  1. Hi Bill, thanks for your response. Just because I don't post on the forum doesn't mean that I don't frequent the forum and read it. It also doesn't mean I'm doing promotional posts etc because I choose to post my experience with the surgeon being discussed in the thread. Ive attached a photo from my surgery and my after that I have on my computer. I think my previous photos should be still archived on this forum. It's too late in the night for me to start digging up pics. I also prefer not to post my face. My entire hairline was advanced I think more than an inch. Again, I don't condone or agree with not using photos that are not your work. However, I don't find that photo on the site. For all we know the site could have been developed by an outside company and put up and then removed during review by the doctor and his staff. There can always be more to a story and what I didn't like was seeing a good doctor that spent so much time with me, doing my surgery, and helping me with an emotional aspect of my life (my hair) being called a hack etc. You may want to check out this article: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2013/01/05/decision-saves-boys-life/1811295/ "When an ambulance arrived, Yazdan insisted on continuing to perform CPR and ride in the ambulance to the ER" Seems like a pretty stand up guy to me. Lets not be so quick to rush judgement and attack doctors and other members of a forum. At the end of the day we are all here, battling hair loss, and need good doctors to help us.
  2. Well your response speaks volumes regarding your character. I was merely sharing my experience regarding a doctor that helped me and close friends of mine. An online forum such as this is to exchange information, not attack other members. I prefer not to lower myself to your level and argue with an idiot online. As the saying goes..."Entertain a clown and you become part of the circus" Cheers Mate
  3. I came across this thread recently even though its old. I read this forum but don't post a whole lot. I had a hair transplant back in 2013 with Dr. Yazdan which I documented on this forum. My results after a year were way better than I had expected. Through the entire year and all my visits Dr. Yazdan was awesome. He was also the only doctor I saw that discussed medical management options with me and didn't just try to "sell" me a hair transplant. Since my surgery I have seen him yearly and I have had 3 close friends have surgeries done by him all with great results. Although I can't find this photo on his website, I think part of the issue is that most doctors have an outside company build their website for them and the company ends up using stock pictures etc. and it ends up on the internet. That photo seems to be a filler image on a header. Not in the actual "before & after section" in which for example my before and after results are. I don't agree with stolen photos, etc but calling a good surgeon a hack because of a photo in the background of a header on a website I find a little extreme especially since this surgeon did wonders for my hair. I will definitely bring this up with him when I go in for my next office visit in a few months.
  4. It's a long road ahead of you but just be optimistic and I'm sure your results will start to show very soon!
  5. 1,750 grafts. Dr. Yazdan used this graft counter that allowed me to see exactly how many grafts were being inserted. This way I knew I was getting the amount of grafts he had promised me.
  6. So its been about three and a half months since my surgery. My grafts are growing in quite nicely and they are almost as long as the rest of my hair (which is pretty long). My survival rate and density show more and more as time progresses. My donor area is healed and I am just amazed at how painless and easy this procedure really was for me! I've attached pics for everyone who wants to see.
  7. I got my FUE procedure with Dr. Yazdan at the Modena Hair Transplant Institute. I must say, my results have been great. My donor area healed in no time and my hair line looks very natural. My survival rate was great, nothing but good things to say on this end! Dr. Yazdan was awesome, and always reachable pre and post surgery. Anyway, the main reason for this forum post is because I feel like a minor celebrity. Dr. Yazdan has a demo video of his FUE Hair Transplant procedure and my Hair Transplant is being featured. I decided to share this with you all, because I don't think my Facebook friends would truly appreciate it Here's the link: Video removed by moderator - See Terms of Service)
  8. I contacted my doctor (Dr. Yazdan) and asked him about this because ewe had decided to go with the FUE procedure for my hair transplant, which is scheduled for next week. He told me that they may initially be a little thinner and the survival rate of FUE is slightly less than strip because with strip when they dissect the grafts they leave the gland intact as much as possible but with FUE thre is no control to do that. So at first the hairs can be a little thinner and weaker but at one point, with time, they will become the same. That's just to answer your question, but he still recommended that the FUE is the best method for me based on everything he has seen. Hope that helps!
  9. I think that even the one procedure will probably help (pictures are still needed) so I say go for it, and worry about saving up again when the time comes!
  10. Just to clarify, the larger the procedure, the longer one has to wait before they use toppik and gel?
  11. Thanks everyone! I went for my consultation today and it went really well! Dr. Yazdan showed me some pictures and a video about the procedure. I found the video on youtube if anyone wants to take a look, it's really informative: I was really happy with everything at this doctors office but since it was still one of my first appointments I think I want to go to another consultation. I was looking into Dr. Zeiring. I'll look into the other doctors that 1978matt has suggested too, and make a decision from there! Keep you guys updated. Thanks!
  12. Sam, I was wondering if you are still experiencing some swelling from the FUE method, and how bad would you say the swelling is?
  13. Cartesian, How large was the scar from your first surgery?
  14. Hello! I am a 43 year old male and I have been losing my hair for about 3 years now. I recently decided that I want to go through with a hair transplant and I have been trying to gather as much research as possible regarding the procedure. I have a consultation scheduled with Dr. Yazdan at the Modena Hair Transplant Institute in Irvine, Ca. for a few days from now. What are some good questions to ask and what should I look for? What is considered a reasonable price per graft for the strip and FUE method? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
