  1. Hello guys,

I have a procedure with Hattingen Hair in Schaffhausen, Switzerland on Nov 15th. Like an idiot I’ve waited till now to book my hotel and it’s looking like the only hotels left are “Pet Friendly” rooms. I sent a email to Dr. Muresanu just now but I won’t hear back from him until the morning and I feel like I need to book a hotel room asap.

How do you guys feel about having a fut and then staying in a room where pets have been in that room previously?

    Thanks for all your help!!!
    B

Thank you for the replies. I should mention that I had one procedure done prior in the States somewhere i wont mention but will say that it was a plastic surgeons office on the North East Coast that primarily did other cosmetic surgeries and very little Hair transplants. The procedure was done July 2018 and was roughly 1,000 grafts via FUT. I had very poor results so I immediately started planning my next procedure and wanted to be sure i had it done with the best clinic i could find. So this procedure with Hattingen Hair Clinic was not only a 5,000+ graft megasession but was also a repair job as well.

Everything looks great, very clean. I also believe you have chosen an amazing clinic. I had my first Fut with Dr. Rahal and my 2nd will be at Hattingen Hair Clinic (Dr. Sever & Dr. Laura Muresanu) on November 15th, 2019. I would believe we think alike, but what made you decide on Hattingen Hair? Are you from the U.S. as well? Wishing you the best!

    1) Anti Androgen medication - Finasteride or Dutasteride

    2) A good shampoo such as the coal tar variety or nizoral.

    3) Minox / Rogain Foam

    4) Research micro-needling & do that on area's of the scalp with weakness.

I think its about time we start giving micro-needling a bit more respect & credibility. There have been some incredible results highlighted recently & I myself have had some good early results with it.

I've also started derma rolling recently and getting a fut with Hattingen Clinic in November. Do you happen to know how long after the ht happens before I can start derma rolling again? Thank you!

  4. Hi guys - I just wanted to let everyone know after all the research and consultations, I’ve made my final decision for a FUT with Dr. Muresanu at Hattingen Hair Clinic in Switzerland on November 15th, 2019! I can’t begin to explain how confident and excited I am with this decision! I will be making a separate post before too long so I can share more details, share my progress once I have the hair transplant, and chat about my more recent experiences with dermarolling, minoxidil, and soon to be finasteride. Thanks so much for all your support!

  5. I’m in the same situation. I do believe once you start back up with Rogaine that you should start to regrow some hairs, or at least help miniaturizing hairs become stronger, etc. You should also look into adding in a Derma rolling session once a week or so. Best of luck!

You got some good choices listed.  Pretty tough list to choose from.  Definitely weigh the pros and cons of each.  Review their surgical protocol.  Review grafts estimates.  See if you can meet non clinic presented patients—- maybe forum members of each?

Hope you get the adequate restoration goals you desire with the doc you pick.  Hope you get a result so that you do not have to search again and can be at peace. Best best wishes.

Thank you very much, Sean! I’m just getting started with consultations and agree this is a tough list to choose from. Thanks again!

Anyway...back to the topic in hand...

The Belgium docs do less and less FUT these days. They still do strip sometimes, notably Devroye, but FUE is their bread and butter. Same with Konior. Personally, and with no hidden agenda, I would choose H&W for FUT. For the record I have had approx 4350 FUE with Feriduni.

Thank you @Baldrick101 - Appreciate your recommendation! I had caught wind recently that a 2 or 3 of those surgeons aren’t doing as many FUT’s these days. Are you pretty happy with your FUE result from Feriduni?

    Hello,

I've been to Hattingen Hair twice. I had a large area to transplant, with very thin caliber donor hair . For me the realistic advice, the objective assessment, the results and the aftercare were very important. Pictures say more than words.

Thanks for posting. That is an amazing result! You went from no hair to full coverage and I can see why you recommend Hattingen. This is encouraging to me because my donor hair is also a thin caliber. Thanks again for sharing and congratulations!

I think that using your available scalp donor for the frontal zone and beard hair for the midscalp as fillers would be more than sufficient. With an FUE only maybe. And also maybe use medications to stop further progression if there is any?  Why are you planning to go for another FUT prior to an FUE? Is it because you don't want to use your beard hair for the transplantation?

Thank you for your recommendation. I haven’t had a FUE before, just a FUT with Rahal. I’m planning on another FUT since I’m not worried about a scar and want to save a FUE procedure’s for down the road.

All good options. Do you have before & after pictures with your procedure with Rahal? I'm going with Hattingen in November, so I'm biased. But all good options.

Thanks for the feedback man and happy to hear you have a date scheduled with Hattingen! If you don’t mind, what made you decide on Hattingen and do you live in the US? Will this be your first HT?

    Hi there,

Welcome. Dr Rahal is an excellent choice too so might be worth discussing your previous case to. Regarding your questions about other surgeons. You are pretty much looking at the Harlem Globe Trotters there and ALL excellent surgeons who've proven to be very consistent with FUT ands FUE

Try meet with as many as you can in person or speak to them via spoke etc and get a feel for them. I know a few of the personal and they are very caring, skilful ethical surgeons.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

    Regards

    Spex,

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to me! Also, thanks for all you’ve done for all of us hair loss sufferers over the years. Even though I have way more to learn, I’ve learned quite a bit from you already.

I will do my best to speak to them and get a feel for them as well.

    Appreciate you!

  12. Hello Hello,

I had a FUT with Rahal back in 2013 and received 2949 grafts. Based on your feedback and my research, I've decided another FUT is best before I start going the FUE route. I'm in the process of submitting my online consultation forms with these surgeons. Hopefully soon I will know their recommendations.

Any pros and cons you can share on these elite surgeons? Thank you in advance for all of your help!

  13. I agree that your hair loss is minimal and you are going into a HT at a young age, but I know you've made up your mind and I totally get it. Been there. I think Bisanga is excellent and I'm about to request for a online consultation. Are you planning on doing a FUT or FUE with Bisanga? Will you be traveling far for your HT with Bisanga? Best of luck man!

Thank you for this. I'm fully prepared to do what I have to do. Thankfully I've learned to continue enjoying life and just be happy in my current situation, even though that involves wearing a hat EVERYWHERE LOL. Regardless, I know I'll feel better getting a hair transplant. Thanks!

@Jacuzzi - Have you made any decisions on clinics? I’m interested to see who you are most interested in.

Ok I had a look , the results are good even if I am not super impressed by the quality of the donor scars , at least on the pictures I saw .

Now , due to my history with HT , I am more looking for a repair rather than anything else . I have already done 4 HTs and at this point I would need

    - hairline reshaping at the current one was place too low and is too agressive

    - one of the donor scar revision

    - fill up top scalp towrds the crown keeping in mind I am a diffuse thinner and this area is currently occupied with natural hairs ..

really I dont know who to go for . I will try to plan a face to face consult with Haittingen and see what they are telling me

    thanks

How many grafts do you think you'll need? I would think since you've had 5 FUT's already that your laxity can't be awesome. I do agree with @harry_potter1 that you should do as many FUT's as possible and then start doing FUE since you've already started with FUT. I've also been researching H & W, Hattingen, and Devroye, among a couple others like Feriduni, Bisanga, Freitas, and Lorenzo and I live in the United States.

If your laxity isn't that great, you might want to consider doing a combo surgery of FUT and FUE in one session. I feel this is something you don't hear about often. I know for sure Hattingen and Devroye do this. Keep us updated and best of luck!
