  1. I've just reached the 7 month mark for my 2nd HT & wanted to post my results as quite a change has occurred from my one month post- HT to my current state. I'm very grateful that such a marvelous life changing medical procedure exists that has enhanced so many men's lives for the better!
  2. Howdy ho everyone;) A lot has happened since my last update, which I have chronicled on my Website, so I won't be duplicating pics on this thread. Instead, if you are interested in any updates, just pop onto my Website cos I am adding random updates, not just monthly updates. The other positive occurrence is that I recently purchased a Sony Cybershot 18.2 MP camera which is replacing my old school 6 MP Nikon so the quality of the pics is much clearer; Spanker you were right when you commented that my images defo weren't 8 MP like I thought...LOL But most important is the progress of my 2nd HT itself - I have experienced sure, steady emergence of new hairs in my temples, eyebrows, and along the entire front hairline. Noteworthy is the phenom of larger swollen regions that appear overnight at various distinct areas of my recipient area; these swollen regions are distinct from my traditional HGH induced multitude of pimples that produce several new hairs apiece - these swollen regions (usually 1/2 " in diameter ) actually are the procurer to "patches" of new hairs dramatically sprouting from the entire swollen region within days of the swollen region's sudden appearance. This phenom is unique to this 2nd HT & I attribute it to my beginning TA65 therapy commencing on June 1, 2012. My 2nd Ht was performed on April 11, 2012 & I was injecting HGH as part of my anti-aging therapy, which yielded the same results from 4/11/2012 until 6/15/12 as my first HT. After I had been on TA65 for two weeks (and simultaneously off of HGH for my 2 week resting period) I began experiencing the swollen regions, as opposed to multiple, single pimples. I had my blood levels tested recently & my Doc reduced my HGH injections to twice per week (down from 5 times per week!) due to my IGF-1 levels being in the HIGH range (my Doc postulates that the TA65 is prompting my body to produce elevated, youthful levels of its own endogenous GH, as well as youthful expression of free testosterone & T3 & T4 blood levels. These pics were taken last night & this morning; I have been off HGH completely for two weeks now cos of my resting period. These swollen regions are the typical TA65 induced swellings that will soon result in (hopefully) prolific new hair sprouting. BTW- my existing hair & nails grow as rapidly on TA65 alone as they do when I'm injecting 1 iu daily of GH, adding evidence to my Doc's theory that the TA65 is prompting my body to produce higher levels of GH. If anyone has experienced this type of regional swelling I would really like to compare notes on the phenom. And happy growing to one & all!
  3. Spanker, I'm real happy for you. You seem like a great guy & I wish you the very best in your HT results. The work looks truly awesome, just try to relax & get some quality sleep while reposing in that awful upright position! - one of my least fave things about the first 5 days post-op!
