  1. Nothing personal man, but I'm not seeing any evidence that that would assist in inhibiting DHT. If anything, a google search seems to imply that transdermal pregnenolone causes hair loss. Are you talking about a topical solution or a pill?
  2. How does it work? Is it similar to the natural solutions that everyone seems to be fond of? Has anyone else tried it?
  3. It's working for me in the front. The guys on here are gonna tell you to get on Propecia--just be aware of the side effects. I choose not to.
  4. Hey dude, been on Rogaine for about 14 months (I'm now 20) and it's been working pretty well for retaining my hairline and growing back some. Just make sure you stick with it--it's easy to ignore and put off, I originally bought the stuff and kept it for 5 months before I decided to use it daily.
  5. Anybody else use Rogaine alone? I've had great success on keeping my frontal hairline from progressing even more--though I've recently noticed my crown thinning. I've started using the foam there, and since I reacted well to it in the front, it will likely work the same or better in the back right? It's been about 2 1/2 weeks and I think I'm coming out of the shedding phase, looking for a little bit of encouragement I suppose (but not false hope). How long until you guys saw optimal results?
  6. Has anybody tried using this? From what I've discerned from websites here and there (trying to sift through the sites set up to sell snake oil), it seems to work a little better than most "natural" medicines, without the potential side affects a full dose of saw palmetto might have. So? And please don't tell me to get on Propecia. It's not happening.
  7. You mean don't be scared of potential irreversible side effects? I know Merck claims them to be reversible--but in Europe, they are suggested on the packaging.

  9. Thanks--I'm also using Rogaine. Not going to mess with Propecia though.
  10. Any evidence that this increases or helps hair loss? I've heard conflicting opinions. I've always used it for dandruff, but now that I've added Nizoral I don't know if it's worth using the rest of the week.
  11. 1% or 2%? I'm actually looking for some people's opinions since I started using the 1% every three days about a week ago.
  12. I was just concerned about shedding in the new area. From what I've read, Nizoral seems to work alright. Especially 1%. But I'm not going to get on Propecia--whether or not side effects develop within the first few months, they can come on with a vengeance at anytime after that. There are quite a few personal accounts of people finding themselves impotent after ten years of successive use.
  13. Bonker that's nice and all, but it's about temporary loss from 2% in HT patients.
  14. I've been using Nizoral 1%, and on the bottle it recommends to stop use after about 8 weeks. I know it's only approved for dandruff treatment, so I'm assuming the recommendation assumes your dandruff would be cured at that point. Would there be any risk with continuous use for DHT blocking?
  15. I started losing my hair at 17, and starting using Rogaine at 19 to combat my receding hairline. I had a shedding period, but it's been ultimately pretty effective at slowing loss and keeping hair thick. I'm nearly 21 now, and have started to lose in my crown area as well. Now that I'm applying minoxidil to this area, is it normal to expect additional shedding at first? I've also added Nizoral 1% in the past week, how long until one should expect to see some result from that? Or is it more of a preventative measure?
