  1. Just a point, I had my HT with Farjo and very pleased, service excellent and the fact he is busy for 6 months should be seen as a positive just as someone else being able to fit you in straightaway and who is cheaper could be a concern (although shouldnt put you off if your research is good and your happy with your choice) Never eat in an empty restaurant! Good luck wherever you go!
  2. Hi guys, Im at same stage, had HT on March 2nd and just the last week growth started to come through. Lot of tingling of scalp and hey presto. Now comes the more positive period. Good luck to you all. Had 2916 grafts with Dr Farjo
  3. Well its 11 weeks ish! and everything settled down. I think hair looking better but cant be new growth and must be shockloss regrowing. Also I have a good few grey/white hairs growing quickly and never had any before. Not sure if Minoxidil is affecting the colour? Anyway I am getting organised and found a photo of top view taken 5 days after HT. The grafts,as you will see, were focused on density mid to front. I am feeling tingling in my scalp now and still taking my vitamins etc. Had my haircut twice in last few weeks and nobody seemed to notice, I was worried they were cutting too short but in the end all ok. Its the simplest things that you end up worried about. I will try and upload photo now from 5 days after HT, then in next week I will take a current one and upload that for early comparison. (Just editing blog as system will not let me upload photo, it says my available memory is -292k and even though photo is 184k and I have never put a photo on it shows a negative available and wont let me upload aaaaaggggghhhhhhhhhh I could pull my air out!!!!!!)
  4. Hi DGee I read the thread starting off with issues with Advanced . I cant comment on them but I can comment on Farjo if that helps. I would also echo other views posted about doing your research. I had HT with Farjo on March 2nd this year and of course its too early to see the results but I have two things to say. Firstly in all my research I found nothing credible to stop me going ahead with them and found so many positive comments and results. Mick who I see has posted in the thread was so open with information and offers for me to meet up with previous clients etc, I felt like I was asking him for too much info but nothing was too much trouble and in fact he was more demanding that I did my research than I was. Secondly, I cannot fault the professionalism from consultations to arrangements for the day and accommodation etc. The procedure on the day was smooth and the staff caring and supportive and Im not the bravest of patients but no problems. My scar has healed up great with no problems, scalp in great condition and initial shockloss regrowing. I am at 10 wks mark and hopefully on the verge of the start of growth period. Please feel free to message me and check my progress as the results start to appear. I cant comment on any other practices as I do not have experience of them but I would recommend Farjos and Mick is a great guy to answer any questions as I found out! Good Luck whatever you do.
  5. I am exactly the same, in fact I did a search of forums with keyword 'white hairs' to find this thread as I was so curious. Im confused as had never spotted any grey/white hairs before. The main confusion is that I am only at wk 10 having had 2916 grafts on March 2nd, I can understand the odd short white hair in recipient area which may have sprouted quickly but I too have much longer white hairs coming through sides and further back and they are over 1inch long infact more like 2 inch (in 10wks!?) I am on minoxidil, and taking usual vitamins and msm.
  6. Hi UK, I had 2916 grafts on 2nd March this year with Dr Farjo so we are a couple of weeks apart. I have had a fair bit of native hair grow back but no signs of any stubble yet. My scalp is in great condition and my strip scar great also. I am just waiting like you, I would say with number of grafts you had and the fact they probably not even start to show yet you will have a great result. I will follow your progress, I did start a blog, only put two posts and fully intend to upload some photos when I get time. We will compare results. Good luck.
  7. Well its 2 months today since my HT and everything settling down. Scar healing well and my scalp is far less red and back to normal. Not much on the growth front but another month or two is what everyone says is starting growth period. This will be a long month waiting and watch but luckily I am very busy so not too much time to think about it. Im still using Minox, MSM, Vit B compound and Omega Oils so supplements are good. Hopefully I will have more to report next blog at 3 month mark. I have photos and when I get time I will add them to various stages of blog for comparison.
  8. Hi I am a bad patient, i faint at a blood test and It shows how much I wanted the HT that I went through with it 6 weeks ago. I had a few nerves the night before but i have to say it was a very positive experience for me and very empowering taking control and doing something for me. The procedure was no problem at all and in time if I ever felt the need for a 2nd HT then I would go for it. Good Luck and no regrets.
