  1. I hear you. I am hoping some doctors can chime in and answer for you. i mean other health conditions can play a factor, scarring alopecia, fungal infections, low vitamin d or other blood related issues. Heavy folliculitus and scratching scalp causing scarring. Too many things. Now, if you hair extracted from safe zone, it could be that diffuse hairs could be present in safe zone as well. Some medications can accelerate or cause hair loss issues as well. In any case, the doctor that worked on you should be able to forecast and see issues or miniaturization issues with the scalp. What did the doc that worked on you say? Did the doc say what could be the cause? dht resistent hair shouldnt normally shed like that so quick (if it was from dht resistent area). It is surprising.
  2. https://www.drcarloswesley.com/follicular-unit-extraction/ There are many other articles where it mentions lifetime hairs from safe zone after I did a search on google. https://haircenter.com/2018/11/07/vitamin-deficiency-hair-loss/ also, i feel from my own experiences, excessive freezing of scalp and excess liquid saline injections to numb the scalp, could cause tissue damage and that hairs may fall later or thin out. I feel extra scarring to the scalp and dense packing can also harm hairs. Too many factors. but to see your 2017 to 2020 look, it has noticeably changed. Were you prone to have further hairloss on norwood scale in future? Most hairloss is somewhat stable by 35-40 to a degree that you can predict where it is headed. best wishes to you
  3. If the hairs were taken from safe zone they should last forever. Within a period of 3 years it would be a drastic change. Are your Vitamin d levels good?
  4. Wow- Work looks really clean and refined. H&W clinic looks like they are the best in Canada. Kind of regret i have. What if i went to them instead, maybe i would not be in the mess I am in. They seem to know what they are doing.
  5. From my own experience, it seems true . The doctor has ruined my scalp with it, it seems and i am trying to get out of the situation. He never personally contacted me again. Just had his agents respond to me when i reached out, but the responses were nothing productive. Then i realized it was a mistake to even get in that chair
  6. Whoever did Elon’s, it looks natural. And yes, by the way the scar is, I was thinking H&W., But at least the man can go out in public and take interviews without issue. He can also function in his job, he can be forward facing up close to people, which unfortunately, some of us can’t anymore. I dont think somE doctors realize the magnitude of damage they caused or just do not care when they get the money.
  7. Up to 4,000 in frontal to mid and done really carefully in a two day procedure (if fue). Best to avoid any risk to transecting your existing hairs. Overall, if progressive hair loss resumes, you would need about 6,000 to 7,000 grafts to cover entire scalp. It will need to be dine meticulously and with proper lateral slit technique to create a better more natural illusion. I would say FUE may be riskier then FUT in terms of yield. Good luck!
  8. Lots of good advice above I am glad you decided to Avoid another surgical procedure (esp body hair at the moment). No reason a surgeon should have attempted to repair you and use up grafts after realizing how poorly the work yielded first time around. Nor should have had operated on you at a young age until progression was more evident, but now is the time to try to feel better. It has been a long journey indeed and a struggle for you that never should have been. I know the feeling as an ever ongoin repair patient. It really affects a person. I too hope to have an ethical person correct the issue. I am glad that you have decided to try smp. It is probably the best option when it comes to creating an illusion of density around the scalp. It willl hopefully fill in and blend well within existing hairs that have lost some density as well. Should really help with scar line for sure. I know that is a concern for you as well. i remember fouseytube initially had great smp done. It looked well blended and even gave a great fade look. He was able to carry shaved look well, but whats interesting is, he had a great hair system that also complemented it later and gave options. There is hope and just remember to stay strong. I hope this gives you some peace and allows you to carry on without added stress. here is fouseytube with tattoo repair via smp here he is with smp and hair piece I think when done right, it can give you options and relieve stress you’ve endured. i am rooting for you. This struggle from the start wasn’t easy, but i hope this really helps you. Keep us updated man! Best wishes.
