  1. my scar ended up a bit longer than I thought too, only had 700 grafts done, but it's still about 3" long. after 3 months it has gotten a lot better, but the shortest I've dared shave it is a 3, wanna try a 2 but don't know how much more noticeable it will be.
  2. judging from your photos you don't look bad with the shaved head look, but only you know If you are ready for an HT, I got mine done really young so I can't really tell you to wait
  3. JO20, I'm 21 and I just got a HT little over a month ago. I got 580 grafts on my hairline to make it look a little better. I felt the same way, tried rogaine since I was 18, then finnaly decided that if I plan on getting and HT in the future why wait, so I got it done and I am now on Proscar to help prevent any further loss, plus I have a great deal of donor hair left for future procedures. I waited about a week an a half till I started liftin again, good luck with it
  4. If your just getting your temples done, I doubt you would suffer much from shock loss, because their probably isn't hair around where there putting the grafts anyway. As for excersising, I'm a weightlifter and my doctor told me no to raise my heartrate over 100 for a week and not to lift anything over 40lbs for a week, but after that he says I'm fine ease back into my routine.
  5. Just had the HT done, I passed on the graftcyte, but did buy a bottle of folligen, I'm about two days post op and will begin using it soon, but either way I think I'll heal up pretty fast.
  6. I had some that I used on a scar around my eye, worked well. I plan on using it on the scar from the donor area, don't see why it wouldn't work just as good, I have this antibiotic ointment, so I'll use that first then use the mederma.
  7. Well after months of bumbling around on these forums and talking to doctors I finally had my HT done. I am two days post op and already excited to see the hair start growing. I'm probably alot younger then most people that have had there hair done, but I got 580 grafts done on my temple recessions. So far no pain at all, the procedure was completely pain free and even at two days post op, it's hard to notice that I had the surgery, with the exception of the stitches in the back of my head, but I did shave the back with a "2" before the surgery. My hairline still looks receeded a little bit, I took a very conservative approach, but is an amazing improvement to what it was like before hand, I hopefully wont have any shock loss, since the areas it was transplanted in only had peach fuzz, probably from using Rogaine. I didn't use graftcyte, but I am on proscar, rogaine and folligen so I cant wait for the next couple of months to go by. I just wanted to thank everyone for the advice about HT's and staying away from the big companies. I ended up getting it done by Dr. Harris, so far so good.

  9. Anybody use Graftcyte or Folligen, I'm having an HT in a week to restore my hairline and I've heard good things about graftcyte, just wondering if folligen works just as good?

  11. Yeah what I want too do is add about 400-500 grafts on my corner temples. If I were to do all my thinning areas it would probably take about 1000 grafts, but I don't mind still appearing with a receding hairline, the smallest improvement will make me happy.
  12. After talking to Dr. Harris, I believe that I will probably get the surgery in about a month and a half. I told him what I wanted to do, and he set me up with something that would work great for me, appearance wise and financially. I also got the prescriptions I needed from him, and he didn't want to charge like every other doctor I talked too.
  13. after looking at you post I think I'm about where you were before your HT. I'm just not looking for a complete fix, just a little bit to give me more options with my hair style and maybe if it didn't look so bad when wet. I also don't have thousands of dollars to throw down on a procedure, so I kinda have to see what I can do. To me anything is better then nothing.
  14. I'm excited to see dr. harris, so far I've seen three doctors and eventhough I'm advised to stay away, MHR has been the most honest to me and seemed to care the most.