  4. My doc was a woman, Dr. Tonya Pauls, not a Coalition Surgeon per this site, why you never heard of her I'm sure.
  5. The left pic is at 1 1/2 months & the two right ones are at 2 1/2 months, just for comparison purposes:
  6. Well, a lot has happened since my last post; we came back from a week's relaxing vacation to a flooded home due to a water pipe breaking under our kitchen sink that ran for about 5 days & basically ruined our entire house. We are living in an apt for 3 months while the insurance company puts everything back together for us...this is my best excuse for not posting more timely pics But here we are at last with some updates: 1) I began my 'resting phase' from HGH injections on June 1 for two weeks. Usually my pimple production & # of sprouting hairs diminishes within days of starting my resting phase. However, on June 1 I began a new anti-aging therapy utilizing TA-65 (a telomerase activator), taking one 250 unit capsule AM & PM. (Visit tasciences.com for more info on this amazing supplement). 2) By June 3rd my pimple production INCREASED to 4-6 pimples appearing per day (instead of decreasing during the 'resting phase' from HGH). I attribute this to the immediate effect of the TA-65 capsules. After gently popping these pimples hairs could be seen sprouting from the pimple sites. I believe the pimples are caused by the newly emerging hairs breaking the skins surface causing inflammation. 3) After about 28 days of this greatly increased pimple production the pimples stopped appearing all at once. Now I occasionally get one pimple every third day (& I'm grateful for that!). 4) So much sub -dermal activity was occurring beneath the entire front of my hairline that swelling actually went down my forehead (just like the post-op swelling I encountered) two weeks after I began taking the TA-65. The swelling subsided after two days and hairs began appearing in my front hairline. I believe some of this activity was native hairs lost to shock loss coming back as well as transplanted follicles awakening. 5) After 2 weeks (on June 15) I began my HGH injections again (1 iu/day) & have noticed a lot of newly emerging hairs in my temples as well. 6) Yesterday my right inner eyebrow became swollen & about 10 new long hairs appeared (instant eyebrow!), accompanied by swelling that went down my inner nose & inner upper eyelid! I look like I got in a fight with the swelling (but no bruising thankfully). I have NEVER experienced these bouts of swelling before with my injections of HGH so I attribute this to the addition of the daily dosage of TA-65 . 7) I could also explain the other remarkable changes I am experiencing after only 35 days usage of TA-65 but will constrain myself to observations affecting my HT. Here are pics taken in our new apt with different lighting from the previous pics; these were taken on June 25th & a lot has happened since then growth-wise. I will update pics at 3 month mark (July 11th) now that personal life has stabilized a whole lot. I've been viewing a lot of your various pics & everyone seems to be doing great! Glad to see this & wish the very best for everyone
  7. Hey, I did the same thing (added about 1300 grafts into my hairline to improve density) without shaving my head & was happy with the procedure & results so far (tho still early, only 2 1/2 months post-op). I did encounter some native hair shock loss however but they appear to have grown back. The nice thing about implanting into longer hair is you can disguise the HT much better & go about your life w/out so much self consciousness. Happy healing & growing fella!
  8. Glad to see your shock loss hairs coming back pretty strong, shock loss always sets one back doesn't it? Its like, "Really?", more hairs in the sink than on the head...ugghhh:eek: Did you have grafts into your mid scalp/crown area or just your hairline this HT? Looking good tho bro!
  9. I found arranging these pics in this order to best illustrate the progress since my HT on April 11, 2012; the first pic in each identical series is Day7, second pic is at 1 month, & third pic is at 1 1/2 months Post HT. I am encouraged & reminded to be patient! (Not my best attribute ) Be around again at the 2 month mark, keep on growing friends!
  10. Well the pimples have finally slowed down somewhat after having made their first appearance at the two week mark until now. I have seen nice new hair growth so far with the gaps in the middle of my hairline and at the front sides beginning to fill in somewhat, so I'm glad to see that but I keep checking it out in the mirror til I drive myself nuts & finally take a break! My eyebrows are filling in nicely already & my scar is slightly pink but I have experienced no stretching of it:p This was the observation of Dr. Pauls at the 5 week post HT exam where she pronounced me to be doing fine & ahead of the typical growth schedule (she was quite surprised at the number of pimples which indicates new growth occurring). Here are some updated pics taken just now. Cheers & happy growing to all!!
