  1. Do you have more photos of how it looked w/ the bad hairline shaved and long?
  2. Can you clarify what this means? Is there a particular donor area on the head that should be used for hairline?
  3. Thanks Blake and everyone for all the input. I will be on vacation w/ no access to phone/email until I return in 2 weeks. I will speak to Dr Diep regarding my concerns when I return.
  4. I had 1200 grafts procedure done 12 months ago w/ Dr Diep and have some questions and concerns about my results. I have my 1 year follow up appointment in a couple of weeks but would like input before my appointment so I can better address all my concerns during the meeting. I've decided to hold most of my judgements and concerns until the 12 months mark because I did not want to jump to any premature conclusions. Provided below are before and after photos w/ my concerns and questions. The first pic is the before pic on the day of surgery. As you can see, my right corner is receding higher than my left corner so more grafts were needed on one side. Direction/Angle My biggest concern and what is bothering me the most is the direction and angle of the transplanted hair. My frontal hair is angled forward, but the transplanted hair angles up and to the side. Does this appear unnatural? I would expect the transplanted hair to have a natural direction to blend in with my native hairs. The transplanted hair is also a lot more thicker than my native hair so it just sticks out to the side when it grows longer. My barber can even tell it's different and it's a lot harder to style if my hair grows longer. Thinning behind hairline My hair is also thinning behind my hairline so you can see it seems patchy. It is especially thinning on my right corner compared to my left corner. What is suggested to make it even? Do I need an additional procedure? Donor area For some reason, the hair was removed from my back and left side above ear but not my right side. There was a big cyst on the left side after the surgery and went away in a month. As you can see on the last pic on my left side, there are areas where it looks patchy and a hole appears where the cyst used to be. I was hoping it would regrow, but it doesn't look it will now. What can be done/should be about this? Overall, it has been a tough 12 months as I've tried to save my hair longer so I can style it to cover up certain areas. I was really hoping everything would solve itself by 12 months but I guess I can only hope it will be better by 18 months. Please understand this post is not mean to attack Dr Dieps work, but to better understand my concerns and what needs to be done to make it better. I just want to be happy w/ my results. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
  5. What's the point of going on propecia/finasteride for only 4 months? Will you lose what you gained or get even worse if you stop the drug?
  6. Had 1200 grafts done for hairline a year ago but was wondering how many grafts do I have left if I choose to do FUE again sometime in the future?
  7. 3k grafts seems like a lot for FUE. Did the doctor remove 1500 grafts from one portion of the back of your head first and the the other ~1500 grafts on the other half side? Or was the removal at random locations of the back of the head throughout the 2 days? The reason why I ask is because I already had 1500 grafts done via FUE a year ago and was hoping to do 1500 more via FUE sometime in the future.
  8. Thanks for sharing. I too agree that the only and best way for some people for regrowth is a hair transplant. Sometimes it's not worth all the trouble to go through testing all these chemicals/meds and seeing what works best for your hair. By the time you're done testing w/ all these products, you've shed way more hair than what you would have if you didn't start at all. Messing w/ sexual health, brain/memory health, facial aging etc is not worth experimenting for me.
  9. What are my options if I get bad side effects from both finasteride and minoxidil?
  10. I had 1200 grafts done for my hairline December 2012 with Dr Diep and I was hoping to get another FUE procedure to fill the heavy thinning areas behind the hairline but Dr Diep says it's too early after my last surgery. How long do I need to wait?
  11. I chose a time when I could take most days off work, which was week before Xmas.
  12. If i decide to start on minoxidil and finasteride, will I need to use it everyday for the rest of my life? What if I realize bad side effects and stop taking them after use? Will my hair get worse than even before starting?
  13. Does meds and minoxidil affect the transplanted hair or the original hair?
  14. What's the frequency of the talogen phase? Does it occur every year or only after the 2-7 year anagen phase?
  15. What's the phase called when a lot of your hair sheds and how long does this phase last?
  16. Does your transplanted hair from the first procedure suffer from shock loss after the 2nd procedure?
  17. So would it be safe to say one can hold off on finasteride/minoxidil until he reaches closer to 6-7000 grafts?
  18. 70%?? That's like paying double to have pretty bad yield compared to FUT!
  19. Can multiple HT procedures just be as effective in achieving a fuller look when one chooses not to bother with taking daily finasteride and minoxidil? I know the general recommendation here is to take both, but if money was not a concern at all and someone had a really busy lifestyle (e.g. celebrity status), can they skip the daily finasteride and minoxidil if they can afford to just get frequent procedures?
  20. If I had 1200 grafts done via FUE a year ago, can I do it again in the future? Will the success rate be affected?
  21. At least double your price since I got fue from a Dr on this network.
  22. 1000 seems very little. I got 1200 and hair wasn't receding as bad but now I think I need more to get a thicker look in crown
