  1. would any of the guys here who have done this multiple times recommend me to actually be greedy and fix my few areas that way I do not have to worry about hair even when wet or even when not styled, and be able to keep it short . Or should I forget it?
  2. Here is my update almost 2 years later -Yes I am very happy with Dr Umar - I was lucky to have a lot of donor areas... - my procedure made my hair 3 times thicker - the hair quality improved in past year - I still bald spots that I have to carefully comb over or use some topick or wax or gel or something to cover it up - the crown I wish he put more hair there it looks thin - 2 areas behind my front hairline still look very thin overall I think my procedure is 80% success. Dr Umar treated me very well. I recommend him highly. He said he will give me a mini session to fix my old scar and add some hair to defective areas for free...I just couldnt schedule it in past year since I have no time plus I am afraid I will have to shave my hair again which is NOT what I want at all at this point Here are some new pics
  3. my yield in general i think was 50% in some areas higher than others I think there is no significant growth but the hair is looking more mature and natural I havent had time to take specific hair pics, but I have general pics I will place soon when I come back from vacation I have been extremely busy , I think I wish that some areas were fuller. I am 90% satisfied but I wont be greedy for now.
  4. OK i FINALLY HAD THE TIME to get to the forum and answer the last two questions . Sorry guys I didnt abandon you completely. 1- In response to redness it took 3 months for me. It depends on the color of your skin. If you are more brownish then yo won't have as much redness. If you are more light skinned you will. Also I had 4500 transplants so that is massive 2- I will be VERY honest with you. Eventhough I am an extremely confident man, I had to deal with this with a lot of courage and it was VERY VERY VERY difficult. I think that if you can take off 2 months at least it would be better. I personnally had make up on my head to try to cover, weird combos of different things I bought. I also had surgical caps a lot since I was a surgeon so I was looking for my surgery days Imagine that all this happened in my NEW JOB, new people it was CRAZY!!!!!! I will tell you the best way is being honest. Anytime I would see someone stare at my head I would say a joke , make fun of myself , i did mention transplant even to some patients of mine that were staring, to some nurses . it was a lot of stress. the outcome is so worth it. it is of note that I still have 2 small areas I call them the "holes" luckily they are behind the front line so I can hide them easily. Dr umar said he would fill them for me for free. But I am so satisfied now that I am afraid seeking perfection and ruining what I have. it is not worth it. plus short of cancer there is no way I would shave my head again!!!! I hope this message finds you. I wish I could lie to you but the first 2-3 months SUCK!!!!!! the results are WORTH IT
  5. Yeah I do have a lo of nape hair, I had previously done 6 sessions of laser to get rid of it little did I know that I could use it for transplant. So it survived 6 sessions of laser! As far As my transplant it was 4500 grafts i think 500 were beard hair that he used as fillers out of 4000 I think less than half was nape hair and it was used for the hair line and temple areas. I am extremely happy with my sides, best and most natural look possible. It was initially looking rougher than my own hair but it now is getting nicer and smoother and I think my sides (temple areas look great). these areas were totally empty of hair since I was 18. As far as the rest of the hair I think he took it from my universal donor sites. The good news my donor areas seem to be still same , so thick, so when Dr Umar saw it he was himself surprised of how thick it still is I will actually soon publish a Video if I have time where I use the comb through my hair, it feels great especially if I use forming pommade cream by american crew, it kind of makes the hair stickier but still soft which almost glues hair together without the harsh gel effect , this way I can run my hands through my hair without a problem. I like to see more comments. Thanks atticus , aaron and taking the plunge.
