etc.?
  9. I recently underwent a hair transplant of around 3k grafts. Since my bald area was pretty large, the results obtained from HT are very average to create illusion of hair. Until I have more money to go for another session of HT, I want to wear a hair system so that it can act as a filler. I won't prefer to wear hair system, but in our culture, absence of hair is really a stigma in your path to get married. My question is: does hair system cause any kind of damage to transplanted hair? I am 7 months post my hair transplant surgery.
  10. Want to ask one thing: when you do heavy workout in the gym, does the hair system cause any itching due to accumulation of sweat? And is possible to order hair system from another country and get it fixed from some stylist in your country?
  11. Hello Folks, can you guys name few good hair system manufacturing companies? I have very little knowledge about hair systems. Is it possible to get hair system shipped from some other country and get it fixed in your country?
  12. Folks, is there any update on hair cloning techniques? Have the trials on humans started? How are things going on?
  13. Hi Wylie, If it does not offend you, would you please post few pictures of your beard donor before any surgery and after all surgeries?
  14. Dude your donor area seems to be exceptional to me. Why won't you go for hair transplant? Anyway, nice work with SMP too!!
