  1. The surgeon's in Australia I have had consultations with say they don't want to pay the fees required to be recommended on this forum. It does not mean they are not good. It's about doing thorough research and deciding what's best for your situation, no matter where in the world they are.
  2. Australia does many things well, medicine included. This first world country has some of the best surgeons globally in other specialties like heart. The ones I have spoken to say they are not prepared to pay the large financial outlay to be recommended on this site. It's possible they feel defensive. if you have been to both India and Australia and seen the infrastructure, hospitals and regulations you may find it difficult to fathom how they could do better work.
  3. I work in the fitness industry and have heard their is a possible link with creatine monohydrate and a increase in thinning if you are prone to MPB. But I don't feel it would be that evident after two weeks.
  4. To olmert, I am now more interested in focusing on my third and final HT and getting a 'gold standard result' and so would love some feedback and assistance in making the most informed decision. Well written Cryingoutloud and 1966kph, I do now have precious finite done hair remaining and I still want to aesthetically improve my hairline. I have decided to head to USA/Canada (from Aus), I am considering (in no particular order): Dr Feller Dr Shapiro Dr Konior Dr Bernstein H & W PLEASE HELP! Apologies if the photos are lacking clarity. eg. photos are 24 months post second HT and I have two separate strip scars.
  5. Thailand has a thriving medical tourism industry where India does not. A surgeon's reputation would also play a part. Compare the countries PPP, GDP or CPI and it will give you a better understanding. Consumer Price Index of Sydney is 117, Rio 74.4 Bangkok 50.2 and Hyderabad 26 which indicates the cost of living is quite different in these countries. I recently had a consultation with an Australian HT surgeon with a quote of $15000(aus) compare that to my quote of $4900 or $7072 from two Thailand doctors for the same procedure. I have had two HT procedures and my second I flew from Australia to Hyderabad for surgery cost of $2800 and in my case the old adage 'you get what you pay for' was spot on.
  6. I am Australian and had my first strip HT with Dr White and my result was satisfactory. I had my second procedure in India with Dr Madhu and my result was not worth it. Poor growth. An aussie should do lots of research and if they find an aussie surgeon their comfortable with than go with it. Otherwise consider the USA and Thailand and see if one you like their. I feel you need to ask how much experience have the technicians got not just the surgeon. Not all great surgeons are on this site, remember they have to pay a large amount to be considered on the this site.
  7. Good luck with your growth. I hope it grows well for you. I flew from Australia and had my second procedure with Dr Madhu and my growth was very below average. Hopefully you got some experienced technicians for your procedure and can get a better result.
  8. Look far and wide for the best surgeon and nurses you can find. I have had two surgeries and a poor result is not worth a hasty or money dominated decision. 1st surgery Dr White (Aus) good result 2nd Dr Madhu (India) poor result
  9. I also have had two HT procedures, my first I saw good growth after 5 months (Dr White Australia) and I knew something was wrong in my second HT (Dr Madhu India) when I had no growth after 5 months. So I would be very concerned.
  10. Dr Madhu is very pleasant guy. I travelled from Gold Coast, Australia to Hyderbad India for surgery in 2011. His clinic is very neat and clean. His staff are amazingly friendly. I was treated incredibly well. This was my second strip surgery. My first in 2007 in Melbourne, Australia they grafted approx 2100 with my success rate I judge at 80% growth rate 18 months after. My second surgery yielded approx the same with a success rate I judge to be <15% growth rate after 18 months.
  11. Flew from Australia in 2010 to have surgery with Dr Madhu to have my second surgery (first in Australia) My growth was negligible. I saw Dr Martinick clinic in Western Australia and they said the nurses or standards are still not high enough compared to other countries. Consider all options before committing a procedure in India. My result was a waste of time and money. He also did a second scar and my donor area is vastly reduced for a third procedure.
  12. Oze22,

I've been in touch with Dr. Madhu regarding your recent hair transplant. Having seen photos of your scalp before and 8 months after surgery, I disagree with your assessment that you've had no growth. Photos at 8.5 months show a clear improvement in density and you still have another 4 months or so to see some new growth and thickening.

Please do understand that 2200 grafts over such a large bald area will not provide you with a full head of hair, even with the remaining natural hair you have. Frankly, it would take much closer to 6000 grafts to provide you with the kind of density that most people want which is why most patients with significant hair loss typically require more than one procedure to meet their goals. I trust this was discussed before your procedure.

Furthermore, your natural hair on top is prone to the possibility of future hair loss and it's possible that you've lost more natural hair since your hair transplant procedure.

I encourage you to contact Dr. Madhu to discuss your concerns. Dr. Madhu is a stand up surgeon and I trust he'll do all that he can to help you meet your long term goals.

    Best wishes,
