  1. Do you guys think if I switch from Rogaine foam twice to once day, I will lose the transplanted hair as well? Do you think Rogaine foam once a day is fine? Patriot, I was asking about the transplanted hair that get pulled while combing after Rogaine application. Rogaine foam make my hair really hard and stiff and when I comb through my hair, I easily lose 50-60 hair. These transplanted hair gone for good as well? I want to know how should treat my transplanted hair? I used Rogaine foam for 4 months twice a day. Will I lose transplaned hair if I switch to once a day application. Please help guys! Much appreciated!
  2. Hey Shampoo, Thank you for your reply. The issue is I have been using Roagine foam for 4 months twice a day. Now I am concerned that I will lose the hair I gained or lose whatever little density I have if I switb to once a day. What are your thoughts on that? Have you switched from twice a day to once/nightly application? Do you if we slick our hair back with a comb after gel or rogaine foam, when they are stiff and hard the pulled out hair will grow back? Or if we omb the transplanted hair when wet is it harmful?
  3. Hi, thank you for your reply. I guess what I wanted to ask was the transplanted hair that have grown back - if I comb them wet, pull them out while combing after Roagine foam application? Or, they get pulled out when I style my hair, will these transplanted hair grow back? I was not asking about the hair that are affected by androgenetic alopecia. Please let me know.Any styling tips?
  4. Hi guys, I just had a few questions with regards to styling of transplanted hair. Can you guys please go through these questions and help me with these? - I am 9 months post op and have some moderate success after my surgery. I have started using Rogaine foam, but I am having a tough time using it. Every time I massage it in my hair I break/lose alot of hair. Will these broken hair grow back? Or are these gone for good? After putting Rogaine in my hair, my hair looks like crap and extremely thin. Any tips how can I style my hair after using Rogaine foam. - I put in Rogaine foam and when it is wet I comb my hair and while doing that I pull out alot of hair. Will these pulled out hair grow back? Any styling tips? Please let me know. Thanks, HairGreed
  5. Cool. Thanks John. One last thing, when can I start operating my lawn-mower, vaccum, machinery etc. post op without the risk of graft damage?
  6. I meant 1 month post op not immediately after the surgery.
  7. All, I had a quick question- When is it it absolutely safe for me to sleep normally after HT? I am worried about rolling my head from the pillow on the mattress, costant rubbing of transplanted area against the pillow/mattress and also the twistings and turnings while sleeping. When do I not worry about ruining my transplant while sleeping?
  8. Hey Guys, I have been reading alot of posts asking about a recommended shampoo post HT. All I have been reading is you can use anything. I wanted to change it up a bit and ask each and every one of you to just mention which shampoo did you use after your HT. Now I am not asking about the shampoo you have used for 2 weeks post-op. I am asking about the normal shampoo that you started using 2-3 weeks post you HT. It would be helpful for others if we can list the names so that they know what is tried and tested. Hopefully all of you guys would chip in. Thanks guys.
  9. You will not lose the transplanted hair as they are not susceptible to DHT. But the native hair around the transplanted hair will be gone.
  10. Well, if that is the case the everything that we eat today has a potential to do permanent damage, we are still eating right? There is no doubt risk associated with it, but you will have to test to see under which category you will fall. If you do see side-effecta stop taking the drug and you will be back to where you were. Trust me dude, if you are really that paranoid do NOT get on the drugs at all. Psychological aspect is a big thing to consider, sometimes people just assume they have the side-effects. My advice, get in touch with your doctor and ask him/her how safe is the drug. Do NOT anyone's word for it, including me. You should just use these forums for information purposes and you should always get in touch with a doctor before you get on a drug.
  11. Sorry about finding a doctor, I missed that. I will suggest you should get assesed by a hair expert, regular doctor may not be the best option for you.
  12. In my opinion, stay away from low level therapy. I wouldn't recommend such a commitment for marginal benefits. If you are really serious about saving your hair, which I do think you are, then big three is the way to go. You would not know how your body reacts to the medication until you start using them. Keep one thing in mind, the more you delay the more you lose. It is relatively easy to maintain then regrow. I am not a doctor, I am giving you this information based on personal experience.
  13. Hey man, You have 3 options 1) Get on the big three (finasteride, rogaine and Ketaconazole). Seriously, people have been on finasteride for long times and it isa safe drug. Obviously, take it under your doctor's monitoring, if you are thst concerned. - Finasteride - Start with .25mg and work your way upto 1mg. - Rogaine - Use the foam, you will see people say liquid is the same, but personally I have seen better results with foam anf it is much easier to usr the foam. - Ketaconazole - Nizoral 2% shampoo, not more than twice a week. Seriously, use it more than twice a week at your own risk. I have seen accelarated shedding and dryness with more than twice a week use. 2) If you are over 25 and you think your hair loss has stablized then you can start researching on getting an HT. You will see plenty of information on this forum and people here are generally very knowledgeable and helpful. 3) If you can shave it and forget about then it is the best option. I cannot do I, but if you can more power to you. Now, before you start leaning towards the 2nd option, you may want to start on the 1st option, because you may be abke to get 5-10 years on drugs alone. If you do want to skip option 1 and go straight with option 2, you may be put on finasteride to maintain your existing hair. Sorry for the long reply, just wanted to give you as much information as possible.
