  1. How many grafts are you expecting for $18k???
  2. Hope you feel better...I think a lot of people will go throught depression on or off Fin or any other drugs. When someone starts a drug, and have a medical change, they automatically assume it is the med, but it is not always. Especailly with a drug like Fin....becasue I think most men losing hair go through heavy emotions about it (the loss of the hair).
  3. For 2000 grafts I think that is a very good result,,,I agree some indoor not flash would help with assessing.
  4. Yeah, who was the doc, That does look like an FUE fail, a lot of scarring for 1000 grafts....how many months post op are you?
  5. Anyone know of or how it would go about to do very small FUE sessions....like "maintenance" sessions?? I have a little bit of thinning at the hairline and some temporal recession/thinning. Most people would not consider a transplant where I am but I am kicking around the idea of doing small sessions and trying to "keep up" instead of waiting til I need 3000 grafts. (if I ever do) Sure it would be under a 1000....but prolly like 6-8 hundred I would also like to do non-shaved.... I know some doctors only do one proceedure a day....but would a doctor block a day for such a small session? Any thoughts?
  6. I do think his pics look great....on that note...you cannot post pics of a doctor not getting back you or meeting your needs....on that note again....there is a little credibility lost on John's part after seeing these pics, especially if he does not post pics showing otherwise. that said...John should take some pics and show us what he is talking about....cause based on the pics...his surgery looks great.
  7. Looks really good! Especially for 1600 grafts, honestly I would have guessed you at more than that based on your preop photos. Good luck.
  8. The hair line looks great but behind it is still very thin and his "faux" hawk kind of covers it up. Maybe he is considering further sessions...but at least his hair line looks really good.
  9. It is had to tell with your pics....luckily you seem to have wuite a bit of hair to save... START FINASTERIDE ASAP!!! See a doctor and make sure that he diagnoses you with MPB...the balding just above the ear seems strange. Are you losing body hair from any other regions? I have some very mild frontal minituration that most people say I am silly for starting fin, but I am doing it anyway to stay ahead of the game. I ask myself if I am silly sometimes but have decided to keep taking it...hopefully I will keep my hair long enough for a cure to be found, medical science is great these days.... I have had no side effects and the it seems that you can contribute some of your side effects of BALDING to deppression, therefore, if the sides you get from fin are less then deppression, fin is prolly the answer. I really do not think fin is as bad as everyone says as far as side effects go. Also, it seems that you are old enough that you prolly have pretty strong genes so I feel there is a good chance that you would respong to Fin. I also think that they can still treat you with DPA, they would just adjust your master plan and treat you as if you were a NW7. That said it seems that you are stating that your sides are patchy as well which could create some donor issues. Anyway, good luck to you and I hope you find inner peace. Please consider starting Fin and seeing a hair specialist to map you head and give you a proper diagnosis.
  10. Well thanks for the comments and kinda setting my mind at ease...could be lighting or the way my hair was laying....hairline is a prolly a NW2....definatley a mature hairline.... The hair is really short so it could just be the crown....the hair is kind of pushing different directions in that area...thanks for the positive comments....even if I dont have to be here yet....I really like the kind people on this forum.... I have a pretty strong family history so I try to stay on it....luckily, I am 31 and most of my family have shown strong MPB by this age so maybe I dodged the bullet. I did recently start proscar as a preventive measure and slight frontal reccession. Again...thanks for ther comments!
  11. OK....I attached 2 pics...I know they are small...my wife is saying that this is just a cow lick and a part....but not sure wether to believe her...does this look like MPB to u? I have thought it was before but shaved it tighter and all the hair looks the same....so...what do u think....did I marry a lier or am I tripping? Took some in different lighting and one is with my hair grown out...where u can not tell at all.... Just trying to stay on top of things...
  12. There is no evidence that I have heard of that states it "wears off"....yes....over time, your more sensitive hair becomes affecting by the lower amounts of DHT in the body, but that does not mean that the fin is not lowering your DHT....most people (I believe) who start taking it at 30 will have much more hair at 50 then if they had not taken it...even if they do lose some....who is to say where they would be at if they hadn't....that is why twin studies are so great... Anyway...I do think that if you don;t want to take fin because in 10 years it will be less effective and you may start losing hair, then hair loss is not that important to you you and you should not worry about it... my 2 cents...
  13. Who is your doc? #k grafts placed correctly on your head will make a big difference....good luck
  14. I have a decent head of hair and would surely be a NW7 if that were true....bwahahaha
  15. Wow....he and I have similar hairlines.....I was not thinking I was needing close to 2700 grafts....but the result does look great!
  16. I would really look at it and ask if the cost is worth the benifit,,,,I have seen lots of people on here say they are glad they waited a few extra years...by the way...if you imported your pics on the thread you will get more replies.
  17. My personal opinion is that you are a little too young and I would not think that you would get your hair line lowered enough to make it worth it.....but that is just my opinion.... I would start finasteride if you are not using it....and maybe Rogaine if you like.... If you were a little older and your hairloss pattern were established I would say go for it. I have a hairline about like yours and I am sticking to drugs for now. I an 31.
  18. I think I psyced myself out....for about 2 weeks....but i am good now...
  19. Yeah....it is still early....but I share your concern
  20. Fin has like a 6-8 hour half life and it is once a day....and once your dht levels have dropped it takes like a week to pic back up....so 1/2 life doesn't mean everything depending on what it is doing to your system...but you know that...
  21. I agree....and a shaved head is not for me cause of my scalp condition...so I would probably personally trade less hair for a normal scalp....the go Jason Statham on their asses... Anyway...I just really hate to hear "baldness has ruined my life"....My junk looks like an alien....but I would hate to think if I lost it all that hair loss has ruined my life... I think to myself...if they mind....then they don't matter! Not saying that I don't worry about it....but on that note...I am currently in the process of working on "inner peace"....for subjects just like this, no matter how one gets it...through religion or meditation or whatever....I think that it is going to be an important part of my life.... I am personally in the process of studing this subject and am considering a daily meditation routine...this is not just for hair loss, but for inner peace in all aspects of my life.
