  1. I agree with you that telogen hair was not the sole reason for multiples in the hairline. I admit that mistakes were made, which is the reason we changed the procedure.
  2. We have always tried to implant singles in the hairline- it is the process that has changed. Because we use implanter pens, in the past we used the red (0.8mm) pens for singles and the blue (1.0mm) for multiples. This way I knew while I was implanting which pens had singles. The problem with this plan is that with the speed we implant it is easy for the technicians to not see clearly which grafts were true singles and which grafts may have telogen hairs that looked like singles but were actually multiple hair grafts. By forcing them to separate out 300 of the finest caliber true singles on each hairline case we are much more confident that only true singles with low caliber are going into the hairline.
  3. His procedure was in Feb 2022, before we made the change. The redness is most likely due to ingrown hairs, which are more common with many multiple hair grafts.
  4. Although it is not typical for our results, this is not the first time we have received feedback about inadvertent multiple hair grafts in the hairline. For this reason at the beginning of this year we changed our procedure that for all hairline cases we separate out 300 of the finer single hair grafts to go into the anterior hairline. Of course for all patients previous to this who have noticed multiple hair grafts in the hairline we offer to front the hairline with single hair grafts at no charge to the patient. This is an example of how being part of this forum has changed our practice for the better.
  5. Accutane can interfere with graft survival- so the recommendation is be off of it for 6 months prior to the procedure, and not take it again until the one year post-op mark when grafts have fully grown in.
  6. This 38 year old patient came in last week for his 6 month follow up after receiving 2000 FUE grafts to his frontal forelock/hairline. All grafts were harvested and placed by the physician.
  7. This patient came in last week for his 6 month follow up after receiving 2500 FUE grafts to his frontal forelock and hairline. His hair loss is stable so he is not taking finasteride. All grafts where harvested and placed by the physician.
  8. He is planning on a second procedure for his crown, just trying to work out when he is available.
  9. This 42 year old male came in this week for one year post-op visit after receiving 2500 FUE grafts to his frontal forelock and hairline. He is considering a second procedure for his crown. Hair pattern has been stable for 5-6 years and he is not taking finasteride. All grafts were harvested and placed by the physician.
  10. This patient came in this week for his 6 month follow up after receiving 2000 FUE grafts into his vertex (crown). He is not on finasteride due to stable hair loss pattern. All grafts harvested and placed by the physician.
  11. This 35 year old male came in for his one year follow up after receiving 3000 FUE grafts to his mid-scalp, frontal forelock, and hairline. All grafts were harvested and placed by the physician.
  12. This patient came in for his 9 month follow up after receiving 5000 FUE grafts over a two consecutive day session. 2000 grafts were focused in his crown, and 3000 grafts were used in his frontal forelock/hairline. All grafts were harvested and placed by the physician.
  13. This 48 year old patient came in this week for his one year follow up after receiving 4000 FUE grafts over a two consecutive day session. 1600 grafts were focused in the vertex, and 2400 grafts were used in the frontal forelock/hairline. All grafts were harvested and placed by the physician.
  14. This patient came in today for his 6 month follow up after receiving 2500 FUE grafts into his frontal forelock and hairline. His hair loss has been stable for over 10 years, and he had a benign lesion removed a few days before surgery. We grafted close to the suture line but wanted to leave enough room to have the sutures removed without disturbing the grafts. All grafts were harvested and placed by the physician.
