  1. Hi All, I've had a couple of hair transplants done in the past where multiple sets of grafts didn't survive leaving "holes" in my hair. I've then had some scalp tattooing done to fill in areas on the top of my head to fill the aforementioned holes.. Unfortunately the scalp tattooing ended up looking bad, so now I've been doing laser tattoo removal sessions to slowly fade the tattoos. My question is this: I've recently had another hair transplant from another doctor in the areas where the grafts fell out and the tattoos are. How long should I wait before I can resume the laser tattoo removal treatments? The last hair transplant was ~November 15 2014. Thanks!
  2. Who is your doctor? I had a gentle hair wash on day one after surgery and it had no adverse side effects. Just make sure to wait approximately two weeks before you scrub your hairs hard like you would during a normal shampoo session.
  3.

Wow, sorry to hear about your failed transplant! You should post your story in the FORUMS, and be sure to INCLUDE what Dr.Armani had said when you complained.

As for getting depressed and suicidal, have you thought about a hairpiece or hair pigmentation?

Dr. Mohebi ~3500 grafts Before and After

Dr. Mohebi . (Scar procedure) ~3500 FUT grafts Before and After
  5. now that I'm 3.5 months into my hair transplant here are a couple of thoughts that I'd like to share: -Post op procedures: There should be a standardized post op procedure that all certified hair transplant surgeons (e.g. Coalition members) should agree on. it's not good for the patients when one set of doctors is saying you don't risk losing grafts after day 5 by shampooing the scabs, while another group of doctors is saying you will permanently lose grafts if you don't wait till day 8 to start removing the scabs. Also, video instructions are priceless when it comes to such things. Reading text and hoping you're doing it correctly just doesn't compare. -Shock loss: While shock loss doesn't happen with every procedure, it happens in enough cases, so I think that it shouldn't just be the patients responsibility to "do their research" before getting a transplant. Surgeons should make sure that patients see shock loss photos of what "may happen" before patients agree to a procedure. In my case I had an idea, I just didn't know how bad it could get. I experienced some pretty bad shock loss, and it happened at a time when I had to interview for jobs. Seeing the look on my interviewers' faces was definitely priceless Thanks for listening to my rant, and good luck/regrowth to everyone
  6. My 3.5 month pics have been added to the album. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.co...009/albums/388 So far I'd say about 50% of the implanted grafts have come to the surface. I'm crossing my fingers for the rest! Right now there are still too many "bald areas" on my right temple, and the fall out shock hairs are slowly starting come back--but there are still areas that are very thin from the fallout shock. @hairthere: This was my first strip procedure.
  7. I'm going to second that endorsement for Cipla. I've been using their version of Finasteride for years. While I continue to lose hair, I am sure it's slowed it down. I had my DHT test done last week and it was 20, which is a bit below the normal range. So i'm going to aim to get it back up to 30 Edit: I'm also seeing people posting that when they switched to a "local" pharmacy they experienced better results, so I may be pursuing that option as well once I have more funds available.

    1 month out!

hey bro have you tried rogaine foam 5%? I hope you don't have to wear a hat for too long. Have you considered cutting your hair super short? http://www.baldingblog.com/2007/09/10/my-transplant-doctor-suggested-rogaine-to-prevent-shock-loss/ http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/147210-rogaine-prevent-shock-loss.html -Sam
  9. I updated the blog with photos, result of ~10 day consultation w Dr.Mohebi, after haircut pics, and my upcoming date on Thur! Which should be uber fun since the scarline is suppppper visible
  10. Dr.Visit: Dr.Mohebi was in the San francisco area this week, so he had a chance to see the progress live. I discussed my concerns about some of the hairs that fell out particularly from top left front, and right temple on day 6. He said that there is a remote possiblity that, due to how thick my scalp skin was, that they are not going to grow back. However, if actual grafts (vs normal post surgery-hair shedding) fell out, that he would help take care of it--which I appreciate.he mentioned some free grafts if necessary, but for now to just relax and let's see how things look in 8-10 months. Haircut: I have a date on Thursday, and after getting a haircut, this is about as good as they can make it. see pics. I live in the San Francisco area, so expecting a girl this cute to still be single a month from now when my scar is not as visible, is pretty much out of the question... lol. Any advice about how to talk about the elephant in the room? I was thinking of saying" I was doing martial arts and someone cut me with a knife... juuust kidding. i got a hair transplant" that's all i got for now
  11. I was noticing that on day 6, after the shower with baby shampoo for about 10 minutes, that the new hair were falling out very easily when I ws barely touching them to get the crust off. Granted, virtually all of the transplanted hairs are more than likely to fall out within 3 weeks, but I'd personally like to keep them for as long as possible, and also some of the hairs that fell out could be grafts. to play it safe, I went back to a more gentler approach of baby shampoo for a couple of minutes and when i'd see hairs fall out after try to get the crust off the top, i'd just stop and wait till next shower. On Day 8 there is definitely a huge difference. I can gently run my hand through the new hairs now and there is virtually no hairs falling out.

  13. Thanks guys, Question for Falceros: what is the difference between updating a blog post and updating the forum thread? Should I be copying and pasting my blog post entry into the forum thread? Should I link to my blog posts in my forum thread? I am just trying to have everything in one spot and not have to do double the work. Thanks!
  14. Wed Dec1st: I flew in from San Francisco and took a shuttle to my pre-arranged hotel near Encino, CA. . the hotel stay was complimentary which was awesome. I finally got to meet Dr.Mohebi and his staff. Dr.Mohebi came off as friendly, highly knowledgeable, and confident in his work.. he drew my new hairline with a pen and we both agreed that we should add hair to my temples, top forehead and crown. Thur Dec 2nd: Showed up at the office, went over the new hairline with Dr.Mohebi again, and soon after the operation began. I was pretty drugged up during most of the procedure but I recall Dr.Mohebi coming in at various time to make sure everything was going smoothly, and that the assitants were doinga perfect jon with the grafts.. His assitants actually worked on me for almost 12 hours, as far as I can remember. Definitely some overtime, dedication to getting the job done! A huge thank you to all members--including his front desk team as well Fri Dec 3rd: Got the hairwash and final lookover from Dr.Mohebi. The instructions were to wash hair with baby shampoo for two minutes morning and night for 4 days, then wash it off with a cup of water. After day 5 you can wsh it as thoroughly as you have before. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/smgrl009/albums/388 has all the pictures starting from pre-surgery to post surgery.
  15. Thank you for the warm welcome and setting up this thread HT_Doc. One of the reasons that I actually ended up choosing Dr.Mohebi was because of forums like yours. Initially I was actually considering much cheaper options that popped up from a Google search, e.g. a few doctors in India that charged an average of $2000 for an FUE transplant, but when I saw some of the horror story photos of their patients, I was quickly discouraged from doing so. It's kind of amazing that in 2010, there are still doctors providing their patients with pluggy results that look standard in 1995. As an aside, I am not quite sure where I can actually start a blog on your site. Could someone point me to a link please? Thanks again, Sam
