  1. Hi HairyPotter, Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. What is the clinic/doctor name in India that gave you this bad result? This will helps others!
  2. Hello all, Its been a while I visited this site as I was pretty busy with my daily work schedule and travel. Here are all of my post op pics till 9 months post op. I developed a keloid on the scar, which after my 1yr post op will be treated by Dr. Ron. I have attached my 1 MONTH POST OP pics below:
  3. @Arrie Thanks.....its the wait game now!! @StaggerLee123 Yeah it is.....good that I'm able to cover my scar well with concealer. The credit also goes to the hair stylist at Sports clip, she gave a pretty nice look to make my hair look even

  5. I started my day to the office at 25th day mark thinking that I might have to reveal about my surgery if I am showing off any traces of it; but contrary to my expectation I was surprised that people who sit next to me had no idea about my HT at all or rather they don't care about what happened to me. In the beginning, I was little hesitant on showing off my scar even with the concealer that I used. I keep looking at the mirror to check if everything is in place but after passing one or two days in the office everything was as normal as before. I have just told everybody that I had a buzz cut for a change and no questions asked whatsoever. I just thought to myself that I would give a damn of what people think about my current ugly duckling phase I am going through. So except for the exposure under direct sunlight, I stopped wearing a hat at all. Also I decided to not spend a lot of time in front of the mirror (max 3 times a day ) till the end of 3rd month. Reason for writing all this is, for the people who worry too much after HT can take this as an example that HT is NOT A BIG DEAL!!
  6. I got my staples removed at Dr Cooley's clinic in charlotte, NC. To be honest I did experience bit pain but was very relieved after getting them off my head. Started applying aloe vera gel before bed for relief and faster healing.
  7. That's a great work......happy growing!!
  8. Thanks for your response Dr. Glenn M. Charles. I finally got Toppik at a Hair Restoration center here in NC. I tried to get dermmatch at Walmart and other stores too but the product is available online only. Since I have a party this weekend and hardly have any time to order online, I brought toppik. I was little hesitant on its use on the donor scar because of the angle of its use on the sides and back; but its not that difficult of application and works wonders with Toppik fiberhold spray. Overall I'm able to hide the scar pretty well for now.
  9. Hello Everyone, I am 22 days post op and I had a hair cut today. I tried to even out the size of my hair on the sides and back matching the hair at recipient area; but as expected my wide donor scar (especially on the sides) got revealed now. I read some of the posts regarding the dermmatch use to hide the scar. Is is safe to use it on the healing scar? Will it cause any infection or irritate the scar? Your inputs are highly appreciated!
  10. I am taking MSM1500mg 2 tablets a day which I brought at GNC store. I just started today and planning on taking for 2 months to see how it works on growing hair faster. I will keep you updated on the results.
  11. Hello Everyone! Sharing some of my 3rd day post op pics under the day light. At this time I am finding a slight pain at the donor area, little discomfort because of staples. But besides that everything else looks fine. Today was the 6th day and I don't see much or very little redness on my scalp.

  14. @SADbutTRUE, Thanks Man. Dr Ron worked just below the hair line spreading through midscalp region. @StaggerLee123, Thanks @thincity Yes the DVD I got on the post-op care instructions was very informative. I am healing pretty well. Had slight bleeding on the donor site the night after surgery and its now stopped completely. I checked on of this link Dr. Ron Shapiro 7 Months Result-Strip -3441gr/7572hairs - Dr. Ron Shapiro - Doctors section, Click on a Doctors name to view their results - Hairloss Experiences Hairloss Forum. If this was your its really an amazing transformation.
  15. Hi thincity, Thanks for your words. Good to know that you had a great experience at SMG. I had my FUT procedure done yesterday which was a pretty long procedure actually (about 8hrs altogether). I had about 2333 grafts done, which was actually beneath my expectation as I was expecting atleast 3000+ grafts for good overall coverage. This is because my below average donor density could only allot 2333 grafts for 1.5cm width and 32cm long strip length. I will be required for a second procedure down the lane, but its too early to think about it for now. I felt very much comfortable throughout the procedure. Dr. Ron and their technicians were very friendly and supportive. Now its the time factor which I need to be patient until atleast 6 months to see the results. I am traveling to NC tomorrow to spend my vacation time so I don't have much time to post my pics today. I will post them in a day or two. I had a chat with Janna today and she would post some of my pics taken today. Hey thincity can you post the link of your HT pics that I could look at. I am sure you would be looking amazing with a 3400+ grafts on you
  16. @Janna Good to hear from you. I visited SMG couple of times but never got chance to meet you. Most of my never ending questions and concerns were patiently answered by Matt . As far as my procedure is concerned, Dr Ron has thoroughly evaluated my hair loss and is looking to go <=3500 grafts on my 1st procedure covering my hairline and frontal area. Since I am responding quite well with meds finasteride & Rogaine (comparing my before/after pics of 8 months mark), he will not be touching crown at this time. Planned for a 25days vacation to give time for healing and will resume to work after that. @StaggerLee123 I hope valium works well on my nervousness and reducing pain @SADbutTRUE Thanks for your encouraging words. @Raphael84 Thanks much for your wishes. Like others, I hope his magic hands work well on me too.
  17. I see that and agree with you. When you had the grafts placed was it too near to the good quality native or far from it. I am asking this because I read about the shock loss of hair, and considering my situation I have hair all over the head- but thinning of hair but not bald patches. My case looks little similar as you. So did you experience any kind of shockloss? Appreciate posts from experienced folks too, I would like to know more about it.
  18. Hi Orlhair1, Thanks for your post! I saw your HT pics starting from day 1 till 7month post op mark, you had an awesome transformation I must say. You look pretty nice with the hair you have right now, just curious to know the reason for your second HT?
  19. Thanks justone......I hope I will have the hair I wanted by next year and meets my expectations. I will keep you guys posted with my pics from the day of surgery. Meanwhile I am going through the posts of many to understand their HT journey and making myself prepared with it in advance. I appreciate their detailed post from the start of the procedure till a year completion. It really helps!!
  20. Thanks for your wonderful comments . I have planned for a 25 days vacation to give time for healing. Do you guys think if this a sufficient time frame to cover the scar and redness of scalp? I don't have work from home option and I have to work at client location. Since some/many of you had the HT already done in the past, what do you suggest? I really don't want to wear a cap in office to give a feeling to my colleagues that I am hiding something.
