  2. For me personally, topical finasteride didn’t work - Been on it for a year and still have one more bottle to go. Very much agree with what bill2833 is saying, I couldn’t find many reviews on the topical treatment anywhere. Had to see for myself. Overall, there was no side effects nor any improvement i could see. I thought it was a safer option, that’s why i went for it.
  3. This is the best news I have heard in a while. I ended up going with the pills for trial purposes, but fear not I'll be switching over to the topical treatment after the months supply.. I referred a mate of mine to Dr.Kash and he said it is the best service he has had in a while!! Turns out a prescription can be given for the topical finasteride after all. Pretty happy with the outcome of this thread. Cheers doc
  4. So I have finally decided to take the plunge and get on finasteride, BUT I am in a dilemma. It's between the Topical Finasteride and the Oral treatment. I'm not so sure which one to take! Ideally I would much rather go for the topical solution only because of the negative reviews read on the oral treatment. I mean if applied the sides won't be as bad as ingesting the tablet orally right? Certainly when it comes down to family planning, you wouldn't have to get off it? The topical Finasteride i would like to go for is provided by Farmacia Parati in Italy, as it is also recommended by Hasson & Wong. Unfortunately since I haven't been able to find a doctor in the Uk who can authorise this prescription, a shipment cannot be made. So meanwhile I managed to find an alternative; A hair clinic in Manchester who can prescribe Finasteride Combined with Minoxidil. This is shipped from Follifuel Pharmaceuticals, the cost is right about 40 pounds a month. I've had bad experience with minoxidil in the past but I'd be willing to give it another shot. What is your take on this? Advice and recommendations more than welcome.
  5. What do you guys know about this product? and what do you think? anyone tried it yet Breakthrough hair loss product works on stem cells - Telegraph
  6. @ Hariri i do apply Nizoral Only Once a week too, however i am considering once every two weeks since i reduced minoxidil application to only once a day. @1978matt, thats what the pharmacist said to me today as well. But does that mean minoxidil aggrivates it? should i stop it? quite abit of speculations there to go with as i looked it up. What is your opinion on this matter since you went through this ordeal besides what you recommeneded which i appreciate?
  7. took two pictures to show what i am suffering from, ofcourse it changes all the time, as it is now. I even went off minoxidil for a week but nothing changed it seemed to get worse, Or maybe i should have gone off it longer ? Gp's reply was not to worry about it. He asked me to slowly reduce the hydrocortisone cream usage, so i thought that might be the cause but it wasnt. Confusing really, Gp keep wasting my time i just want to get down to it. Any suggestions?
  8. Cheers 1978matt . I agree, i already do have an appointment for tomorrow morning set =]
  9. I am not too sure on whether or not anyone in the family do have Rosacea. But come to think of it at one point before i got on minoxidil, the side of nose used to itch badly then it gets red and flares up with dry skin, is that Rosacea symptoms? I cant tell, although my uncle at one point had a rash like spots on his cheeks, not sure if that is linked. However, you do make a valuable point, no sign of any side effects on the scalp from the use of minoxidil. Question just to be safe What do you mean by flakiness of the scalp? Again thanks for your time to reply very much appreciated.
  10. Hello, I started using Kirkland and Nizoral shampoo about 3 months ago. Since starting the regimen, I've seemed to have acquired a rash on my face, across the bridge of my nose and a little into my cheeks. It's scaly/flaky. It came up around 3 months ago and it hasn't gone away too much since. The Gp prescribed me hydrocortisone cream And some antibiotics. It went away but then came back a month after. i was doing some house work, showered then later that day it started appearing? Is it Minoxidil? or Nizoral Shampoo (only use it once a week)? Thanks guys
  11. Hi i would like to know if it is true that Minoxidil 5% loses its effectiveness over the years or is it just a myth? i dont want my hair to drop all of the sudden that is my fear sure is everyone elses who ever is on it. what is a good DHT blocker?
  12. Has Anyone used Minoxidil 12.5% + Azelaic Acid Cream ? if so would you recommend it? Where can it be found?
  13. Thehairupthere, cheers for that. What kind of minoxidil product is best possible? what would happen if i do happen to use propecia at my current age? I am a male. I do have a picture in my profile of my head to show my hair loss. Thank you
  14. So i went to my GP, i was told my hair is thining in some parts (male pattern baldness). He printed off what i need to know about it from Patient.co.uk to have a read through and decide for my next appointment. He mentioned the two treatments would be Propecia (finasteride) And Minoxidil. Since i am 25 of age he suggested i start with minoxidil foam because he does not want me to suffer from any side effects. What would your thoughts about this be? and what shoud i do. I am left in confusion? Thanks
