  1. I recently had an FUT hair transplant of around 900 grafts and had a question regarding early growth. It's been only 23 days, and I've noticed at least 70% of the hair have started to sprout already. I have had two previous transplants, 1 FUT and an FUE, and both followed the regular timeline of a shed at 2-3 weeks, a dormant period of around 4 months, then the growth. On this occasion however, it appears as though the implanted hairs immediately started growing. Started shedding about two weeks in, but immediately started growing stubble in their place. The current state now, is strong 'sprouts', plus initial hairs that have grown, but haven't shed yet. I'm also starting to get the ingrown hair pimples that previously only happened at 3-4 months post op. This time, the doctor did give me low dose oral minoxidil to replace my topical. Not sure if this is the difference. I am wondering though, if there are cases where this has occurred before with anyone else?
  2. Thanks for the response. My hair loss is actually an a pattern [Front to back] so from what I've heard [Re: Docs] it's unlikely that the sides/crown ever get too bad. Unfortunately the frontal area requires a bucket load of grafts. Regarding the scar it's fortunately very thin [Albeit a little elevated]. Considering I have a time limit on my hair density I would probably opt to thicken the hair line in the same treatment [With FUE] and get a good 2-3 years with seemingly thick hair until it's time to say sayonara. Beard hair sounds like a great option. I imagine once buzzed to a number 1 or 2 the beard hair wouldn't seem too out of place in comparison to the native hair? Btw: Prior to my second HT I figured I'd give a shaved head with SMP a try. To the naked eye it was seemingly undetectable but I definitely noticed bleeding of the ink Especially in the [tiny] FUE scars which they tried to cover. The other issue is hair growth, you really did need to stay on top of the shaving. If you went a day without a shave [Whether due to holidays etc] the contrast between native hair became very obvious. Australia for HT does suck unfortunately. I've found on both occasions the 20+ hour flights are far worse than the actual treatment.
  3. I've look into DUT but it hasn't been something I have strongly considered. The results appear to be hit and miss for the risk.
  4. Just a quick bump. Hopefully someone has an insight. No rush.
  5. I've had two hair transplants. Sun exposure isn't too bad - just take the same precautions you normally would in the sun. Keep a cap on for the most part when you're outside & try to avoid the harshest hours. I was at the beach about 6 weeks after both of my transplants and the growth wasn't hampered on either occasion. Impromptu walks down the street from office to office etc shouldn't be a problem. It's prolonged exposure thats the issue.
  6. Hey guys, As the thread suggests I'm hoping to get some recommendations of doctors for strip scar repair. I've previously had a 2100 graft FUE & a 2600 graft FUT. Fortunately my strip scar is fairly thin, the downside however is that [Despite Fin + Minox] the hair loss is progressing & in 2-3 years will probably be time to buzz it off. As I live in Australia travel is virtually a give in. I know some of the best FUE work comes out of Turkey but I haven't been able to get a response on whether they do FUE into the scar. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Cheers.
  7. I'm from Sydney. I've been to Belgium & Thailand for HT's. It sucks so bad that we have no docs. In fact our doctors are almost criminal. around 15k for a few thousand grafts. You can get flights, hotel, more grafts & a far superior doctor for less money. The HT's themselves are easy in comparison to the flights. Belgium was almost 40 hours including an 8 hour wait in an Abu Dhabi airport. Thailand is a great option though. Unfortunately it's only strip so you would have to do something via fue/bht with someone like Dr Hakan if you want to buzz down/thin further.
