  1. Hairthere, yes I mean temple points. Do you have any before/after pics of the temple points? I didn't realize 200 grafts was enough to make a difference. Also, we got had our procedures done a month apart. Do you have any picture updates for yours?
  2. Hair Restoration Journal -8 months I'm pretty happy with the hair transplant. As you can see in the "After" picture, I am now combing my hair back, which I couldn't really pull off just a month ago. Wearing my hair forward still looks goofy unless I use styling product, which frankly I'm too lazy to use. As for the future, I'm afriad to say the hair greed bug has hit me, and I now wish my hairline was an inch lower and I wish I had opted for enhancement of the sides. However, I'm not sure how wise a move that would be, considering I am still young and unsure of my future loss pattern. I may need my remaining grafts just to maintain how I look now in 20 years. Dr. Feller said that I have at least 7K grafts available, of which i used just over 2K. And it's tough for me to do the math, because I'm not sure now exactly how much of what I have is native hair; also I understand the crown requires more grafts than the front.
  3. Before: After: Please see my hair transplant blog (link is in my signature) for additional pictures with month by month progress. My two biggest balding areas pre op were the temple regions and the area right behind the forelock. The temples (which are obviously much more important to overall appearance) already look much better. I'm not seeing much growth from the area behind the forelock yet, which prevents me from wearing my hair spiked. But I'm fine with the caesar hair for now.
  4. Your hair loss pattern is very similar to mine. I had my surgery with Dr. Feller in early March, so hopefully you can use my results as a barometer for yours 2.5 months out. Happy growing!
  5. I was told that my hair would grow back to its pre-transplant state in 6 weeks. I'm a few days short of that now, and it's not even close. From my own personal experience and from the hundreds of pictures I've looked at, 3 months is a realistic time frame for looking normal again due to temporary shock loss. Some people claim they can go back to work sooner than that, but as someone who works in a very cluttered office, I wouldn't dream of it. I just couldn't handle all the awkward questions, which I would inevitably get because its obvious that something drastic happened to my hair. ON THE OTHER HAND.... everything I wrote above is rendered false if you're willing to use the brown magic that is Toppik. Take a look at my pictures (link below) and you will see that I look completely normal at 1 month with Toppik, maybe even better than I did before surgery. And I probably could have started using it at 3 weeks with a similar result (but I only decided to get it at the 1 month mark). Ever since I started using Toppik, I've been able to go out and be social, hang out with friends, ect. Every friend I've asked said it looks completely natural and they would never know I'm using concealer. I feel completely comfortable going outside without a hat now, and I would be comfortable going to work with the Toppik on.
  6. zo1279, most doctors do shave the area that is transplanted, but there are a few I've read about that don't require it and transplant in between existing hairs (there has been some debate regarding which method is better). With the shaving, I believe it's very hard to conceal the fact that you've had a transplant, and although alot of people on here may disagree, I would personally never get a transplant done unless I had at least a month where I could hibernate in my apartment without human contact. Luckily, I have some time off work right now, which is why I decided it was a good time for me to get this done.
  7. Overall the strip surgery went well. The Novocaine injections were the worst part, and they weren't so bad. They hurt slightly more than what I usually experience at the dentist. Luckily, Dr. Feller and his staff were extremely friendly, easy to talk to, and really helped put my mind at ease as they walked me through every step of the procedure as it was happening. For me, sitting still for 3 hours straight was tough, because I am extremely fidgety. My savior was the TV situated right in front of me to distract me. I chose The Matrix from a list of movies they had (not as good the second time around). I believe just over 4000 hairs were transplanted. Dr. Feller said that my donor area was very thick and he expects good results. I feel lucky to at least have a good donor area after being dealt a bad hand with the MPB. I will be keeping a picture blog (see the link below) and I will try to update it as frequently as possible.
