  1. I usually always keep my hair buzzed so maybe I could just start growing my hair and if people ask I'd say when I grow it out the baldness gets covered? Or I guess that might not work? Or what if I said hair loss drugs helped me? Or do you guys just recommend I just tell the truth? Thanks!
  2. Lol I actually have no plan yet. I was hoping I could get some advice. Thanks!
  3. Thanks guys! I do plan on taking three weeks off work so I'm not as worrier about people noticing the redness and scabs as I am about people noticing the hair come in later and wonder how I now have more hair. Or should I also be worried about coming back to work after three weeks? I guess the donor scar would still be pretty noticeable? Thanks!
  4. im currently in a more advanced stage of hair loss (nw 5 i think) and am planning on getting a hair transplant for ~4500 grafts. im unsure what to tell friends and coworkers afterwards. im guessing if all goes well with the surgery, to my friends/coworkers, it will be pretty obvious that i have more hair. id ideally prefer to keep having an ht secret. just wondering if anyone has advice or any similar experiences. thanks!
  5. thanks a lot for all the responses guys, greatly appreciated! i meant to thank u all earlier, but i kept forgetting my password and got lazy with trying to get it reset. i still haven't decided but i think if i do go ahead with teh transplant, i am leaning towards going with FUT, based on most of the advice here.
  6. hi guys just wondering if ic ould plz get some advice. i am trying to decide whether to get a hair transplant or not and am really undecided. i have tentatively booked a date with dr rahal in ottawa. i have lost quite a bit of hair for my age, im 28 and maybe nw 5, not really sure what i am on the norwood scale but i am thinning all over. although i would definitely look better with hair, i have been buzzing my head down to a #1 and my friends tell me the shaved head look suits me. plus ive never had surgery before and am kind of worried about how painful it will be and how painful i would feel after too. the original recommendation was for 4500 grafts, and a fut. lastly, i know this shouldn't be an issue, but i just wonder how people will react when they find out i had a hair transplant. especially co workers and friends, they will think im vain and all and i may lose confidence with them poking fun at me for having it done. on the other hand, the hair loss does bother me. it would be great to never have to worry about it again and thankfully i can afford a hair transplant. just wanted to get any suggestions or thoughts. thanks a lot guys!
  7. hi guys i was just wondering if i could get some advice: i am currently i think nw5 or maybe early nw6, not really sure, but i am thinking of a hair transplant with dr rahal. since i am in a more advanced stage of hair loss, he has recommended 4000 grafts. im still undecided whether to go with fue or fut. if i do fue, it would have to be in two separate sessions of 2000 grafts. here are the pros and cons i can think of: fut pros: better graft yield cheaper only would need to do one session dr rahal more experienced doing fut fue pros: not as noticeable a scar, so i can buzz my hair which i like doing less painful healing time quicker, so less issues with returning to work and having people notice (im planning on taking 3 weeks off though, but i guess if the healing time is quicker maybe i could even take a vacation after 10-14 days?) the other thing is i might be getting married next december and it would be nice to have more hair for the wedding, so if i do fue, i dont know how long i would have to wait for my second session. they do say it takes a year for the hair to grow any thoughts or suggestions? thanks!
