Hello all, Just had a quick question hope someone can help me out with. I have been on Minoxidil 5% for a year now, after five months or so people were telling me my hair was thickening up. I soon noticed as well. My dermatologist said it was harsh on your skin and gave me a script for propecia which I have been taking for 12 weeks. My question: I want to stop the minoxidil because of the aging of my forehead. If I stop but keep using propecia what will happen? More specifically: Will I lose hair grown by minoxidil without the propecia growing it back? Does propecia regrow hair as well preventing further loss? Will the propecia prevent the hair grown with minoxidil from falling out in the first place? --- I would assume (optimistically) this would be the case because proepcia blocks dht but I also dont know the mechanics behind minoxidil and if the 'cessation caused hair shedding' is a result of dht or not. Any info would be helpful, I have already read a lot about the science on the net. If anyone could tell me from experience that would be great! Also just to point out for those in doubt: I was 25 years old and my hair was thinning at the front, I used minoxidil 5% and hair loss stopped completely and regrew significantly, however MY side effect, and only side effect, was wrinkles in the forehead which defeats the purpose of stopping hair loss.
