  1. npk21, Hope you get the best of result in the coming months!
  2. npk21, Hope you get the best of result in the coming months!
  3. The hairlines of the patients dont show naturalness at all in terms of angling of grafts ,design and the hairline positioning itself.
  4. A close-up pic would be of great help in aiding us to figure out whether it was due to trauma or graft placement.tnx
  5. Lets wait for 8-10 months to see whether your desired coverage is achieved or not.But to my eyes, the grafts do not look like follicular units and are far apart.Since the work was done on the crown and behind the hairline,if you are not satisfied with the result you can go for another session with a doc from this forum. And I dont agree wit your doc's opinion at all.
  6. For an advanced level of hair loss and given that you have good donor supply and budget at your disposal, why were only 1600 grafts transplanted?I dont mean to be rude, but the grafts are very far apart and the work doesn't seem very neat.
  7. Steve, It would be better to create another thread or a blog with your pics before/after your fut in 2011(still better if you have the old pics before and after your first fut back then in 2001), and your fue pics(before, immediate and after) and of course with a different title.I guess both the flavors of FUT i.e FUE and FUSS have their own adv/disadv to the present day.I was looking forward to a first hand comparison with solid points but ,sadly, there is not much.
  8. The density can definitely be increased(I had the same experience, though they left my hairline untouched ) provided you have enough donor hair. Since 3500 grafts were already used,I guess you should go easy on the hairline(in case you require in the future).I believe a smaller session of ~1500 grafts will make a difference. As for the docs, both are good in dense packing.
  9. How does it look when you keep your hair short(like in the last pic),combed and without toppik application? Your hair seems to be very thick on the top and sides(wavy and coarse too) while the transplanted hair is of Okay density but definitely can be increased.Given that you have fair skin tone and dark hair,I think your scalp will still be visible under bright light, if you keep your hair longer (and not combed(m sorry if you did ) like you did in pics 7-10. Results of dense packing by both the docs are available in this forum or youtube(Dr.Madhu, only)
  10. Well,Dr.Madhu,Radha and Tejinder Bhatti in India have been producing good results in single session at reasonable prices.India is still very much a good option for people who cant travel to the Western Hemisphere Or European countries like Turkey(as you can get good(not the best) transplant at very reasonable price.
  11. Looking great at 5 months! You must be delighted to finally have a hairline!!!Well,5 months is still an early stage.... Things will get even better by 8-10 months.
  12. Yes,I agree...the hairline is pluggy.... .A saw-tooth design was created with singles and doubles in the hairline...In 2005, the clinic didnt use stereo microscope and didnt dissect the grafts properly. So,the result wasnt good. I'm thankful to DR.Radha because She took up my case knowing that maximum damage had already been done. Its her graft placement skills that made my hair look thicker overall with no visible 'gaps'. Regarding my photos:My hair was cut by a local barber for 30 Rupees and not by a stylist. Prior to taking the photo,I shampooed my hair with Himalaya Protein Shampoo and dried it with a towel and used my fingers to style it...I have natural coarse n wavy hair n it helps in achieving the dense look.If I try to middle part my hair,I guess it would look thin!.When I wake up from my sleep in the morning,my hair looks pretty good....wait except the pluggy hairlines ,of course. The bottom line is.....The gaps between My native and transplanted hair have been filled. And I do hope, the efficacy of the medications do not wear off with time . Lets hope something more safe and cheaper comes up in the near future to slow down MPB. Augustya, I will be posting better photos soon....And Yes,Dr.Radha definitely did a good job...and I m hoping that things get better in the coming months.
  13. Augustya,my hairline is worst at its best.It was designed back in 2005.Before,the session with DR.Radha,my main worry was the gap between the transplanted hair and the native hair and the overall frontal density. The overall density will continue to increase in time, but the bad hairline design remains. This is why I urge people not to go to clinics that do HT part-time.I made my mistake and I'm repenting it. Dr.Radha decided not to touch the hairline because I had limited grafts and they were best utilized for increasing the density. Moreover,She assured me that she had reserved for future FUE sessions ,if need arises. Maybe I will get my hairline fixed in future, but the problem at hand(Due to sparse transplanted hair,I had to make them grow long and do some trick styling ) is solved...Now,my hair looks presentable in Rain or Windy situation...
