  1. Thanks for the help and answers! So, am I right in thinking that I'm probably only seeing about 30-40% of the final density right now, being 4.5 months out?
  2. Yep, I know that on our normal head of hair, each strand is in its own specific cycle ... But for the transplanted hair, their cycle has been pretty much "synchronized", no? Because ~2 weeks after surgery, they all fall out more or less together. So shouldn't this mean that they all grow in together, as well? Why are some growing now at 4 months, while a bunch others are still resting, if they all went into resting phase together? What worries me is that I AM at 4-5 months post-op, and I can still see the line even on a #3 buzz. I knew I wouldn't be able to do a #1, but a #3 is fairly long and I'm shocked that it can be visible at this length. Will this get better?
  3. Hi all. I had my procedure done with True & Dorin in middle of July of this year, so I'm about 4.5 months out. It was a 1000 graft FUT procedure to the hairline. Right now, I have growth in the entire area, and most hairs are 0.5 - 1.0 inch in length. I can clearly see the hairline Dr Dorin created. However, while there is a ton of growth I didn't have before, I can't say that I'm completely satisfied, because I still don't have the appearance of 100% coverage in that area. I've read and heard lots of people say that at 4.5 months out, I will probably only have 30-40% growth, and I won't see full results until 12 months out. First, am I accurate with that statement? Also, I'm wondering - why is that? If follicles rest for 2-3 months, and all the transplanted follicles all go into rest period around the same time (~2 weeks after procedure), shouldn't all the follicles start growing back at the same time, thereby giving you full results in 4-5 months? Why does it take 12-18 months to see full results? What's the reasoning behind it? Finally, I have a few other questions. I have tons of itching in the recipient and surrounding areas. Is this because of nerves growing back? Also, I trim my hair with a #3 attachment, and the scar in the back is pretty visible. Will the hair there grow back eventually, or am I stuck like this?
  4. Thanks for the tip! As I said, I'm really worried that being 2 weeks off Rogaine will ruin a lot of what I've done over the past 8 years. Is there any truth to this? I don't want to have new hair only to ruin the hair I've been maintaining for the past 8 years - kind of like two steps forward, one step back.
  5. Hey everyone - I'm new to this community and glad to say I had my procedure yesterday at True & Dorin in NYC! I had a quick question regarding Rogaine. I've been using it for the past 8 years, and it has done a good job of maintaining hair. Obviously, with the HT, I can not use it now, and it's really worrying me because I know that when you stop using Rogaine for a while, there can be quite a shed and I'm afraid it will cause me to lose hair. My question is, how long should I stay off it before I can start up again? 1 week? 2 weeks? Any advice would be useful Thanks!
  6. I'm not an expert, but I don't see any hair loss? You don't have super thick hair to begin with, it looks like. I think that's just your natural hair density. Don't forget that for many people, hair does start to thin out a bit naturally in the 20s / 30s, but it's natural and doesn't indicate any problems. Are you sure you are losing hair?
  7. 9 years ago, when I was 23, I began receding, and immediately started a regimen of Propecia, Rogaine and Spironolactone. I have been following this regimen religiously since then, and have been able to maintain / strengthen. Now, at 32, I would like to fill in the small amount of hair I lost back then. I would say I need to bring my hairline down about 1-2cm in order to have a full, "normal" head of hair. Can anyone recommend for me some good doctors in the NJ / NY area? Also, is FUE the best option? Would I have to shave my head, or would I be able to keep my hair at its current length (~1.5"). Is it possible to do this kind of surgical procedure without anyone knowing? For example, if I get the procedure done on a Thurs or Fri, and stay home all weekend, would it be not noticeable by Monday? Thank you for any / all info!