  6. several pics taken mostly from front cam (less quality) 2 of the pics are from back cam (very high quality) I am not partying enough to take pics so I am doing it all by myself hard to take pics But I tried different lights I am so satisfied, I visited umar today he thought it looked awesome! I was very happy I still have the scar from the butcher of my first transplant. Umar will fix it for me , he thought I have tons of more donor hair I am satisfied now , I might update at the 1 year! Thanks all
  7. shorter hair today, 2nd haircut , one of the pics is extreme sunlight in marina del rey coastal house, two other in normal day light internal and 3 in bathroom strong lights It is getting better and better by the day you can see a lot of fine hair on the pic with my hand hiding my face , the left not as good as right also there are two holes and some areas of weak desnity cant see them very well in the pics , can see them better when I wake up in the morning I am starting to be able to style my hair in different directions, learning my new hair , some styles I havent done even when I was 18
  8. It is almost 5 months ....in a week or two I hope to give another update with pics, holding on to the professional ones till about 6-8 months. I am just amazed now at the thickening process, many many more small hairs are showing, newer batch of pimples and growth... a factory of small hairs adding to the other ones filling gaps connecting edges and dots... I am just HAPPY , my personality changes back I can look people straight in the eyes, my confidence increased, I DO NOT WEAR HATS I AM THROWING THEM ALL IN THE TRASH ALL THE HATS, i am now ALLERGIC to hats, it reminds me of the bitter past. I still hope to fill one small 'hole' area on the left side....I wish Dr Umar also did my old scar filling like he promised, he said he can do that one day ....than I could cut my hair short from the back like I want it to be always super short. FUE is amazing, the quality of the hair is improving, as it is softening, thickening, straightening, blending ... The direction of the hair is fantastic small hairs are grwoing outside the actual hairline making the hairline look so natural, so amazing, I just cant stop describing the DAILY change in the hair....it is like a growing child , plants , awesomeness!
  9. thank you all....I will be updating my hairloss website profile soon because it is starting to be impressive... Every day there is more hair than previous day it is just AWESOME
  10. tired to take pics with 3 different cams ( all not that great yet) , but in different situations day light at work, home bright bathroom light and home darker light. The hair is still coming big time so many small little hair can not be seen on those pics. Let me know what you think so far
  11. I am sad to see that your experience is different from mine. I am a physician and a surgeon. I Was very worried about choosing my doctor. I was unlucky to have had a surgery during the bad days which left me with a huge scar and very few additional hairs (1200 at the time I needed 2000-3000) 12 years ago. My experience with Dr Umar and his staff was totally different . It was very positive. I was treated like all the other patients. Eventhough I would have liked "special treatment" as a physician, I did not get it but I got their nice courteous day to day simple interaction. Although I have to say they tried to accomodate me with time. I have to admit that in this area of medicine where you do only ONE CASE PER DAY, and you do cases on same patient for 2-4 days in a row, you have to make people pay up front because people take things lightly and tend to cancel and as a result of this 1-4 days are down completely and the doctor has to pay for the whole staff. We do the same in the infertility area with patients scheduled for 2 hours first visit , if one patient does not show half the day goes down. His staff was very professional to me at all times. He is a confident but humble guy himself. I love the pay he speaks, I love his voice. He is reassuring but yet down to earth, humble eventhough he means what he says. He told me "he would give me a youthful nice hairline with enough density" he showed me a video of a guy who seemed to have similar baldness as mine and showed me the outcome of that guy. In all honesty now at almost 4 months I feel that his claims might actually come all true. MY hairline is perfect, I am waiting for more density...it is filling up day by day. I will be posting more pics on my main thread as they come. I am excited. I am really aggravated at negative threads that are out of anger and NOT out of objectivity. I hope that my hair keeps growing to show you that you the negative ones how WRONG THEY ARE. It is time to PRAISE surgeons with INOVATION and COURAGE.. I am tired of praising the ones that have been doing th esame thing over and over for 2 decades
  12. 3 1/2 months have passed. at 4-5 months I will take official pics perhaps at the doctor for now still some phone pics I am starting to relax because I think this transplant will work, i see a LOT of hair growing in between the ones that show on cam . In bright light I am still not satisfied but they the hair transplant results are far from complete I think i will be alright what do you guys think?
  13. in answer to your question franky. Yes I have not missed work, in fact unfortunately I started a new job 1 month ago as a director of a program and practicing doctor. Do I look good ? NO! Do people notice? Off course! Does everyone notice ? NO I can tell some eyes don't wonder up there. ANd I think the shaving on sides made the lines less visible than before that ( i asked two people they agree) as far as why did I leave it a little longer in back, it is cause of my huge incision from previous surgery. thats why anyone who does open surgery is litterally crazy, I dont think FUE is better it is almost equal and without the scar...the scar is a huge issue for people who lilke short hair...If I didnt have that I would shave everything off and wait. the lighting is very strong but the cam is bad quality. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=11272&d=1292728642 this one is clearest . I will wait for my new phone i will take pics with it. meanwhile you can tell there is growth, its not enough to judge anything but you can clearly see the growth and hairline. nothing to be proud of yet , so I humbly lower my head till all is over, and if I dont get what I need I will live with this extreme handicap. Meanwhile I will keep updating very frequently
  14. It will be 3 months in 2 weeks. Here I am now with some growth If it keeps growing like this I think it is good? what do you tihink>?