  14. Since the Old Scar was very wide,I had two options (as per Dr.Radha): 1.Revise the old scar and get around 50 grafts. 2.Go for around 1500 grafts by selecting the donor area just above the Old scar, and merging the two scars into one ,later. I went for the second option after discussing with DR.Radha.She told me not to consider another FUSS session in the future.BUT, I 'm still good to go for FUE sessions in the future. I ve ample hair on the sides and also beard hair. Yes,My hairloss has stabilized since 2007.The Frontal Recession is MINIMAL and there is no decrease in the density of the native hair(And no hair loss in the crown). I was too young back then in 2005 to go for an ht.Due to the inefficiency of the clinic /staff,lots of grafts were wasted and i was left with a large scar.
  15. Just wait for the hairs to grow out......say ,wait for six months.. You shouldn't be worrying now at such an early stage .. It might turn out fine. Btw,how many grafts were used??It seems there is little shedding..
  16. Hair isnt a big deal in itself anyway;but the lack of it is.BIG TIME!!! In my case,I whole-heartedly refuse to acknowledge that "HT is just a cosmetic procedure" :I was born with a big protuding forehead(Weirdly Curved Frontal region with large surface area) and very high hairline .To add to my woes,I started losing hair along the hairline by 18.If I were in a parallel universe where HT is unknown,I would definitely have been a grumpy guy with shaved head and a cap(On 24/7,except while sleeping of course).HT has given me a new life. RECAP:I had 3 strip sessions (and a scar revision)with DR.Khanna(current president,AHRS,India) between 2005 and 2007. RESULT:Bad hairline Design/aggresive.True FUSS not performed.Doubles in the hairline/Wrong Angulation/Charged lump sum by no of hair follicles rather than grafts.Density achieved =20-30/cm^2. In March 2013,I made a list of docs to consult for an FUSS in India.(I didnt consider DR.Bhatti as he does FUE and I'm not his FUSS fan.I started with strip and my budget was limited ,so FUSS was a natural choice) The List was like this: 1.DR.Radha 2.DR.Madhu 3.DR.A ,and 4.DR.Sanjiv Vasa I contacted the first two docs and decided on DR.Radha based on her Analysis+Results+Ethics+Policy+Trainning 1840 FUGs were transplanted in the frontal region to increase the density to ~50/cm^2 on May 2nd,13. I'm 17 weeks post HT.The Thickening Process has started!I wish I had gone to DR.Radha (or Madhu or Bhatti ) in the first place....But still,I'm happy with the progress!!! I can style my hair now. What do you guys think? ArcaneX Non-Smoker, Mintop Forte Foam applied locally twice daily, Finpecia 1 mg daily(CAUTION:Dont take without Consulting a Dermatologist), Nizoral 1% once a week, Dutas 0.5 mg once a week(CAUTION:Dont take without Consulting a Dermatologist), Follihair Vitamins Daily. (Declaration:I'm not working for DR.Radha .I'm a genuine patient. The credit for the result doesnt go to DR.Radha entirely. But She played a Major role in the "FIX".I'm satisfied with the growth and also her donor zone selection and closure too.The growth started kicking in at 3.5 months post ht.The After photos are at 17 weeks plus.Still ,i cant find my DSLR camera,so m using a basic CANON IXUS 12.1 Mpx for the time being.)
  17. Dr.Radha doesn't perform FUE (at least not regularly/for moderate to large no of grafts). I brought up her name as a counter argument against the statement that there are no good ht docs in India. For fue,I would definitely recommend DR.Tejinder Bhatti (but his hairline designs definitely need improvement).
