  1. Starr. I used the laser comb for several years.. a complete waste of money and time in my humble opinion.. as was minoxidil.. the only proven treatment to work effectively in most cases is finasteride but really at a much higher dose than generally prescribed, ie I am taking 5mgs per day now as opposed to a quarter tablet of 1.25mgs which I had been on for 2.5 years until oct 14. Like you my main problem was the vertex and I did not start losing my hair until 40+. I am now 54 with advanced balding on the crown and less severe thinning on the frontal hairline. Also, the derma roller is recommended and I started using this around 3 months ago., 2 to 3 times per week..oh and I got a 1800 FUE transplant done in February past mostly to the vertex as I hated the sight of it in an otherwise healthy head of hair around it!. I also had and will have conjunctive treatments done before and after the FUE. The carboxytherapy and PRP was included in the price of the procedure so I had nothing to lose. I paid extra for one injection of growth hormone to the scalp just to throw verything at it. I am now nearly 8 weeks post FUE with no cosmetic sign of new growth on the vertex yet but its early days and I am hopeful. Your vertex is a bit more severe than mine was and at a younger age. The only thing that will improve it is a HT..dont waste your money or time on the laser which is approved for safe use only or one study which quotes growth is only referring to vellus growth which you can barely see
