  1. i think id prefer the lower density more/full coverage in the back. I have a pretty large area to cover as well. i am hoping i can get enough grafts to get good coverage/ and reasonable density for a good cosmetic appearance. i am in the same boat, coming from nw5 getting back to nw1 is a success in my books as well. my last transplant was a about a year ago, so ive seen how long it takes for the hair to grow in and mature. the first one everyone though i just changed my hair style as i had a great comb over going for awhile or "grew my hair out" lol since it was such a gradual process, i would get double takes from ppl i hadn't seen in awhile tho. i am not sure what to expect this time around as my crown has been bare for years now. should be interesting no doubt. the time away from being active and the gym is a killer. last time i took a solid 3 months off to be safe from anything. my scar is not bad, so i would probably do the same thing to be safe.
  2. thanks for the responses guys. here are my main concerns. 1. with the crown being the black hole of hair transplants, i gotta make most of whatever grafts i can get. so i need an experienced person who has mastered the crown. 2. i really want to to able to cover the whole crown and get an aesthetically pleasing result, i understand it cannot be dense but the illusion of no hair loss back there is what I am going for. Can't Decide - one question i have for you is, is the area of the crown that was left unfilled, what was the reasoning behind that? anyone have any crown work done by Wong that they can share with me. also i am located in canada, so hence why rahal/HW make the most sense for me. thanks.
  3. i had my tranplant by rahal! it did come out really well. I just haven't seen any great crown work from him online. he seems like to want to leave some of the crown unfilled? it's either rahal or wong as this point.
  4. Hi, I used this site for advice my first transplant for about 4200 grafts for my hairline and midscalp. I am very happy with the result and would now like to address my crown. I am a norwood 5. well I was norwood 5! After this second surgery, no more baldness, very excited! I would like to use a surgeon who has a proven track record of success working on the crown as it can be a tricky area. i think i can get another 2500 grafts which should give me enough to tackle my crown. I am leaning towards Dr Wong from hasson and wong as he has a great reputation with crown work. I just wanted to get boards opinion any other surgeons to consider for this type of work I only use rogaine foam, no propeica/fin. I know my crown will continue to expand however I would like to cover it all if possible and use FUE/beard hair for any touchups. Is this a good strategy? I can post some pics if it helps. thanks
  5. thanks guys, im just gonna take it easy for the next little while not stress and let this resolve itself. i will post some pictures when i start to see some action in terms of growth.
  6. of my shockloss or recipient, im in 100 percent ugly duckling state right now.
  7. hey cant decide thanks for the reply i had my procedure with dr rahal as well. everything looks on track except for the shockloss which is unpredictable and this tightness which i guess you cant really know about either. seeing you result definitely motivated me as my hair loss is pretty similar to ours. it's just a tough time i guess. i think if i can make it to three months then i will feel alot better, its just not gonna be easy.
  8. im not doing anything cardio gym and im six weeks post op. all im worried about is this tightness and possible scar stretching. i really cant live like this. can someone please tell me it will be ok for to get on with a normal routine that i had pre op. all i im reading is be careful for the first 3 months? if i make it past the first three months without any stretching does that mean i am the clear. i honestly didn't get a hair transplant and then have to sit on my ass on all day and worry and not be able to do the things i like. i really wish i could have gone fue but i had 4500 grafts and will need 2500 more for my crown as im nw5. so that would really been tough for me but now im thinking perhaps i should have just take a few thousand fue and called it a day. cause this paranoia about scar streching is just too much. plus i have had some pretty bad shockloss that i have to conceal with dermmatch right now. i went to highly regarded doctor around here so i know i was in good hands and everything should be fine, but man it's really tough right now. i really thought id be back to normal or atleast be able to go for a jog without any issues. i contacted my clinic and they said just take it easy for another few weeks. which is fine and i will do that. my scar hasn't stretched so far but man this is stressful.
  9. really oh man. honestly im really regretting my procedure right now. i really didn't think that there would be this much downtime. i wish i could have went fue but with the amount of loss i have that wasn't really an option for me.
  10. hey guys, i am at 6 weeks out after fut for about 4500 grafts. and im still feeling pretty tight in my scalp. can someone comment if this is normal? when would this start to subside? i am really getting worried about this as must people are ok after the first month?
  11. hi guys, i posted this in another thread but i think its might be a better place for it. i am six weeks out and am wondering if it's ok for me to start playing basketball and do some road biking. i understand try not to look down too much when doing either but i feel like basketball can be pretty intense with the running and jumping. reading this thread has really made me more comfortable about resuming activities but im super paranoid about putting unnecessary strain on the scar.
  12. thanks guys, i will take it easy for a week or two more it doesn't really hurt to be honest. i am just wondering does the scar really settle. from what i read after a year you are ok?
  13. and i am assuming everything was ok? i would like to err on the side of caution even though im planning to have another procedure for my crown so this scar would be cut out anyways, but id like to be able to cut my hair down to 4 in the meantime. thanks for your reply!
  14. Hi guys, just a question for those of you that had fut surgery. I am at 6 weeks post and had around 4500 grafts. and what i am wondering is when you can start playing sports such as basketball running and doing some biking. i am experiencing a little bit of tightness but mainly i am afraid to exert myself in fear of stretching the donor scar. I really want to start getting active again but this is a big concern for me. i know you can do light stuff right away but playing basketball can be pretty intense exercise. can anyone comment on when it would be safe for me return to these activities? i am going to hold off on weight lifting for another 2 months at least. thanks guys.
  15. Hi aim4hair Donor area looks great Question I have is do you have any pictures of the recipient area? I am on verge of getting any fue but if dr gho method works just as well then it's a no brainer If u could let us know how the transplanted hairs are doing? That would really help me and possibly others in the decision to hold of fue and go with hst Thanks
