  1. Products such as Finasteride and Minoxidil is what I term medication.
  2. Thank you for your reply Spex and the guide post is useful. A couple more questions for anyone who can answer,: What is the normal amount of time for the transplanted hairs to fall out? Is it ok to encourage them to come out after 2 weeks ( if they are not going to grow which i understand they do not then I'd rather they came out sooner rathern than later). I was not prescribed any medication following my HT. I expressed to the surgeon a preferance against trying such medications 1st before having HT but would be prepared to have post surgery if it improves the results ultimately. Should I ask for it? (i've asked the surgeon this question but not had a reply yet). cheers
  3. I had a HT 13 days ago and I have not been prescibed these medication or any medication for hair growth.
  4. I am on Day 13 after 2060 FU's. The front part of my hair is shaved. I actually cut my hair quite short as I thought it would look more odd. I under estimated the appearance issues and thought what the hell, just do it. Then after the surgery i was fretting a bit. I went in to my office on 6th day. I wore a cap. It was the facial swelling that was more of an issue and harder to hide. Problem is the more you hide and do strange things like where a cap (not normal for me in my office) the more attention you bring. In the end I think you got to say what the hell to what people think. That's not to say I don't check the mirror 5 times a day to see if it's less obvious. Personally I think shorter hair (not too short) can disguise it better.
  5. Hi I have some questions which I would be grateful for a response to: Does the hair which is shaved in the transplanted area grow back or is it damaged by the transplant process so that only the implanted hairs grow? When do the newly transplanted hairs begin to grow, how long after the initial tranplanted hairs fall out? How short can one cut or clipper ones hair before a relativley recent doner scare will be visible (i guess this depends on the hair type and colour) but would say grade three with clippers be ok (fair straight hair)? After the scalp of the transplanted area has healed one is will often be left with a rather strange hair style (if shaved) in my case with the front shaved and then sudden thick hair. Ideally the best hair style for this is very short but I donit want it so short that my scar is showing. Any advice and other experiences appreciated.
  6. The length of the wound/scar from my TP of 2060 FU is much larger than I expected (I never asked the specific question before operation). I measured it as 26 cm or 10 inches running in line from the front part of the ear to ear. Is this normal? It makes me wonder how for a person having many more FUs, how they manage. It's the end of day 5 and I must say I am still finding the doner area wound is quite painful and so I am finding it necessary to constantly take painkillers but I understand this is not abnormal. Swelling finally eased off this pm. By the way I just want to take this opportunity to say I think this site is offering a great service in informing people preventing a lots of poor FT for people. Personally I have found been extremely helpful. So thank you to those behind it!

  8. 4 days ago I had this procedure choosing dr Feriduni based largely on this info on this site. I found him very professional and a nice guy and instilled confidence. I can't really fault the procedure but have a relatively ignorant understanding of how it has gone thus far. Never the less the 1st night afterwards I was wondering to myself whether I had done the right thing and how I was going to explain my bizarre appearance for the next few weeks or more (as I naively thought my hair would cover then surgery). On day 2 I started to get more and more swelling and worst still on day 3 particularly around my eyes to the point that it reduce my visibility as the eyes were surrounded by swollen areas. I still have it significantly today (4th day) but finally it has stopped getting worse. I was shown pictures of how this can happen and worst cases, so I was not worried but I seem to have turned out to be a case that gets the swelling much more than others. This is inconvenient as I am avoiding see people to avoid explaining. The graft area seems to be ok, quite scabby, not hurting at all, a little itchy. The doner area has been hurting so I have fairly consistently taken Ibuprofen although not today. It feels quite tight but I have no reason to think it is not healing as it should. I found I has quite headache for the 2nd day but that was not helped by difficult travelling experience home, needing to get two separate flights and 11 hrs travelling in the end - not ideal and perhaps reason for severe swelling. Here's a couple of pictures for now. I don't have the surgeons pictures yet. The 1st is the following evening and other the 3rd day pm. Fingers crossed no problems.