  9. Depends on multiple factors. If you have an extremely wide or high forhead you need to approach differently. If you have an average head you shouldnt lower it. Some people can carry it and some can’t. Hair type matters and proper surgical protocols will matter. Everything has to be taken in account for when enhancing the hairline or lowering. Yes, it is true that a hairline expert surgeon with maximum level of artistry is required. Dense packing should be avoided. If a patient says Lateral slit, they should get lateral slit instead of hair sticking up like trees. Proper Lateral slit adds to an illusion of a more natural hairline with enhancement towards density. I would say tread carefully with anything in the hairline. Avoid surgeons that say anything to get you in the chair. Do not fall for a surgeons guarantee. Otherwise, folks can end up like what i’m going through. Best of luck to all.
  10. I think you responded really good to meds. I dont think you had a vellus hair experience, but rather gained back what you actually lost in the 2 year period. With vellus hairs, it takes a long time to convert (if any) to stronger hairs. In this case, the hairs are more like your native hairs and they grew out as such and did so quickly. It is most likely because you acted quick and got on a finasteride and rogaine regimen. definite improvement and it will probably get better as time goes on. Keep a good diet and as long as you continue to respond well to meds, you should be ok. on another note, it doesn’t hurt to get Vitamin D levels checked out in your blood. If you are borderline or low on vitamin d for your age group, that can also cause you to shed hairs or thing them out. If that is the case, a doctor may recommend taking vitamin d3 and at a certain amount to keep everything healthier.
  11. You can see some definition there, it may thicken up more Happened to him as well:
  12. Looks like there is growth but vellus is really fine light colored hair. Your hairs were dark from the beginning? If you lost that hair within 2-3 years, possibility is you grew it back. The longer time goes by without intervention and meds, the more it can be lost forever. What percentage are you using? Are you applying twice a day?
  13. This is interesting to see. I am an ongoing repair myself. Was harmed by the doc and trying to get a successful repair. I didn’t go to Turkey though. It was Canada and was the start of my traumatized skin and yield issues due to many issues with the surgical protocol. looking forward to these updates. did you have any raised ridging in front prior to the repair? Thanks for sharing!
  14. PRP is beneficial if it is done right with proper amount of injections. Dr Cooley may be a good person to ask as he has done them since they first were used for hair enhancement. He has had some promising results from what was presented online. See if you can reach out to prp patients with your hair texture and caliber. That may help gauge. Best of luck.
  15. Dont fall for the trap. Think of hair restoration at 29- 30 when it easier to see where it is headed. Till then use meds and im sure if they work they can hold your hairs well. i went around that age and guess what, ive been a repair trying to get this sorted ever since. From known docs too. It is not cut and dry like some make it seem. I have your hair type too. Best of luck!
  16. Portugal, good list. Yea you may have mass market clinics in any country where surgery is cheap. Turkey can be good if you research well. You cant just blacklist an entire country due to a few. Hell, what happened to me in Canada and California is not right. I am left hanging with damaged scalp. Those docs are known, but more costly. At the moment, im trying to get fixed. hope you find a good surgeon. It is all about how fast they rush and what their surgical protocol is. Whether they pace your surgery or dense back it to risk damage. Or if they use a tool tgat is detrimental for your type of hair or if they use a novice tech or nurse instead of the surgeon focusing. Lots of factors. Do not at all go for anyone doing a ht on you using a device with suction, saline suction or air suction. Avoid any tool that is not used fully in the industry. Ask doctors what tools they used for extraction. Lots of questions to ask. Do not fall in to the rep trap either. Ask real patients and repair patients with your texture and caliber of hair. please be careful of the surgery- i am suffering and can tell you to not get confused but research and ask each doctor the same questions to get answers. best of luck
  17. It can if the area isn’t heavily impacted by surgery, thus having excessive scar tissue. Scar tissue will destroy native hairs there and hinder the growth esp if high density packing was used. so if you have active vellus hairs there, you got a good shot!