  9. Well its 5 weeks after my HT by Dr Farjo and his team in manchester and all is good. Strange how things happened, I had just short of 3000 grafts and for the days after I was so careful in case they fell out! I washed scalp as per instructions but actually probably too careful. Then on day 10, probably due to my increased confidence and the feeling returning to my scalp I washed a little better and my scalp went from being tight and coated in a sort of scale to a clean nice feeling scalp. My grafts went from feeling like stiff prickles to softer normal hair. These grafts grew for the first 3 to 4 weeks and I loved the look as it reminded me of my younger days. I didint lose any grafts to my eyes during the first 3 to 4 weeks and then over the next week 90% fell out. Now I start the waiting game but its a good waiting game as you now what it coming is great. You have gone through the pain and now have to wait for the gain. My scar site has healed up well so far. I get the odd iritation on twinge of pain now and then but I suppose its the healing process and of course the hairs on the scar can be growing and it may be these I am feeling. Well I am taking my vitamins and have resumed on my minoxidil regime and thats about all I can do. I have done various researches on shampoos but nothing stands out as being too much better than anything else. I bought pregaine to be used before appying regaine and that is a good shampoo, I bought that caffiene based shampoo but probably the best was the sample bottles was given by Farjo centre to use post HT (Shampoo, Conditioner and a scalp spray). I have my Farjo bag with the various bits and peices in it proudly hung on the back of my bathroom door and it represents me taking a big step in doing something positive for myself. I am normally not great with any medical procedures in fact I faint when I have a blood test and I cant believe I am saying it but apart from a few early nerves I actually enjoyed the process and the day. The day felt like such a positive and emotional process. The Farjo team took good care of me and I would definitely consider a second HT (If after waiting 18 months for full reults of the first, I still felt I wanted to do more) The one added issue I have to resolve is getting my hair cut. I am currently working overseas and left 3 weeks after HT. My wife cut my hair before I left but she is not joining me here for 2 months. Anyone who has tried cutting their own hair in a mirror will know your brain to hand co-ordination is screwed and you hack bits off and stab yourself. I will have to find a good local salon where I can discuss the HT with them and I know they will mind the scar and not cut too short. I will update on my next blog and add photos.
  10. How is your HT progressing from November? 3-4 months mark?
  11. Thanks for replies to my post. Dr Farjo is sending me the photos taken before procedure and immediatley after which I will post on here. Its 3 days on now since HT and I have had no swelling or discomfort and have even slept very well which has surprised me. Scalp not too itchy and started using the range of shampoo, lotion and conditioner given to me after procedure. I know the end result will take time but the initial resut and the way I feel bodes well for the furture and I will photograph every 4 months. Good luck to all out there. Thanks Again.

  13. I had a hair transplant this week with Farjo Medical Centre conducted by Dr Bessam Farjo. Firstly to have to say I have suffered hair loss for over 10 years and it has always bothered me. I have tried other drugs and topical treatments with limited results. I recently felt it was time with the advances in transplant techniques that I would research this area further. After researching, I felt the best I could find was Dr Farjo and from my initial contact with his patient liason manager, Mick, I knew I had made the correct choice. They were thorough, informative, realistic and totally professional. My work schedule is very busy and they did everything to accommodate me and after someone else rescheduled, they regularly kept in contact with me and arranged my procedure at short notice. Aslo I would not normally be the bravest patient but they answered any questions and stopped me worrying. They arranged my hotel near the medical centre and the day of the procedure ran like clockwork. All of the medical staff were attentive and the facilities are world class. Dr Farjo spent time explaining the procedure and rechecking my medical details and BP. Everything was done to keep me relaxed even down to a choice of films and music to watch whilst the procedure was in progress. They took a food order in the morning which we stopped for during the day. The procedure was comfortable and painless. The result at this early stage is excellent and I feel great. The aftercare is superb and I was issued with an aftercare pack with drugs, information paperwork and special post operative shampoos and lotions. I have not felt any discomfort whatsoever and if I ever needed a second procedure or was asked to recommend anyone it would be the Farjo Medical Centre. I also ended up with 20% more grafts being done than the initial pre op estimate and I am thoroughly happy with the result. I felt cared for and in the hands of people who care thoroughly about what they can do and the positive effect they can have on their patients lives. I would like to thank Dr Farjo, Mick and the whole team for looking after me, thank you. Excite To See Smoke Cigar Smile Congratulate Support Afro
  14. I had my transplant done yesterday and found that a new clean Baseball Cap with high top style worked best. Just leave it loose as Aseda1979 said and it works well. You dont want anything too warm or fibrous that will make you sweat or itch more easily.
