  3. Hi folks, A Warning and my own experience: In Dec of 04 I had a transplant with Dr Shapiro in Minneapolis. Awesome job! Anyway, the good Dr put me on Propecia a few months before the surgery (I don't recall how long exactly) and I thought the cost was very reasonable, so I was happy to get it through his office. Eventually though, the price began to rise, and as a long time supporter of generic drugs, I began to look around and see where I could find it cheaper. I have no problem looking elsewhere for the same product"???as long as it IS the same product. Eventually I found a source called Super Saver Meds (http://www.supersavermeds.com/) I looked into it, and discovered Cipla was their source for finasteride (Finpecia is their name for it) and after taking the time to confirm Cipla was a reliable and trustworthy source, and me feeling pretty good about it, I began purchasing propecia from Super Saver Meds. Everything was fine and eventually I nopticed that there was virtually no shedding of any hair at all, so I was quite pleased and thought between the surgery and propecia, I had resolved my hairloss issues. Then In July of this year (after buying from Super Saver for 2 years) the shipment I ordered was a different shaped and colored pill. Now, that alone doesn't mean anything, especially since they were generics, but it did raise a red flag so to speak, so I contacted Super Saver Meds and they assured that the finpecia came from a different supplier but 100% assured me the product was good. Well, I thought, after 2 years of reliable service, I trusted their word. Well guess what happened... toward the end of September while looking in a mirror with overhead lights, I saw what happens when you stop taking propecia: my hair thinned out substantially L. My heart sank and over the next few days I looked in every mirror in every lighting condition to be sure that it wasn't a play of light...and it wasn't...my hair had thinned substantially. I contacted Super Saver Meds and really chewed them out and of course they claimed the product was good but if I was unhappy they'd send a new batch (like I'd trust them again??) About a month later they did send a new batch, but that was irrelevant"???I was done with them. After an exchange of emails in which I seriously expressed my displeasure, frustration and anger at how they screwed me, I received an email yesterday informing me they were crediting my account for the last purchase. As of today I haven't seen the credit to my account, though. Within days of my realizing my hair had thinned, I called the good Dr, explained the situation, got a scrip for propecia and started getting it again here in the states. I also started using nizoral and minoxidil. After taking it since September, I only just noticed hairs starting to regrow in the last few days. From now on, I'm only getting my propecia from within the States; Proscar and dividing to save costs. Hopefully the damage isn't permanent, but only time will tell. I just wanted to share my experience with you guys so you have a little more info to go on. Good luck, T.S.
  4. Someone help me out here-- I thought Nizoral was for dandruff? You guys are saying to use it to help stop hair loss? Thanks. TS
  5. Hi all, I'm new to this board, so forgive any newbie errors. All the pics I've seen on the various pages are all gents with short/shaved hair. Has anyone with long hair posted pics? Does the head have to be shaved to have the procedure done? Thanks
