    Procede ?

I think I'm pretty up and up on the current hair loss treatments, but last night I caught a commercial on something called "Procede" which I've never heard of before. Apparently, you only apply it ONCE every 90 days or something crazy like that. The before and after pics look promising without looking fake. So, what is this stuff? Is it a consealer or a treatment? Is it a scam? http://www.procede-hair.com/index.html Thats the site for anyone interested.

  3. Hairworthy- I believe I did experience shedding after I discontinued use of the Propecia.. I figured I basicly lost the hair I would have anyway if I had never taken Propecia to begin with... is that true, or does stopping Propecia induce even MORE shedding (like stopping minoxidil) ? Essentially, what I'm trying to do is put off having a HT for as long as I can. I know the topicals arent going to "save" my hair, and argueabally neither would Propecia. The DR I had a consultation with said that with a HT, I never have to take Propecia anyway, and I have no problem every so often getting a "touch up". As far as experiencing Propecia's side effects, I agree I'm in the minority, however, I'm not alone... I've read on this site, and a few others, people who have also experienced side effects - it's not as rare as you'd think. I have also read that people, like myself, have experienced said effects over a year into their treatment. Finally, I've only been off of Propecia for about six monthes... if I get back on, albeit a recuced dosage, think it would be possible to get back the hair I've shedded in my off time ? A B
  4. Hey guys- I first noticed I was thining about two years ago, @ 22, although I suspect that it has been going on since I was about 18 or 19. I didnt notice until the loss was pretty significant, because my hair was so thick as a teenager, and I dyed it a lot which is what I attributed the loss to. So at 22, when I finally accepted what was happening, I was BEYOND crushed. I had been in denial for a few monthes because I knew what was going to happen if I let myself accept the reality of the situation - I had a total nervous breakdown. I probably didnt leave the house for a few weeks, seriously. What followed this was severe depression, quite litterally. I started on Rogain in the month following, and experienced the initial shedding, which made things worse (mentally speaking). Several monthes later, I started on Propecia and quit Rogain (just as it probably started to work, but what can I say, I got discourged). I never really experienced anything significant with Propecia, honestly. Maybe it slowed down the loss that would have happened anyway. My dermatologist said that it's impossible to know where you'd be without it, so you really odnt know if it ever worked or not. In either case, about 14monthes in, I started to suffer the "side effects". I dealt with it, hoping it would get better on it's own. The end of July, my urologist suggested I stop taking it. I did, and I dont feel comfortable going back on it. I had a consultation with Dr. Feller who seemed like world-class HT doctor. Very nice guy, very down to Earth. He said I'm not ready for a HT, and that he noticed some difused thinning but overall my hair seemed strong and healthy. He said other Dr's may operate on me to "thicken up" my hair, but they are frauds. His opinion is that I am growing into my "adult hairline" and I may never need a HT. But on the same token, he noted that his "crystal ball was in the shop" and you never know what genetics have in store for you. He then showed me his own transplant, which, honestly, I wasnt crazy about ... but he also said that he wasnt done, and was going to get the back filled in. He said he wasnt on anything else (propecia, rogain, etc), and you dont need to be (contrary to a LOT of opinions in this forum). Finally, he said I have good donor hair for when or if the time comes. I'm not convinced that this is just my "adult hair line" as I've seen the degeration over the last two years. So, as of right now I'm doing 5% Kirkland Brand Minoxidil (2x daily), Revivogen (1x daily), Nioxin Actives Cleanser, Scalp Therapy and Cytonutrient, Nizoral 1% (2-3 times a week), and MSM (daily.... Im not too sure about the hair benefits, but I have joint problems too, so maybe I can kill two birds). As of today, I am dumping the Revivogen.. putting on THREE topicals daily is just too much, I would dump Revivogen over Minoxidil, obviously. Here is my new regimin, Please let me know what you all think! Kirkland Minoxidil (1x daily, @ morning) Xandrox 5% (1x daily, @ night, available @ minoxidil.com) Spironolactone lotion 5% (1x daily, @ night, available @ minoxidil.com) Hairmax Lasercomb (3x weekly, I just bought this, it hasnt even arrived yet) Nizoral 1% (man, I bought the 1% totally accidently! I'll switch to 2% when I'm done with it, 3x weekly) Nioxin Products Daily MSM (1 teaspoon daily) --- So, what do you guys think? Especially on the Dr. Lee's products (the Xandrox, and the Spiro)? I'm hoping the combination of the azelaic acid in the Xandrox, and the Spiro are enough to block the DHT and the Lasercomb, minixodil, and Nizoral can stimulate growth/regrowth. Of course, Im skeptical. Any opinions would be greatly appriciated ! A

  6. Aside from price, can anyone tell me the downside to FUE ? As far as I know, no scar, correct ? And since the skin isnt being removed, does the hair that gets taken out regrow in the back also ?

    FUE ?

