  1. Hello sorry to resurrect an old post but my question is kinda similar to this. Obviously different sports will require a different amount of recovery time. Just wondering if anyone who plays football (soccer for you yanks) has headed the ball after a HT. I have this fear that it will hurt like hell, I did head it once shortly after my HT I was out messing about with friends and just let the ball bounce off my forehead. It hurt bad and felt like hairs were being pushed in and my head was really sensitive. Since that I haven’t headed the ball and as you can guess it really affects my game. How long before you felt confident to head a ball again.
  2. Looks like Europe is leading the way here... surprised there is not more from the Americas or Asia. Is that list in order?
  3. 4% is large in medical side effects, an example... there are 18,326 registered members on this site that means that around 733 of our fine members will suffer side effects, thats quite a lot and a horrible thought that 733 of the great friendly people on this site will be effected. I just don't know what to do, my supply of finasteride ran out recently, I was searching where to buy more and I came across this post. Scared the hell into me. I would recommend everyone to read that post. I did say along time ago to my HT Dr. that I would nearly prefer to get another HT in 5-10 years than to take medicine every day. I never noticed anything, no side effect positive or negative. I did just start taking them week before my HT. So do I stop taking them and risk my new HT or take them and risk my health?
  4. Just saw the video of Dr. Lorenzo on youtube, he is quick with the old choi implanter. What is the alternative to the choi? JayDublin- how important is it to you for people not to find out, I was fully committed to keeping quiet, but it just seemed like too much effort and when I "came out" I got nothing but positive responses from friends and family, everyone telling me I'm brave for some reason... and all my balding friends are now curious as hell. If ya really don't wanna tell people, you could make something up like an infection on your head... I mean if you really had a problem say head through glass window with lots of tiny cuts, would you worry about covering up redness? Back to the topic... could we make some sort of grading criteria so we can find out who the best actually is? Using before after pics combined with patients testimonials, healing time, cost etc... Could be an interesting project.
  5. Hey, Jay. I'm not in Dublin but, I got my HT done there. The place I got it done were able to get me in touch with a former patient, I was able to have phone conversations. Couldn't meet up with them as I'm at other side of the country and our schedules were conflicting. It would prob be easier for you if you are in Dublin already. I'd say if you ring them and ask they would be able to set you up. This might not be what your looking for but every bit of info helps. Surgery name= Arte Novi Clinic
  6. That is very interesting too, is this like in the same way people can get addicted to plastic surgery or girls to getting larger and larger implants? Is there any articles written about this I wouldn't mind reading more on that.
  7. That's interesting. I remember when I was really dubious about taking finasteride, I said to my Dr. I would rather go through another surgery in 5-10 years than take daily medicine. I now take finasteride so I thought that maybe that would be enough. You guys are in 40s I'm only 27 I assume that means I'll def need one in 5-10 years. Suppose it depends on technology developments too, compare 10 years ago to now then maybe in 10 more things will be a lot different.
  8. Hey all. So I've noticed from reading on here that some people talk about their 2nd or 3rd HT. Just wondering does this mean that in a few years I'll have to go back and get another one done? I just assumed that once it was done it was done for life, I never even asked my Dr about this. Or am I mistaking that the people who are going back are getting repaired or finishing off larger HTs? Cheers for the help.
  9. Just be careful not to bump your head, I hit mine getting out of car 2 days after and it hurt like hell. I wouldn't fancy traveling home just after, but then again I hate to travel airports are horrible places. When you consider how much you will be paying an extra day or two in a hotel might be worth it. I had to do something the day after mine that I couldn't show I had it done, I wore a shower cap then a loose hat over that, got super hot and sweaty so would not be good for long periods of time.
  10. Hey Redman, did you find a solution? I was in a similar situation, had a wedding about 8/9 weeks after my HT. I was concerned about it too. The hat might be the best option especially if it is stylish it can look great. When I first got mine I didn't want to tell friends or family and thought I could hide it. After long discussions with my girlfriend I decided not to bother and embraced it. Easy conversation starter (handy at weddings) The wedding I was going to I had to film, so I was standing up beside bride & groom in the church. Most people will be respectful and either not bring it up or will politely ask you what it is. What you have to look out for is the jerk of the group (there is always one). Prepare yourself, have a comical but not too insulting response lined up. "Wow John your looking a bit thin on top..." said the jerk as we met at the bar "Shit dude you've put on a few pounds... I guess we're all getting older" I replied something along those lines.
  11. Hey all, I did upload some photos, on my account if you go to photo album you should see them. Should I post them here on this topic too? Is there a way you can link photos already uploaded to a topic? As for Arte Novi, they do have photos on their website, it's just their website is confusing. It took me a while to find the images here, they really need to improve their webpage as it is hard to navigate. I got to this link not by clicking "hair restoration" (which one would assume would lead to hair restoration pics...) but by clicking services then hair restoration then a tiny little link says "click here for images" crazy I know. Johnwest, I will pm you about prices I paid, and a little info. I have some photos on my profile page. I need to get more and a more up to date recent one. I'm bout 3.5 months on from mine now.
  12. Hey newguy. I did a quick search and found this might be helpful to you it's a post about how to wear a hat with your suit. How to wear a hat with your suit | Suit Society
  13. Cheers for the input, as I said I can understand the reasons why it was said, it's just that I joined recently and thought maybe I could give info and help to people. To see on my 2nd post that someone was told to ignore me, sort of left me feeling a little aggravated. It was not long ago I was avoiding contact with people and had avoided telling friends I had got it done. In my attempt to start socialising, to get shot down straight away was a bit disheartening.....especially from a support forum! I can completely understand where your coming from, just wanted to let people know that not all new users are the same. As to the pics will get them asap, I've just been very busy this last while.
  14. Hmmmm so for those of us who have just joined, do we just not give advise or opinions? Bit of a rash statement, I can understand it... just don't tar all with one brush.
  15. Hey hairshopeing, why not try Ireland? I had my surgery done here, if your willing to travel abroad you should check it out. I am so pleased I decided to get mine done.
