  1. Hey Guys, I'm 22 and at the point where I'm just unbelievably frustrated by my hairloss. I can't get a hairtransplant yet because I'm too young but it's getting to a point where I'm becoming obsessed. Therefore I'm going to do something drastic to fix the problem. I'm thinking shaved head, mohawk, mini mohawk, buzz cut. Anyone have any suggestions based on my photos. Your opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

  3. This is the most discouraging stat I've ever heard. I hope it's incorrect!
  4. Hey Guys, Has anyone ever experienced regrowth or at least a sustained hairline after using Rogaine. My main problem is that I'm thinning in my frontal regions, an area that Rogaine claims it can't fix. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the treatment working for them in this area and to what extent.
  5. Hey bllorayne, My advice is to stay away from laser hair treatments all together. I learned the hard and expensive way that they DO NOT WORK... in my opinion of course.
  6. Hey Kingentering, I'm in the same boat as you. I have a receding hairline and I'm 22. My best advice is to definitely get on Propecia and Rogain, that's what I've done and so far I feel it has slowed down the process. If you can get to a point where your hairloss stabilizes then you could think about getting a hair transplant, but as others have said it doesn't look like you are there yet in terms of hairloss. Check out my bio, I'm on track right now to get a hairtransplant probably within 1 year or so. Lots of people on this blog have said I don't need one or that I should wait, let me stress the decision is yours. Take your time, do tons of research, get on medication, then make the right decisions for YOU.
  7. hey everyone, I wanted to get in on the conversation because I think more than anything people in the 20-25 age range need a PLAN rather than a momentary solution. I'm 22, receding hairline since i was about 18. Unbelievably frustrated by almost all of the products I've used. I was snaked into laser hair therapy which promised to not only stop my hairlose in its tracks but to actually lower my hairline. That was a 4000 dollar mistake which i will never make again. DO NOT FALL FOR LASER HAIR THERAPY IT DOESN'T WORK! I've found propecia to be a stabilizing medication but that's about it. I also plan on going back onto Rogain just to see if it will help out. I am thinking of waiting about 1 year then reassessing whether Propecia and Rogain has had any affect. If it has stabilized my hair loss I am going under the knife. And thanatopsis_awry your hair looks sweet now! Cheers,
  8. Alright I guess I need to stop whining haha! My hairloss is still going to bother me because it seems like such a short time ago I had the lushish locks I thought I would have my entire life. As we all know somethings just aren't ment to last. Thanks again everyone for posting! I've also added a few more photos to my blog so check it out so you can see the damage in all it's entirety.
  9. Hey everyone thanks alot for your comments, I really appreciate it. Just hearing that it isn't so bad makes me feel better. I think my age and the solid hairlines of my friends affects the way I view my own hairloss. To answer hairthere's question, my family has a history of hairloss on both sides, my brother who is 25 has significant male pattern hairloss, so does my father. On my mothers side her brother is basically a bowling ball. The main reason I've considered a hairtransplant this early, as well as other treatments, is the state of my brothers hair. Both his hair and my hair were extremely thick, then without warning he went from being 20 with hair to 25 without. Also, how I have my hair styled in my photo is how I've always styled my hair, I've never liked short hair and I was under the impression that longer hair would mean better coverage. I just had my hair cut short and my thinning frontal hairline is less noticeable since I've turned it into a mini mohawk. So I guess if a hairtransplant sounds like it would be a mistake can anyone recommend anything that would help to thicken the hair I currently have. I am taking propecia, and I think I am going to go back onto rogain but is there anything else. Shampoos, special gels, hair spray? That way I could hopefully hold off for a few years. Thanks,
  10. Hi everyone, First let me say I hope I am posting this correctly as it is my first "Topic". If I'm not don't hesitate to correct me. I am like many of the other young men I've read about over the last few months. I understand the split in opinions regarding hair transplants in men below 25, however, like most I've gotten to the point where my hairloss has consumed me, and I'm tired of living with it. View my blog to see my current hairline. I'm financially secure and I could afford the surgery, which Dr. Rahal quoted at 2000 grafts and around $8,000. I have extremely dense hair on the sides and back of my head and I am not at all bothered by the idea of multiple procedures later on in my life if need be. I've had some success with propecia which I am currently on. I saw the positive results of it unfortunately after I stopped using it in exchange for Laser Hair Therapy, which in my opinion obliterated my front hairline. So that's my story. Check out my blog and let me know what you think. Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.

  12. Hi, I'm only 22 myself and I've also exhausted chemical solutions to hair loss. Keep me posted on your progress, I am very interested to see a case of someone in my age range.
