  1. I had the stitches removed today. There was some slight bleeding where the knots were but other than that there was relatively no pain. all of the crusts have fallen off of the graph site and unfortunately some the transplanted hairs have fallen out as well Still using the copper peptide shampoo, spray and lotion, and using the minoxidil foam x2 daily. Ordered some new shampoo today as the copper peptide one that I have was just a sample size and it won't last much longer. Also have been using the laser comb 15-30 minutes a day all over my entire head. At the donor site, the only part that appears to be a raised scar is in the center, but the sides are not raised. I think it looks well hidden, the only way you can see it is because the hair at the donor site was cut short and you can see that, but i think once it grows out you wont be able to see it at all. My scalp is starting to look the way it looked before the surgery.
  2. Finally able to shower normally. Having to use the cup method was truely a PITA. My scalp has started to form crusts and scab over and I am feeling tissue building up in the donor area. Hopefully the itching subsides soon. Still using the copper peptide shampoo, and have noticed that small amounts of crusts are starting to come off. Called the Doctor about using minoxidil today, they said the foam was preferred and that I could start using it immidiately on my hair if I wanted to. I ordered a 6 month supply of the generic kirkland minoxidil 5% foam, so we will see how that works.
  3. Got to wash my hair today, Used the cup method. Tried calling the Doctors office because the instruction sheet says to massage lightly during shampoo, and in his office he said not to touch it. I didn't touch it just in case since I didn't ever get in touch with them. The pain is much better, woke up virtually pain free, and all day the only pain I am having is when the suture line gets bumped. Was outside all day, wearing the hat they gave me. Got a little itchy but it was manageable.
  4. Working nights I got off around 0520 and made my way to the doctors office. Having to fight heavy houston AM traffic I arrived just shy of 0800. They were very helpful and I was ready to begin the procedure by 0900. The Doctor drew on my scalp a rough sketch of what my hairline would look like and away we went. they began with several injections of a local anesthetic around the donor area and began to remove the onor piece. It was a very weird feeling as i could not feel any thing sharp but i could feel a saw like motion and rough sensation. It was probably the most nerve racking feeling of the whole procedure. Once the donor piece was removed and my head stitched up, the nurse began to inject the anesthetic in the area where the graphs would go. The doctor then proceeded to make the sites in my scalp with a needle like instrument. A total of 1650 of them. For the next few hours, I drifted in and out of sleep as the doctor and his team placed the graphs. After a while, I began to feel exhausted of sitting in the chair and as the procedure dragged on and the anesthetic was starting to wear off as the procedure drew to a close. The team was very proffesional and nice and they even feed you lunch! they knew i had a long drive home so they reinjected the anesthitic to help manage the pain. My head felt swollen and stretched to point where the it was so uncomfortable i knew I would not fall asleep at the wheel no matter how tired I was, It felt like I was wearing a football helemt that was too small. Pressing on every bit of my head yet I was wearing nothing. I was exhausted by the time i got home and again the pain was beginning to return to unbearable levels. the donor area hurt much more than the area where the graphs had been implanted. My head felt like it was about to burst open and i immedietly dove into the bag of goodies that i was given that included hydrocodone and ambien. The pain slightly began to subdue and I was so exhausted that I decided to get some sleep. I have to sleep on my back for the first for days but the ambien put me right to sleep. More to come....
  5. Can't wash it today, the pain is pretty bad, trying to stay on top of it with ibuprofen and vicodin. The swelling in my head has gone down some, and the pressure isn't as intense. We didn't buy the $500 healing kit, but bought copper peptide spray online and have been using that, and the cream on the suture area.
