  1. Let me squash this bullshit. I contacted Damien Porter back in 2015 for information about a Scalp Micropigmentation and he was extremely helpful and steered me away from some very bad apples and into the hands of the very capable Matt Iulo. Damien is sincere, honest, and has always taken his time to answer my questions. Even after my SMP (which I did later decide to get a hair transplant), he spent hours dealing with all my insecurity and questions and concerns at no financial benefit to himself. Let me be clear, my SMP was great. I just didn't like how I looked with a shaved head. These posts are ridiculous. It's like asking my students if I am a good teacher. My state data shows I am three or four standard deviations ahead of other teachers involving student growth, but I guarantee you some students will swear I'm the worst teacher or that they hate me or that I'm unprofessional for a myriad of reasons, most which actually have nothing to do with my teaching. I'd advise anyone reading this to read these warnings with a grain of salt. This industry is nasty and it's not uncommon for different people with very different motives to slander the good actors. I wrote about it here and my contact with Damien for anyone that is interested. https://dudewhereismyhair.wordpress.com/2022/04/10/i-had-a-great-scalp-micropigmentation-but-still-removed-it/
  2. I wouldn't mind it being lowered some, but I have to consider that my hair loss can still progress and I might need more transplants down the road. So, the conservative approach works for me. We still live in a day and age where we are all limited to our availability of donor grafts.
  3. ZIker- I've been using minoxidil and finasteride since I was 25. Men should use these things before they ever consider a hair transplant. I would argue this is why I'm maintained as much hair I have. The libido loss from finasteride in my opinion is bs. There are so many reasons men can have libido loss and finasteride is an easy scapegoat to blame for the problem. Millions of men take that medication with absolutely no problem.

    2052 Graft FUT Procedure

2052 grafts to the temporal areas with Dr. Glenn Charles.
  5. I indeed took a hiatus. I updated the site with some pictures. I feel like my initial review was a little salty with too much profanity. I really do not think or obsess about hair loss like I did before my procedure. That's why I haven't been to the site. It's bizarre, I used to frequent these sites so often that it bordered on obsession. I occasionally think I need some more density, but honestly I just live my life now and it's wonderful. I've realized that being short and my face may have been bigger obstacles to the physical side of dating than my hair ever was! LOL. Life is really good. I'm almost three years out and it was one of the best decisions I've made. The peace and quality the procedure has brought to my life cannot be understated. If you are in Florida, I totally recommend Dr. Charles. He's great. Alexia is also amazing and will take the time to address all of your concerns.
  6. It's so weird; I never understood why people don't post updates but after going through the dance I get it. I've had results, and in my opinion, pretty damn good results. However, they are not as good as the chia pet results that are always posted to this site. I've realized this website mainly posts only the very best results. Apart from skill of the doctor, I now understand that individual hair transplant also have a huge luck factor. All my graphs have grown in, but compared to guys with smaller foreheads or thicker natural hair, anything I post to this page is going to be criticized and I don't feel like dealing with the bullshit. My transplant was great and it has transformed my life. I'm way more confident, no one knows what I did, and the people who I have told think it looks really great. I also know I would like a 2nd procedure eventually to lower my hairline a little more and to add a little more density because I have naturally thin hair. Maybe I'll post some pics in the future. But honestly, I don't think about hair loss anymore nor does it consume me like it used to. That's a major fucking win. I fully reccomend Dr. Charles and don't think you should take the risk going to Turkey or advise spending 20 grand just because you think the quality of your magical hair transplant will be that much better. Research your doctor. Talk to some patients. If it bothers you enough, get a hair transplant. If money was no object, I'd do a second procedure in June. However, I'm going to pay off grad school first. I don't feel bald anymore. I just feel like I have a naturally high hairline and I can live with that. I'm more concerned with being ripped than I am with my hairline and that is an awesome feeling. Good luck to you guys.