  8. Thanks for the time and effort, Robert. But if we may go back to square one... What good have you heard from people who actually were sucessful with Revivogen? I cant help but feel the money I put toward Revivogen would have been more useful toward a lasercomb... The stuff is so freakin expensive! So what have you heard, aside from stuff on the site, from real people, about Revivogen ? (PS: Where does your guy, Dr. Shapiro, practice out of ?)
  9. Robert- Thanks for the research, btw. Your HT looks fantastic. Did you get any grafts applied to the crown? Your hairline looks great ! As for Dermmatch, I'm impressed! I may pick some up to try it out ! More pics would be greatly appriciated! A
  10. Some more from the cust. service rep @ Revivogen... I asked about tossing in Nioxin tot he Revivogen / Minoxidil regimin... heres what they have to say: I would not recommend taking their supplements. The shampoo is fine though. You can alternate with Revivogen shampoo. Inhibits DHT Production: Revivogen YES Inhibits Type 1 &2 5ar Nioxin NO Supplement increases DHT production Blocks DHT Attachment: Revivogen YES Nioxin NO Activatev Hair Follicle Growth: Revivogen YES Nioxin NO Safe For Both Men And Women: Revivogen YES Nioxin YES Potential Side Effects: Revivogen NO Nioxin NO -- Come on now, they say Nioxin supplement increases DHT? Now I really feel like a sucker tossing them my $100 so easily... Im still gonna use it faithfully, but am worried I wasted my money. I will keep this thread alive with my results, or lack there of.
  11. dandare75 - good luck with your surgery. Where does Dr. Shaprio practice?
  12. Here are a few emails I recieved from Revivogen, in regards to how to apply Revivogen while using Minoxidil, and why it hasnt been approved by the FDA: Revivogen is applied once a night before bed.In the morning you wash and style as normal. You will not need to apply minoxidil twice a day (anymore) if you use Revivogen. Because there must be a 3 hour time span in between the two, some users report that applying Minoxidil when they first arrive home in the evening and then applying Revivogen just before bed works pretty well. This allows them to get the benefit of both products without styling problems because you are able to wash your hair in the morning. Minoxidil is a growth stimulant. While it does not stop DHT from harming the hair follicle, it does stimulate the follicle and keeps it in the anagen (growth) phase. So Minoxidil will compliment Revivogen because they do two different jobs and they can work hand in hand. Minoxidil alone will fail in the long run because it does not have the ability to prevent hairloss by blocking DHT. It must be coupled with a DHT inhibitor to achieve and maintain success. Revivogen is a stand alone product and it is not necessary to use with other products. However, (our success rate is 88%--we wish it were 100%) for some users, the best way to achieve individual results of success was by adding the growth stimulant to their regimen. It needs at least three hours to properly absorb. ----- Here is why they say it hasnt been approved: Because Revivogen is an all natural product ( Revivogen contains no medicines, is not systemic and has no side effects) FDA approval is not required. We are the only non- FDA approved hair loss product endorsed by the AHLA. (please see attachment). -- What do you all think of that? I dunno, all natural or not I feel that an FDA approval makes the product a LOT more legit.. wouldnt any product maker want it, natural or not ?
  13. Are the results from the "My Hair Transplantation" section on the main page typical? Or did that guy just luck out? His results seem absolutly fantastic. So, if not typical, what was unique about his transplant ? A

  15. Bill- I just ordered myself a 3-month supply to start with (and Damn, is it expensive). Win, lose, or draw, I plan on sticking with it for at least 6-monthes and I will keep this thread active with how it works out for me throughout. A
  16. I was actually most interested in the lasercomb... I had thought it was just another fly-by-night scam, but the results were there for the guy - it didnt regrow, but the hair he has got thicker.. That is just what I'm looking for, in addition to blocking DHT, etc. If all the hair I still have just got thicket and healthy, I'd be more than happy !
  17. Good luck, Bill, with the HT. What worries me most about Revivogen (and, yes, admitedly, I just put in my order yesterday) is that, while Im going to follow the program, I cant help but feel that because of my vulnerability I got suckered. It wasnt approved by the FDA for hair loss? If it works, why not? I started on Nioxin (shampoo, scalp therapy, and that foam stuff) which I feel really good about, it seems like some high quality stuff that isnt overt in it's promises. Anyone PERSONALLY have any positive experiences with Revivogen ?
  18. It could smell like whatever, if it works, I'll be thrilled.
  19. Robert- Sounds good... their claiming the product works BETTER than Propecia has me pretty skeptical, tho, admitedly. Now, how would I go about finding out how to use Revivogen in addition to my established minoxidil routine? A
  20. Has anyone had luck with Revivogen? Considering adding it to my minoxidil, nioxin (just picked up the shampoo tonight) regimin.... but at $99 for a 3-month supply, and their somewhat hokey claim that it works better than Propecia.. has anyone had any personal experience? Also, can I use it in conjunction with minoxidil ? A

  22. Congradulations on things working out for you. Even though I dont know you, it's nice to hear things working out for someone with our shared problem. Do you do anything in addition to your transplant ?
  23. Smoothy- Where on the web would you reccomen buying Nioxin? A
  24. Big1- So let me ask you this, is it possible that the sexual side effects of propecia could appear a year, or more, into taking the medication? Maybe the problems I'm experiencing are stemming from something else ? (as embarrasing and difficult that is to contemplate, much less post on a message board) Everyone else- Is that true? That it's pointless to get a HT if not on propecia? I'm definitly going to invest in scalpal DHT blockers, nioxin, and MSM. BTW, is it true that it takes about 1 year of continious useage of minoxidil for it to start seriously working?
