  1. Many thanks for your reply Paddy. I'm just not 100% sure if the site I am buying the drugs off are fully legit. If you could provide me with a link to qhi online I would be most appreciative. Also, as an aside from the topic in hand did you notice any regrowth or was is simply the case that you did not loose anymore hair?
  2. Just to mention also there are UK sites where Proscar can be bought without a perscription but it would seem that they will deliver to mainland UK only. If anybody could let me know of an alternative site to the one I have linked to above that deliver Proscar to Republic of Ireland without a perscription I would be most appreciative
  3. Hi folks as the title says is it possible to get fake Proscar? I live in the Republic of Ireland and due to the laws which doctors must follow here they cannot prescribe Proscar for hair loss, only for Prostate Cancer. The cost of buying Finasteride 1mg here is prohibitive to me. Hence, I have had to buy my Proscar online from abroad. I have being cutting the pills into four and taking one quarter daily as one should (well close enough to one quarter daily as I find it impossible to cut them into 4 equal pieces but I am taking one tablet over the course of 4 days). The reason really I am opening this thread is because even though I have being taking the Proscar over the last 7 months I have not noticed any notable improvement and hence I am thinking the Proscar I am using is possibly duds. I have being using generic Regaine for just over 7 months also. I shed a serious amount of hair when I started the meds so I thought I was doing good. But at present I am back to where I was before I started the meds at very best, on the whole maybe even not quite as good. Could somebody who is more in the knowledgeable than myself (most of ye are:)) tell me if there is fake Proscar doing the rounds and better still if the site above and Proscar being sold on it are genuine?
  4. Ouch....?214 for six months supply...that ain't cheap. I have being told that most Irish chemists will not dispence Proscar for those suffering with MPB hairloss, only for those suffering from Prostate cancer. Any truth in this?
  5. Hi folks, Long time reader here. Not a big poster so far. I am a 31 year old male and I have being receeding and thinning somewhat over the past 3 to 4 years. I noticed it especially got worse about a year ago. About 6 to 7 months ago I started Proscar 5 mg cut into four and taken daily and also started using Regaine and Nizoral shampoo. I shed considerably soon after I started the medications and overall it now seems to have grown back to where I was at just before I started the meds but no notable improvement. Perhaps a small improvement at the crown but no real gains at the front or temples. Hence I am at the point where I am considering a FUT HT. The thing I had an online consulation with one clinic and was told I needed approx 2,200 to 2,500 hairs transplanted into frontal hair line, temples and crown. I physically went into another clinic and was told I needed approx 500 to 600 at frontal hairline. Mainly near temples but also some at centre of frontal hairline to get some density back. They recommended I should not get any at crown yet as the hairloss there is not so noticeable and that area tends to take a lot of hairs. I would tend to agree that hairloss in my crown area is pobably not bad enough to warrant a HT into that area yet. But still 500-600 hairs versus 2,200 to 2,500? I would be most grateful if somebody with a bit of knowledge in this area could take a look at my pictures and advise on approx how many hairs I would need to get back some decent density in my frontal hairline and fill in temples that have receeded with a nice strongish hairline
  6. Libero 1978 thanks for your reply which is much appreciated. Did your friend get the procedure done at the Medhair clinic you mention? Did he get a FUE or FUT procedure? Although, cost is a concern and it would be away too costly to get the procedure done in my home country of Ireland I do not want to be in a situation where I end up with a duff HT so would like to go with a reputable clinic. If by any chance before and after photos are available I would very much apprciate seing them, thanks again
  7. Hi Folks I'm wondering if anyone on here had a HT with the guys I have linked to below: - (Link removed by moderator) They are in Eastern Europe and because prices are highly prohibitive to me in my own home country I am strongly considering them. I had an online consultation with them and have being told I will need approximately 2,500 grafts by FUT method. The surgeon is Dr. Akaki Tsilosani who is a member of ISHRS. If anyone has has any personal experience of the surgery or indeed have heard of others experiences there I would be most appreciative of yer comments.
  8. Many thanks Hairybaldy; Had a look at the photos you uploaded and I think they look pretty impressive, even though they were photos of the early days following the the transplant. Look forward to receiving further information from you by PM, very much appreciative Hairybaldy
  9. Hi Hairybaldy, Congratulations on your HT and its good to hear that you are satisfied with the results. I would seem to be in a similar situation to you before you had the HT and at the moment my hair loss is even such that its knocking my confidence. To the best of my knowledge up to now the HRBR clinic and Hair Transplant Ireland were the only clincs in the Republic of Ireland...up until I saw this thread. I emailed both afore mentioned clinics pictures of my hair loss and was quoted a price for a HT which was beyond my means. Hence I have provisionally booked a HT in an Eastern Europen. I would be most interested in finding out the cost per FUT and FUE at the Arte Novi clinic and their pricing structure if you could provide me with such please? I would ideally like to get the procedure done here in Ireland but costs are prohibitive to me with the two clinics I was in contact with. I have being told I will need 2,000 to 2,500 grafts as it stands. I would also be most interested in viewing your before and after pics if you have available. Many thanks in advance Hairybaldy John
  10. Aditionally I would also like to ask for how long would the scar remain noticeable following on from the surgery. I work in a job where I would rather avoid people knowing I had such surgery done. I would like to plan ahead and figure out how much time I may need to take of work. Are there any good ways of concealing the scar in the early stages apart from wearing a hat/ wig etc?
  11. Hi Folks, Hopefully I am posting in the correct forum but if not the moderators might be so kind as to move my post to an alternative forum. Over the past year in particular my hair has being thinning out considerably. I have gone bald around the temples and my hair has thinned out considerably at the front and to a lesser extent on the crown of my head. Within the past 5 to 6 weeks I have started using Regaine Extra Strength and Finasteride 1.25 mg daily. In the last few weeks in particular I have shed a considerable amount of hair which I believe is a good sign in the early stages and shows that the afore mentioned products are working effectively as they should. After carrying out some research I am considering but having finalised a hair transplant in a Eastern European Clinc (such treatments in my home country is away too expensive for me to afford) which would be approximately 7 months from now (I cannot get an appropriate amount of time off work before then that fits in with a free slot that the Clinic would have). I have done some research on the Clinic and the reports would all seem to suggest that it is a reputable establishment. I can provide the name of the Clinic if need be and if the site moderators allow such? I have being in touch via email with their Clinic and on the phone with their representaitve here in Ireland. They have diagnosed my hair loss as Level III on the Norwood Scale and advised that I would need approx 2,500 grafts by FUT method. My primary concern is that if I continue to use the Proscar and Regaine and see considerable hair growth between now and the surgery that a hair transplant would not be a good idea. Not least because there may not be a need for such a large scaled hair transplant following the regrowth but also because I am apprehensive that the transplanted hair may cause me to loose a considerable amount of existing hair nearby due to shock and I may end up in a worse position than ever a few months following on from the treatment. I have raised this concern with the Clinic and they have told me that there is no reason to cease using the Proscar and/ or Regaine between now and the surgery. I suppose the reason of my post is to get a second opinion on this concern. I just want to establish if the Clinics advise is duff before I go ahead and finalise booking with them. If anyone could provide me with advise in this regard I would be most appreciative. Although I am learning considerably about the various products and treatments available to treat MPB I am not so familiar with the specifics of hair transplant procedures and hence the reason for my concern.
