Robbie Williams Update
BaldingBogger replied to sunsurfhair's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
find it hard to believe no surgeon would give him a transplant.. Have seen worse cases.. He must not have tried Turkey 😂 -
Looking good thus far. Best of luck with it. Ive seen some insanely good results from Couto in the past. Although they have always been on great candidates with super donor. No doubt he is world class. Its always great to hear the backstory how HT's can change your life situation and happiness. Particularly after a traumatic time in your personal life. For me it was a complete physical and spiritual rebirth i am still enjoying to this day!! All the best.

Dr. Lupanzula 2284 Grafts FUE - 21/09/2021 - 9 Months
BaldingBogger replied to victau's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Looks like an excellent result and you should see some thickening up of the grafts until 13-15 months for FUE. Id give it 18 months before going in again. I would possibly go for some temple points refinement but i would not lower the hairline any further. Sounds like high norwood baldness is in your family history. You are young and need to play the long game and keep your precious grafts as your crown could very possibly start thinning out in your 30's. My 2 cents anyway. -
Rule of thumb is once the scalp is healed and not irritated your good which should be 2-3 weeks. I gave it 6 weeks to be on safe side but i still say your good once your healed. As stated box dyes are generally midler than a bleach treatment which presumably you didn't have. Ive dyed last 2 transplants , just over a month out and no issues at all. Just need a cure now for grey hair , now that the baldness is sorted!!

Post Finasteride Syndrom
BaldingBogger replied to BaldReaper's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Human biology is extremely complex and unique to the individual. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Way way more than the official data have side effects but they are of varying severity and in many cases people don't even recognise them or just adjust to a new normal. Kind of like your hearing and eye sight going, it goes at a really slow pace and unnoticeable for a long time. I wasn't prepared to mess around with my hormonal endocrine system so ditched it after a few months many years ago. MY loss was pretty isolated so i replaced with transplants and the rest of my hair has remained strong so its been a good call in my case. But everyone is different and for some i recognise this stuff is holding their appearance of a full head of hair together. -

Keeping your hair post hair transplant
BaldingBogger replied to Icicle's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Transplanted hair if taken from the correct Donor area should last most of your adult life. If your hair all over thins out later in life, this will obviously affect any hair transplanted. With or without Finasteride. -

No question its a transplant. Meds can't do that alone -
Wouldn't panic just yet as it could be shedding for the transplant hair anyway. I had a huge shed at 18 months post op in transplanted area which freaked me out but it slowly grew back in. I've read it can be common for transplants to dip and shed around this time before 'resynchronization occurs and hair grows back at maximum calibre and thickness
-
If you are transplanting in a different area of scalp i would think there is less need to wait. However if you are evaluating the same area in Crown and midscalp to gauge whether or not you need more grafts in this area like the OP is, then i think it is prudent to wait up to 24 months for the full result to mature and grow in. Hair calibre maturation is a major factor when it comes to transplantation and the hair will become noticeably thicker over time as it cycles after it has broke through. Therefore you want to ensure you give yourself the full maturation period particularly as crown and midscalp areas take longer to mature. You don't want to implant in the same area that is still maturing (most Dr's won't anyway) so you don't waste grafts or adversely impact the original transplant.

i would wait till 20-24 months before rework on the crown. I had crown work and i observed improvements right up to 24 months in terms of thickening which made a perceived thinner area become 'Full' with no scalp visible as the hairs thickened. I have read the below statement from several hair transplant Dr's and i would agree with this particular for midscalp and crown areas. You don't want to use grafts where it may not be required It is not until 'normal' asynchronous hair follicle cycling begins at 18-24 months does hair become noticably thicker.

Andros Townsend playing in the EPL has one of the more impressive results I have seen. He was badly going/gone and probably was worse than this before pic all in all. Not sure who he went too
