  1. Its hard to judge PRP + Acell's effectiveness. Before Dr. Cooley's presentation, I thought the procedure was pretty much dead. Dr. Cooley's pictures are by far the best Ive seen, but it seems there should be a lot more examples if this procedure is being used on a regular basis. It would be nice to get some idea of the consistency in its effectiveness from the doctors who are using it. If it works 5% of the time, its probably not worth trying. But if there is a 50% or higher success rate, it probably is worth trying. Unfortunately, we have no indication what the success rate is and I think that is generally a bad sign.
  2. I appreciate Dr. Cooley's presentation. After Dr. Rassman's study failed to achieve results, I think most people gave up on hair plucking as a viable option. The fact that hair plucking only works when the plucked grafts are placed near existing hair may explain why other studies have failed. I am also intrigued by Dr. Cooley's presentation about Acell + PRP. If his results are as good as they appear to be from the pictures, it would seem that this combination is far more significant than anything we can expect from the major companies working on hair multiplication, if they even work at all. One thing I would like to hear more about is success rates. For example, if plucked hair is placed within existing hair, what is the success rate? How many patients experience growth and what are the growth rates? I have the same question regarding PRP. When done in thinning areas, what percentage of patients respond? Assuming that Dr. Cooley's presentation established the possibility of plucking and Acell + PRP, I think we need this information to determine if it is truly a game changer. Would love to hear thoughts on these issues from forum member or the doctors who are pioneering these methods.
  3. SMG has posted a 12 month result: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/142530-pharmds-fue-dr-paul-shapiro-1897-grafts-4.html Thoughts?
  4. Are these pictures real? You mean there is hope for thining hair? I went to Bosley - a salesperson looked at my thining scaple and said I need 1200 inserts for $13,000? I said no. A month later I got a sales brochure $5995 for 1000 grafts? I did not or could not see the doctor.

    Sounds like a scam.

  5. I would suggest using the search function to search for nuhart. Then look at what people have posted in the past about their experiences.
  6. Have you researched NuHart on these forums? Have you reviewed the experiences of posters that have had procedures by them?
  7. Good to hear the fever is gone. 4500 even spread out over three days is still a ton of trauma to the head in a short amount of time, so its no surprise that you are sore. How long are you going to stay in the hotel before you travel? I'm sure you'll have some good growth.
  8. I think you look pretty normal for just having a received a massive number of grafts. I don't think I've heard of an FUE session this large before. I would also note that as far as the swollen face, other patients of Umar's seem to have had similar swelling and their results turned out ok. If all that grows, you are going to look awesome. Any idea how much donor you have left. Any pics of the donor?
  9. I think oversight could be an issue with the system described above. I would feel a lot better knowing that my doctor is around keeping an eye on things rather than splitting his time between several patients. That way if a tech is tired or just having a bad day, he/she can catch it before too much damage is done. I don't think it is unusual for doctors to do several patients in one day, but I don't think I would feel comfortable with it. There is too much at stake for the patient.
  10. The results posted so far look great. Would love to see some 12 month FUE results from the Shapiro Medical Group.
  11. Anybody know if this kind of scarring is typical of FUE procedures?
  12. Who was your doctor? Those scars look very large.
  13. Thanks for your input Topcat. I took a look at your blog and wow, it looks like you have been through a lot. I'm glad you found help with Dr. Bisanga. Any thoughts on the scars from the body hair transplants? Are they noticeable?
  14. Does anybody else have any thoughts on Bisanga? It would be great to hear from some previous patients.
  15. Looks good overall. The right side looks awesome. Hopefully both sides will fill in more in the coming months. Six months is still really early right? Have you mentioned your concerns about the left side to Dr. Umar? Thanks for posting!