  18. Better question is , are you paying for staff or paying for a surgeon for surgery? doctors can also mess up, but you need to to keep minimal risks in all aspects of surgery. If that means picking doctor over staff lessens your overall risk, then that may be a better option.
  19. Honestly, I’d love to point you in the right direction. But here is the thing- right now it is a 50/50 gamble. I have to be honest with you. If you get hairs transplanted in a zone where there are hairs thinning and low in density, the doctors will take your money. Then when the 12 month growth time frame comes, you will see minimal to minor result, unlike the one the doctor previously got you excited about or promised. Then you will ask on this forum, my result is the way it is and not expected— you will hear this- oh you probably lost the other thinning Native hairs and thats why you do not see any distinct changes. If anything, you may be told if you hadn’t done anything then you may not have any hair there at all. The doctor would probably say he or she did what you asked but you lost hair, and reality money as well. these type of stories happen quite often. i really wish there is a better way to target this but in all honesty, keep putting nanogen or fibers till you can and continue medicine. When that loss in crown is getting shiny and progressed to a completely bald area, then consider another evaluation. I am telling you, with weak native hairs you are risking permanent shockloss and unnecessary transection with transplanted grafts. i am telling you as an ongoing repair patient, my life has been impacted negatively and i am chasing repairs as the repair doctor could not deliver. I am left hanging by doctors. One doctor wanted a way out of their mistakes that led me and my scalp towards harm, the other stopped personal correspondence when theIr repair and assurances seemed to fail. I am left hanging trying to get out of this harm and puzzle. one thing i realized is to be careful. I have a similar headshape and issues as you, and even hair type. So, i know this may turn out negatively and i am urging you to try to be patient and try to fight it with other tools until your native hair does progress. Each time your scalp is impacted, it creates scar tissue. And each time you may have harder time gaining yield as doctors keep impacting the same area within that scar tissue. So it is better to wait and let the area get slick bald (crown that is). That will help you yield better growth and prevent permanent shockloss. i cant stress that enough. I am trying to genuinely inform, where some doctors fail to inform. The last thing i want is for anyone to face what I face and to go through the pain I do on a day to day basis. Do not fall for any hype or promise or promise of being a showcase result by any doctor. Soch samaj ke karo. Be safe Wish you all the best
  20. In the range of 2000-2500 with a doctor that can plant without shocking neighboring hairs. If you can hold off and use toppik or nanogen to cover up it may be better. But if you need this then definitely evaluate doctors And ask them to see actual crown results. Best of luck
  21. The longer you can go without one, the better it is. I didnt have a pleasant experience and i had similar hair and concerns. It has set me back and im still looking for an ethical repair. medications can help quite a bit - once your cut, you are cut. Best of luck to you
  22. Yes, its very real. Even with the known surgeons. Depends on the extraction pattern and punch size used. Also, some surgeons may say that you need 1800 grafts, but may make 100 or more extractions to make up for bad grafts extracted. Overharvesting can cause density patches in donor and i know how it feels. In any case, you don’t want to end up as a person needing repairs. It is the worst feeling.
  23. Best is to ask how many surgeries per day if i book with you? How much attention can you give me during my surgery? Can you cater to my goals that I am asking? Can you make sure my donor isn’t traumatized to the point if visual scarring or donor density losses? How many grafts can you do in one day? Will you follow up with me on a regular basis to make sure im ok? Will you be available if i need prescription for something if there is an emergency as a result of transplant. What do you offer to satisfy a customer? If there is yield issue, how do you remedy and do you charge more? Will you have my back? How many failures have you had this year? Are there any real patients I can meet that gad similar goals as mine? you can pretty much keep going, but how a doctor answers will probably give you assurances.
  24. Hang in there man. I can feel the pain. Do not go for body and other hair Transplant in North America. I did not have a good experience either and i would not recommend anyone for that here. Doctor caused more damage then good and i too have regrets of trusting doctors. I was let down big time. I hope you can get things sorted. I too am looking for a way out with an ethical doctor. Feel free to pm if you need. Again, keep yourself strong and hang in there.