  11. Spanker, that is quite true, in fact I went back to work on Day 7 Post-HT w/out any issues or hats. The scabs had all fallen off & my existing hair did much to conceal any residual pinkness. My first HT was a somewhat different story as the recipient area had little to no existing hair to camouflage the work done. So far I'm quite pleased with the progress over all:D
  12. Sorry for the low rez when you click on the thumb nails, they looked really nice on iPhoto  I will have my wife take some better ones, I did these myself, I guess I suck hard at self-portraits:p
  13. OK so the big news on my end is that I popped my first pimple on Day 14 Post -op & have been popping an average of 2-3/day ever since. I have popped 4 pimples on my eyebrows starting on Day 21 post-op, followed by the emergence of single hairs immediately after. The first pic shows the pimples needing to be popped & the dark spots towards the top of pic are ones I popped earlier today. I am getting nice hairs emerging all along my front recipient area, some dark, some quite light in color. I suffered some shock loss in the very center & to each side as well but am confident these hairs will re-appear when they are damn good & ready;) My temples have begun sprouting & growing as well & I can feel the swelling of forming pimples the past two days so will be popping in my temples soon I can tell. My scar is pain free now & my doctor (at my 10 day exam) marveled how quickly my donor site was healing, stating that I could have had my stitches removed at 7 days cos it was somewhat difficult to pull the stitches out. My healing/growing progress is superior to even my first HT last year due no doubt to my increased HGH dosage of 2iu/day the past month (compared to just 1 iu/day my first 30 days post-HT the first go-round, which is my usual anti-aging dosage). I will revert to this 1 iu/day from now on since I have given this 2nd HT the benefit of a damn good jump start the past 28 days. I see no reason to continue at 2 iu's /day going forward; the immediate benefits have already been experienced & will now settle into my baseline "growing season".
  14. Here are my pics from the evening of Day 7 Post HT: The whitish hairs are the immature transplanted hairs that have begun to grow already; we'll see how long they stay in place actually growing before Shedding occurs:) My scabs are pretty much all gone now & appearing in public drew no gasps of horror from children or the general public today so glad the swelling & pink recipient areas are no longer visible;) The eyebrows look pretty normal too now that the scabs fell off on their own (didn't have to rub them off, the doc said eyebrow grafts can be a little more iffy & advised against rubbing them off). Now its just a waiting game! The worst part is over & am hoping for minimal shock loss!
  15. So today is Day #6 post HT & several remarkable IMO events have occurred : 1) My scabs are completely gone now from my head, temples & eyebrows! I had no bleeding whatsoever gently rubbing off the scabs so I presume I lost zero grafts in this process:D It took 7-8 days post-op to lose all my scabs during my first HT when I was injecting 1 iu daily; this go round I am using 2 iu's daily & I can see & feel a real difference from the first HT. 2) The revealed hairs after removing the scabs appear to be growing already & are anchored securely in my scalp (I conclude this because I have not lost any grafts as evidenced by 'bleeding' from a lost graft site. My first Ht I did lose several grafts during the scab removal process. 3) My recipient area was of course pink & bumpy immediately post-op but as of the evening of Day #6 post-op my recipient area has its normal skin tone without any redness or inflammation. I will be able to resume my work tomorrow meeting clients & employees without the need for a ball cap to cover up. I 'm pretty psyched about this result because I did not achieve this return to normalcy my first HT until the second week. Obviously doubling the dosage to 2 iu/day has had a prolific impact on my scalps healing quality & speed of recovery. 4) My facial swelling was severe during my first HT & lasted a good 7 days before it completely resolved. This time I would describe my swelling as mild/moderate & it has resolved today. Appearing in public will not be an issue tomorrow as a consequence. I conclude that increasing my daily dosage to 2 iu has had many beneficial results affecting my healing progress the first week after my 2nd HT. I will have my wife take high rez pics tomo to document my observations (she is sleeping now, Bless her!). I will be interested to see how this initial increase in dosage affects my shedding & subsequent regrowth of shed follicles & future shock loss prevention (if so) & shock loss regrowth times.