  7. I completely agree; I felt much better opting for an FUT procedure. Not to mention it shaved about 5 grand off the price for me. FUE tends to be about 50% more expensive so for a school teacher like that makes a big difference. I felt confident that any possible scar issues could be resolved with a small transplant or SMP procedure, however, my scar seems like it is going to be pencil thin as advertised. I know people on here like to say that money shouldn't matter but that's absolute horseshit; it does. I didn't opt for a cheaper transplant in Turkey because I was afraid if I had an issue it would be difficult to address but I've seen both great and horrible results from people who make this expedition. My techs planted my graphs as well. I think this is normal. The Doctor should extract the grafts and create the recipient sites. The techs dissect and plant the grafts. Techs help expedite the process and I believe a patient should want the grafts implanted as quickly and effectively as possible. This works best with a team. We had our transplant around the same time so I hope we both roll doubles. Good luck!
  8. I think I will have an average result and possibly need a 2nd transplant because my hair is pretty thin. The strange thing to me is other transplants of 2000 grafts or so seem to provide or take up more space than my 2000 grafts. Regardless, I have to wait or see. I'm just thankful I wasn't butchered and I know if I have any issues Dr. C is not more than a phone call away. Of course, I just rechecked my pictures and my hairline was much more receded than the typical patients receiving 2000 to 2500 grafts. Perhaps I fall into the category of people who should have been more aggressive. When they draw that line on your head it looks so much better than what you have so it's difficult to distinguish how far one should go with the frontal hairline.
  9. I'm only about a month and 3 weeks post. Most of my hairs have fallen out. The recipient area is still red but I'm the only one in reality who seems to notice. The donor site (fut) does feel slightly raised. I can trace the line with my hand but good luck showing it someone... they struggle to see it. As far as I'm concerned, I have about another 2-3 months before I have anything to post. People are right about one thing: By the time your results for your hair transplant come in life has moved on and you aren't thinking about it anymore. I just spent two weeks in Costa Rica and barely gave my hair the time of day.
  10. 100% agree. I also had scalp micropigmentation with Scalp Micro USA and I was concerned over their lack of pics since so many people were getting it done. The truth is most people want to keep it a secret, even the majority of cases look good in competent hands. This does beg the question though, how much blame or credit do we attribute to the doctor that really has to do with the physical characteristics and natural response of the client to their hair transplant?
  11. Legend, I agree. I thought hair loss would be easier as I age. In some ways, it's worse because it compounds the rest of the aging process. WIth app dating so prominent, I find it harder and harder to compete with younger guys. Of course, I never really was able to compete much in my prime to begin with. And I'll be happy with average results! I was not expecting miracles--just wanted to reduce the Frankenstein-like hairline.
  12. I'm not sure how good mine will look but I posted. I think it will be fine. There is always a possibility that I need a second one. However, posting seems like a good defense mechanism. Publicity favors the patient. So, I never understood why more people do not post. I can tell you when researching Dr. Charles that the majority of patients I talked to didn't even know sites like these existed. Most of the world does not research things like crazy! A wealthy person will go in to see a surgeon, the surgeon tells him what he wants to hear, he schedules and has the transplant. I went with Dr. Charles because I spoke to a few consultants at OTHER CLINICS who told me I was in good hands with him. We shall see. He certainly didn't butcher me and my friend who is a plastic surgeon here thinks both my donor area (FUT) and recipient area look amazing. I'm really curious how dense my transplanted areas will be. Time will tell. I also wanted a surgeon within driving distance in case there are problems that arise. The thought of going to Turkey or taking a 6-8 hour flight somewhere horrifies me. I can literally go beat down an office door if I need to, But I could actually just call Dr. Charles on his cell phone. I'm also beginning to believe different people respond differently to transplants. NW3s always seem to have the best results. People with thick hair seem to gain insane coverage, etc. Also, I think bad transplants are far more likely to be posted than good ones. People who do no research are blissfully unaware that they should be thankful for good results.
