  1. Oh I forgot to mention that even my barber didn't realize what I had done. I had to point out the tiny scars where the donors were taken, which is funny since he does a skin fade on me each time I see him - there's not hiding anything with that!! I showed him the before and after pics and he nearly fell over. He told me that he may give Dr. Cooley a call as well. One comment he made was "I thought something was off since your hair kept getting thicker and that never happens!" haha
  2. Hi CatInTheHat, First of all thank you! Answers below... 1. No it did not look weird at all, in fact it was almost imperceptible. I knew they were coming in because I was looking for them. Nobody else did - in fact I had to point them out to my wife. It's so gradual the average person won't notice. 2. Prior to the procedure he put me on a round of antibiotics to avoid infection, but otherwise it was just the standard Fin/Min prescriptions which I was already on like you are. I've attached a pic from yesterday. The hair has gotten thicker as I have gone through at least one dormant phase which was virtually unnoticeable compared to my prior dormant phases which really caused a lot of anxiety for me. All I noticed was that it wasn't growing compared to a thinning which is what I use to experience. I'm happy to talk more if you'd like, shoot me a PM with you phone number and we can chat. You are in great hands if you choose to work with Dr. Cooley - I need to go see him soon for a follow-up so he can take my "after" pics for the website. I'm beyond thrilled and just told my wife that this was always what I wanted and hoped for. I wouldn't change a thing.
  3. This is a couple of days after my last haircut which is a skin fade so there's no hiding any sort of scarring. Beyond thrilled with Dr. Cooley's work.
  4. Thank you! I think if I lowered it I wouldn't be comfortable. I think it's age appropriate as it is which is what I was after, and now it has the density that I was hoping for.
  5. Thanks everyone for the comments! I'm thrilled with the result and agree with all the positive comments about Dr. Cooley. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon. I'm sorry I haven't taken any pics of the donor. I'm due a haircut so when I have it done I will take some pics then - unless you'd like to see it a little grown out?
  6. I'll take some pics tomorrow. Thanks everyone!
  7. Thank you! I can't tell you how pleased I am with my result.
  8. Here are a few long overdue updates. I'm beyond thrilled with the results and wish I had done this 10 years ago! Absolutely zero regrets with my choice of surgeons and I cannot recommend Dr. Cooley highly enough.
  9. I wear mine that short as well and my wife says the only reason she notices is because she knows I had it done. Honestly, I don't care even if people did notice the back. As long as the top looks good that's all I care about.
  10. Another update at 14 weeks. I'm absolutely stunned at the difference and even if things stopped right now, I'd still be thrilled. This comparison if from this morning and March of 2022. Not subtle IMO!!
  11. 14 week update. Definitely seeing a darkening and new hairs starting to come thru. Wow that wait was brutal!!
  12. That's what I was thinking. An ingrown hair is typically a sign of something not going right - which is why I was surprised to see people so happy to see them.
  13. Got it, but not all come in ingrown - some will come up normally right?
  14. I've seen quite a few posts stating that seeing pimples in the donor recipient area is "a good sign". Can someone explain that to me? Just curious more than anything.
  15. Yes. Mine grows very fast and I watched all the transplanted hairs grow for about a month until they all shed. That sucked!
  16. I disagree, since I just had FUE surgery with him 3 months ago! Here's a link to my results so far. https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/69380-1000-grafts-fue-dr-cooley/
  17. Update: I'm at the 12 week mark and I am starting to feel some stubble coming through in the recipient area as I washed my hair this morning, which seems to be right on track for timing. Super exciting! No new pics but as they start to come in more I will do my best to document.
  18. Check with your surgeon, but mine is always pretty short but I let the donor area grow out a little bit. Once I got there he cut it to where he wanted it which I would say was around a #1 guard?
  19. I notice an increase in anxiety for a couple of hours after I take oral Min, but nothing else.
  20. Here's what has worked for me. 1. Watch the carbs! 2. Protein and veggies! 3. Stop eating at 6pm - this will work wonders but it sucks!! 4. Drink lots of water - I typically drink 2-3L a day 5. Stay away from salty foods as you will retain water and it's a real de-motivator. 6. Regular exercise - mix of cardio and weight training. Keeps metabolism purring along.
  21. I've used the Revita shampoo for years. It was recommended to me by Dr. Cooley.
  22. I had no problem paying for a consult, and it was applied to my surgery. Money well spent.
