  1. So you want to look like David Schwimmer? I had more hair than you at 21 and lost the entire front by age 30. I'd suggest 18-24 months trying some hair loss meds and monitoring their effectiveness. If you have a reasonably close HT doctor then no harm visting them. They can probably take some detailed photos and density readings and check back in a year or two. If that works then you could do 2000 FUE to improve the front, but it would need to be conservative. More like the lines drawn by John1991
  2. I took a loan for the first HT as I didn't want to use cash savings. 5 year fixed rate with a repayment equivalent to about $250pm. Not sure what the rate was - maybe 5.19%. Most UK banks don't need proof of what you're spending the money on, although if there was a box on the application form I may have put 'car loan'. I didn't bother with loans for the other procedures. Costs are unlikely to go down unless everyone is forced back into the office and abandon working from home. The whole WfH thing made the process of getting a HT far more appealing, exponentially increasing the demand. I don't see the spansih surgeons raising their fees that much either. If they charge too much they won't be able to produce so many 6000 graft + transformations because they will become unaffordable to most (even if over 3 or 4 surgeries). Not many would pay circa EUR60,000. EUR30,000 maybe, but EUR60,000 less so.
  3. I flew 4000 miles to see Dr K in early 2013, although in those days there was no fee, and only a couple of months finding a slot where he was available. He was very generous with his time too (1.5 hours). Visiting beforehand is underrated, especially if you're making such a big investment. I weaved the visit into a vacation elsewhere in the US.
  4. Unless stable and on meds I wouldn't go 'all-in' at age 26, especially given family history. Perhaps leave it until you hit 30+.
  5. Yes it will probably be a bit weak under harsh lighting, and it also depends on your starting position too. For example, if you were a solid NW3 and restored to a NW2 it may look better because theres a wall of hair behind it which helps to block out light. Contrast this to someone who started off a NW5 or 6. They may have to comb it to the side to get the layering effect to block out light because the density behind is also low.
  6. This is from 2017 (Gifted premiere) and you can see the hairs are there:
  7. The problem with Turkey is they charge a low graft rate. This means they want to push the number of grafts high to get their money's worth out of you. Instead of 5000 grafts and obliterating the donor in one go, I think you might actually benefit from a more conservative approach. You could do about 2000-2500 at the front half of your head and frame the face, maintaining a side part hairline style.
  8. You could have a HT for sure, without FIN. I would do an FUE of around 2000 grafts, basically to fill in the area behind your forelock. Basically a secondary hairline once the forelock erodes over time. Not the best drawing below but you get the idea.
  9. Not familar with Howedes but yeah, looks like he had a small HT and then some quite rapid loss behind it in the last few year. Ings' starting to break down for sure. Needs to get on FIN/DUT. Hard to pinpoint the exact issue, but it looks a bit too straight from some angles.
  10. Konior instructions are 1 week post of for gentle massage with fingertips and very light pressure. You can use a bit more shower water pressure as well.
  11. I saw someone on Reddit get some success with 0.25mg 3 times a week. I get minor brain fog but it seems to lessen if I take the pill with food. Perhaps that just slows down the absorption enough not to notice. I would only get the fog for 6-7 hours before it disappeared, so another strategy was to take it at night. I would suggest 0.25mg every 3rd day. I'm doing that with 1.25mg which seems to work fine enough, but a lot depends on how fast you're balding. I haven't lost any noticeable ground since I started on fin around 2012-13 experimenting with low doses, but it may just be luck.
  12. Buy a pill cutter online or at a pharmacy. I use one I got at a CVS. Takes a bit of trial and error but works much better than a sharp knife.
  13. It's a gamble but to what degree depends on a number of variables like age, family history, area of balding versus area of donor etc. If you post some pictures & more detail I'm sure people will chime in.
  14. 40 has been used as a general guide across a large bald area, with hairline areas up to 50 and areas far from the hairline 25-30.
  15. There was that guy who was performing his own FUE HT for absolutely nothing. A few grafts at a time over a couple of years. If someone has the link to his thread then please post it!
  16. I think I rotated between Tylenol and Vicodin every 4-6 hours. It was about 10 days worth of Vicodin only, but this was back in 2013.
  17. I don't really follow these guys but for relatively low cost/decent results there is Dr Saifi (Poland) and Dr Demirsoy. But don't take my word for it. Dig deep and see what you think. Demirsoy is actually quite conservative in his hairline placement for a Turkish doctor.
  18. Just looks like dry skin to me and quite normal.
  19. A few people have faired better than others. For me it was generally 'ok' but I did make sure to take a couple of weeks off work and early on set my alarm to take a pain killer every 4 hours for the first few days. Sometimes I would wake up with it stinging a bit. After about 5 days you will probably need to take less and after 2 weeks there should be no need. >I was told I shouldn't take pain meds for at least 3 days after my procedure That doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe they mean valium.
  20. If not H&W: Steve Gabel, Ron Shapiro and Jerry Cooley if sticking to North America.
