I had an eyebrow transplant about a month ago. I have always (since the age of 12/13) had a very mild form of dermatitis on my eybrows- a few very small flakes which could easily be removed by gently stroking my fingers over the eyebrows. Two weeks after my transplant i began developing a very different form of dermatitis: this time the flakes are very big, they stick to my eyebrow hairs and are planting themselves into the skin around the eyebrow hairs. It is possible that the special shampoo for use after the transplant, which causes dandruff, has helped caused this or perhaps the special oil to be applied to my eyebrows-but it is not two weeks since i stopped using that shampoo and this problem has not receded. I have even been using an anti-dermatitis shampoo but with little success. Do any dermatologists recognise what is happening here and what might have caused it? Also what would you recommend my doing? Many thanks, Jonny

I had an eyebrow transplant 5 days ago and had been using a saline spray regularly but stopped on the third day because my eyes had started to become quite irritated. They are still hurting and i daren't use my hands to open up my eyelids and rinse the eyes with water in case i dislodge some of the grafts nestling just above. I have tried spraying small amounts of cold water but it seems to further irritate the eye-i think some of the solution had evidently dried on my eyelashes and spraying causes it to dissolve and enter my eyes. I'm rather worried in case my eye might be being damaged in some way and also that as they are bloodshot that perhaps the blood supply in the vicinity is being diverted to my eye rather than helping to 'feed' the grafts in the eyebrow area. Are these at all legitimate concerns or needless anxiety on my part? Also is there anything i should be doing to help reduce the sensitivity of both eyes?

Why is the private messaging facility disabled? Who authorised this? What was the reasoning behind this decision? This forum claims to be by patients and for patients. If this is to be the case it must be seen that there is a means whereby prospective patients as well as past and current ones can communicate freely without fear or prejudice. It is essential that the private messaging facility be reinstated.