  18. fueonly, Please read through my earlier posts in the same thread again! Anways,I have exhausted my donor supply and my hair restoration is upto my satisfaction. I'm here to help (and I ve helped) prospective patients and prevent them from ending up in unethical and outdated clinics.Well,I ve seen the patients' photo(Before/After) in DR.Radha's clinic.I found them pretty good compared to all the other clinics I ve visited in India.Yes,the photos in her website were there for a long time. They show people with higher degree of baldness and coarse and wavy hair characteristics (and there is scope for improvement if the donor supply n budget permits).I hope Dr.Radha updates her patients' photos soon. 1978Matt, Thanks
  19. fueonly, Yep, for the past three years,I ve been examining awe inspiring results from these Top-notch docs... But ,my approach is from a different perspective.I ve seen "Disastrous" hair transplants with low yield, wrongly angled grafts,cobble-stoning in the recipient site, heavy scarring in donor area and even cases of patients being lied about the no .of grafts.I am aware of the Turkish docs too....and i love the results! But the pricing is a huge factor!...IMO,I think DR.Radha's Asymmetrical hairlines and overall natural looking transplant does it for me!They aren't the best, but they look natural. And regarding,Dr.Bhatti.....I'm not a fan of his hairlines either and hopes he improves.
  20. fueonly, Sometimes,we get the coverage ,but the grafts are at random angles or at almost 90 degs, thereby attracting stares from people. Also, the no of ways one can style his hair is limited! I have seen some good docs here with good hairline(Natural Looking) design skills. DR.Radha stands out in the department of natural looking hairline and hair transplant. hairhair, The Lady Doc might turn out to be OK,but I need more photos to be convinced. But,the clinic is basically an ENT clinic...Do they use the latest techniques n equipments with life support system to provide state of the art fue?How are the nurses n the techs? Are they well trained to assist in HT/fue ??
  21. The Hairlines don't show complete naturalness in many cases, and look rather pluggy. In a particular case, the hairline was too aggressive and looks weird(There goes the face ratio)!!The After photos are taken with auto-lighting in some cases and the true results are masked. To Sum up,I ve seen better results with many docs/clinics here. The Pricing is mentioned as 45 INR per follicle and not graft!!!There are few docs in India who charge per follicle!! So,a 3 follicles grafts will cost you 135!!!Personally,I find this ridiculous as the no which they give might be actually lesser than the follicles transplanted.
  22. hairhair9000, You aren't a newbie here and so,I will directly come to the point. While Selecting A doctor/Clinic,go for the ones that do Hair Transplant EXCLUSIVELY...and do not provide other facilities like FACIAL RECONSTRUCTION,tummy tuck,Breast aug/reduction etc...The Clinic/Doc should be able to provide examples of its/his/her work.Since you are going for FUE,you need to ask your doc lots of questions regarding the punch used, its size, donor site creation ,insertion techniques,etc..(And Most Importantly,How much of the work will be done by the doc/chief surgeon...). Not All Docs can produce NATURAL looking Transplants with good density. Some even lie about the no. of grafts transplanted. Some does shoddy work and charge high fees. But dont worry, there is a good share of ethical & talented docs in INDIA too.And Regarding,ISHRS....Being a member doesnt NECESSARILY mean the doc is an EXPERT in HT.(I mean you shouldnt think that the doc will be able to deliver quality result as he /she is a member!) Please do your Research well and COMMUNICATE (numerous calls/emails/skype/Physical Consultations) with the docs/clinics and go for the one which you have faith in(or the one which you think is the best from your list....say of 3 docs). Cheers..
  23. Bombaywala, While you can limit the no of grafts as per your budget,I suggest circa 4000 would be great for you in a single session....Of course, your scalp laxity also plays a big role too....You can discuss this in the consultation before the surgery.... As per my experience,Dr.Radha is very hands on and friendly and her designs/graft placements are great. Her Donor area harvesting and suturing will ensure that you have the least visible scar while ensuring max graft harvest..
