  1. Pay by credit card even if it adds a percentage fee. You are then covered if they go out of business or scam you.
  2. Comfort Suites is OK but it's no Hilton. Being a bit of cheapskate I stayed there and couldn't complain. You can get hot takeaway meals from Pete's Fresh Market across the road which will likely be cheaper than room service. There was a starbucks close by, 7-Eleven and Walgreens.
  3. Excellent for 7.5 months, and he still has loads of donor left in the bank
  4. Do they extract every single graft personally, do every single incision, oversee every single graft placement/orientation, and stay in the room 100% of the procedure? Cuoto possibly, but I honestly don't know about the others.
  5. With Dr K you pay a premium for peace of mind and zero f'ups. No misaligned grafts, doubles in the hairline, pluggy look, exhausted donor area... I'm not saying you couldn't end up with areas of poor growth, but at least you would be safe in the knowledge that nothing was done to increase the risk of it occuring. It would probably have been something out of the doctor's control.
  6. You should go and see https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/dr-timothy-carman in person, for an examination if nothing else.
  7. You probably want to give it a year or two to see how effective Fin is and whether you can tolerate any side effects (hopefully none). I'd forget the crown and sort out the front first (~2000 grafts). It looks like you have pretty limited donor area. Perhaps 4000 grafts total as a NW6/7. I don't know much about those doctors but i'd rather save up for someone more reputable.
  8. I think it was the guy called 'Portugal' maybe...

  10. It looks like you are just experiencing slow and gradual temple recession which may get worse over the next 10-15 years...or it may stay relatively stable. I think it looks too good to get a HT and if anything I would just get on Finasteride as an insurance policy.
  11. Fair enough but it looks and has similar properties and could be naturally low density. Not Israel but Dr B isn't far away and seems like a good guy based on his results and postings here: https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/dr-taleb-barghouthi
  12. Afro hair is usually lower density than caucasian which explains why the donor looks like it may be thinning, but it's too early to say how stable it will be long term. You're best off getting on the oral DUT and waiting at least 2 years to assess the effectiveness. Also if possible, take monthly pictures to monitor deterioration. If you live near a reputable HT doc it would be good to have them look at the donor, or use the 2 year period to see some of the top doctors in person.
  13. I know a temporary fix to get rid of that redness. What you need is a semi permanent hair dye in Blue, Purple or Turqoise. These usually have a squeezy tube (like a toothpaste tube) inside the box. If you mix it with conditioner and leave it in your hair for 10-15 minutes, after a few washes it lessens the reddish tint significantly. Alternatively you can also use this stuff below, which is also like a blue shampoo and has the same effect.
  14. I think Pinto has the numbers about right. I would factor having to go back in a couple of years and address the midscalp area, just in case that gets shocked out for any reason.
  15. Immediately after breakfast, so with food. I think it slows down absoption to a certain extent, which is useful when you are cutting down 5mg tablets.
  16. Oh yeah and the last time I went (January 2020) is was cold and snowed so bad my return flight was delayed 24 hours. We were circling the runway for 3 hours until they gave up at 11pm. BA paid for a hotel + uber costs etc.
  17. Nice city Melbourne. I was there just over 10 years ago. A friend lives off Chapel Street.. Well I've made that trip 3 times but from the UK, so only 6-7 hours flight. Actually it's quite nice going somewhere where there's not a chance of bumping into anyone you know. Ubers are really easy to get and you can find anything you need in Walmart. There's nearly always a Walmart within 15 minutes drive regardless of where you are in the US. 20 hours is quite a flight time. I'd email Dr K his opinion on how long to stay. It depends on how big a surgery, whether it's FUT/FUE etc.
  18. Agreed. Then perhaps 2500 to the frontal 3rd / half. There is a risk of permanent shockloss though which might put you back to square one.
  19. It's not that bad but if you absolutely had to do a HT then 1200 grafts to reinforce the existing hairline back to a solid NW2. NW1 is not advised for a 24 year old.
  20. No personal experience but he's one of the GOATs of HTs. You wont go wrong with him.
  21. 1mg a day is the official dose. But I've been around long enough to see people have good success 3 x 1.25mg a week. Some even do well with 0.25mg daily, others 0.5mg every other day.
  22. 3 days a week is enough. Start with Monday, Wednesday, Friday (or any other 3 day a week rota) and see how it goes