  16. BIG BALLS! Like AC/DC song...LOL Hey England, the eyebrows were a necessity to stay congruent with a healthy younger looking head of hair....nothing screams "Old & in the way" like half an eyebrow! The males on my mom's side all seem to have vanishing eyebrows as they got older, as opposed to some dudes whose eyebrows grow wild with age:confused: Must be genetics involved, like MPB itself. Anyway, the eyebrows aren't uncomfortable AT ALL, they don't itch (not like the scalp recipient areas), but you do get more swelling (depending on how many grafts you receive in them) - understandable. Eyebrows gobble up single grafts (as I found out). I needed 75 right side, nearly 100 left side (mainly in outer portions). But totally pain free afterwards. The results should become apparent as soon as the scabs fall off since I experienced minimal eyebrow shedding my first HT procedure (unlike my scalp which had a lot more initial shedding after a couple of weeks). BTW- What does "I would never have 'the bottle' mean? Must be an English colloquialism ? I plan to start using the phrase once I understand its proper meaning here in the good ole USA!
  17. Hello Dutch, now THAT is some excision OMG!! I always wondered what length of strip would be necessary to support a mega-session like yours, but WOW~ I only had 1767 grafts 5 days ago and my donor feels tight tight tight, can't imagine what yours must of felt like at the time! But great results so far, I'm sure you feel it was worth it (as do we all when we see those hairs spring back up to life!). Keep us posted & Happy Growing !
  18. Sean, I have been using Omnitrope brand by Sandoz labs the past 3 years (when I began Dr. prescribed GH therapy). I inject 1 iu daily for anti-aging purposes though I am injecting 2 iu's daily this first week after my HT to promote incredible healing & rapid transplanted hair growth. My 1st HT I used my regular 1 iu/day dose & was very pleased with both the initial & eventual outcome (except I discovered that I wanted an even thicker, denser hairline - who doesn't, right?) My slogan in life seems to be "Go Big or Go Home", it seems to work for me...and my wife! She loves having her fingers in my hair again, just like when we met 14 yrs ago. Injectable HGH works wonders for your hair; it increases shaft thickness, rapidity of growth, & eliminated the 'old guy wiry hair' look that accompanies aging...it also has helped reduce my gray hairs by darkening most of my hair, tho not all. HGH secretagogues will certainly be efficacious as well, but you should not use these innocuous sups unless you need them, usually starting around your 40's when your natural HGH secretion begins to wane. Secretagogues are also SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than actual injectable HGH but is the way to go if you start in your 40's.
  19. Here are hopefully some much better pics taken just now by my lovely wife:p using macro-setting w/flash: You can better see the eyebrow work done in the front pic & the side pics as well as I had most singles put in the outer portions of both brows (delicate work requiring mucho skillo on the doc's part). The top of head pic shows why I wanted more density & a more specific hairline. I am really excited already about the future outcome of the temple peaks - although I had temple work done at the 1st HT, I decided I wanted more pronounced peaks; my father had amazing temple peaks & it really made him appear distinguished & handsome regardless of his age. Being 58 now myself I want to make this the final HT & decided to just "get 'er done" now that I know what 'look' I want after waiting 15 months after my 1st HT.
  20. Your HT looks awesome! Have you had any outrageous swelling yet? I can't imagine going into ANY public venue when that nastiness is going on:eek:
  21. Damn iPhone camera works as good as Siri does  I'll have wife take more pics using a better camera, hopefully that will be high rez. Just took my first shower & washed my hair:p MAN does that first hair washing feel good:D I'm feeling human again, I definitely wouldn't do well living in a mud hut somewhere w/out running water. Donor site feels a lot less painful today (day 2 Post-op) tho a bit tight. Otherwise my recipient areas have no discomfort, that amazes me. Slept better last night too:p w/less pain...looking forward to resuming my normal sleeping position in a few nights. Funny how it all comes back to you when its your 2nd HT experience....good stuff in a couple of months!
  22. Thanks Spanker, decent of you.The rez is 8 mp due to using iPhone 4s camera. I'll enlist my wife's help in taking better pics down the road with our better rez camera. It really does make a huge difference appearance-wise to have an actual hairline again & normal eyebrows to frame your face...rolls a good 10-15 years off your mug:cool:
  23. Cant you click once on the individual pic to enlarge it? I can do that with my Mac, really helps!
