  1. International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery for Hair Loss and Baldness This is the international hair restoration society. I suggest you check out the surgeon list as they are dedicated hair surgeons and not plastic surgeons with a license to carry out hair transplants. Hope this helps.
  2. I recommend you check out the International Society of hair restoration surgery. They are the governing body for hair surgeons globally, the surgeons attend a global conference once a year and you can check out each surgeons attendance record and they can advise you as a non profit organisation who to contact. They have surgeons globally and I would just ask that you check out their website as it is incredibly well presented. And yes I do have personal experience of using them succesfully as a patient.
  3. International society of hair restoration surgery. International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery for Hair Loss and Baldness This is the official world governing organisation of collective hair surgeons. They meet once a year to discuss the cutting edge developments of hair restoration and you can check each surgeons attendance year by year. Any surgeon on their list is a dedicated hair surgeon and they are the authority you should be choosing your surgeon from as they a non profit organisation dedicated to guiding and advising you through the whole process. Check them out and I hope that helps.
  4. I think it looks about right. The trick so I am led to believe is to create an illusion that represents what would have been a natural hairline and not a transplant that produces density unless you have extensive transplant surgery.
  5. All of these surgeons (in the ISHRS) are fully dedicated hair transplant affiliated global surgeons who have an international conference yearly and you can see which surgeons attended and how long they have practised.
  6. I suggest you contact your surgeon before the operation and ask him or her to prepare a written e-mail of before and after hair care for your operation. I can tell you that FUE is a very non invasive procedure and you will be comfortable throughout the operation. All surgeons will tell you to avoid strong sun on your scalp after the operation and don`t get your scalp sun burnt before the FUE. Which doctor and clinic did you choose?
  7. Nick, I had a failed FUT and then 9 months later a succesful FUE. I would say that my growth rate second time round was very slow up until six months. I am now 10 months and the transplants look a lot healthier. I took a lot of dietary precautions second time around to boost the nutrients to my new hair. I can only say that it was when I started taking marine collagen supplements with saw palmetto daily that my hair really started to look shiny and healthy. Gingko biloba with vitamin E and dmae from twinlabs also with plenty of good protein foods and a non sulphate, keratin shampoo. Hope that gives you some ideas on healing and nurturing your transplanted hairs.

  11. Good to hear you were well looked after. For your benefit and all the readers here we would really like to see pictures, monthly if you like, of your progress. There are a lot of UK HT curious men who look to our experiences (I`ve had an FUT and and FUE) and pictures add real meaning to your words. Anyway, is good to see you posting here. And be patient and look after your newly transplanted hair as I am sure you will.
  12. Yes, well done on a successful FUE. Could you share your hair growth experience month by month for that year and allow us all an insight into when your new hair started to really show.
  13. Shane, I have had both FUT and FUE. I personally found FUE much more civilized and non invasive a procedure (apart from the head shaving before surgery). I had a 2000 FUE procedure over two days, 6 months ago so I would say the two day procedure is correct procedure for such a large amount of grafts. It is less traumatic for the patient and it is a very detailed procedure for 4000 follicles that requires intense concentration by any FUE surgeon. For your reference I had 2000 FUT strip, unsuccesful (Prestige Clinic, Wroclaw, Poland) and 2000 FUE (resulting in 4929 hairs transplanted) by Dr Flavio Barsali at transplantecapilar clinic in Lisbon Portugal. My second procedure is still a work in progress but I can say that I am comfortable with the progressive growth so far. I have never taken Finisteride or Rogaine. I take saw palmetto, egg white protein powder for the amino acid complex, a multivitamin, vitamin D and DMAE supplement on various days of the week and I also leave shea butter (pure organic and Argan oil in my scalp overnight for the moisturizing and hair strengthening properties. So If you wish to go natural then you have the right to choose to do so. All the medications have side effects (apart from hair growth or maintenance of existing hairs). Finisteride I have read some very frightening accounts of from users in particular. Hope that helps you make an informed decision.
  14. Very nice Miss Indigo. Keep doing what you are doing and Merry Christmas to you also.

  24. Hello Tammy. Just had a look at your pictures. Like to ask how you feel about the HT progress after 6 months. I`m about 4 months in on my second FUE of 5000 hairs (that was the hair count after they had removed the follicles.)
  25. I absolutely agree with what you say ejl7. My first FUT yielded no obvious result so 10 months later I have just had FUE, this time with a well researched International hair restoration society surgeon (s). I too am in my late 40s. My GP also said that he sees many hair transplant patients who have more success with second or third procedures than first. Educating ones self to the intricacies of hair transplants can take time and first timers often don`t know where to start when looking for surgeons which makes them easier to pick of by the opportunist not so good surgeons.
