  1. I still have him use the clipper but I'm not sure what number. He used to go all the way up in the back but now he only goes up about halfway. I guess he's trying to hide the scar. It bothers him more than it bothers me. I told him I'll just tell people I had brain surgery. He asked "to have one put in"? And I told him no to have some taken out. It just got too big for my head. 🤕
  2. Yes, I just had a 2nd procedure after about 9 years. First one was June 2010 second one was in July of 2019. I'm about 6 months out. I started seeing more density after 4 or 5 months. Enough to not worry about how I combed my hair after 5 months. It's the longest 4 months of my life seemingly.
  3. Thanks for the encouragement, Merlin. Your hair looks great. I'm hoping my results are just as good. I used a different doctor this time. Dr Charles in Boca Raton. I used Dr Charles b/c he was closer in proximity. It has been 95 days since my 2nd procedure. Starting to see some minor improvement in density but it's just starting to come in. Dr Cooley will always be the best in my mind. Dr Charles does excellent work too.
  4. Yes you're right that is the whole point. I just had a 2nd procedure on July 12th so I'm in the middle of it again. First procedure was in 2009.
  5. Merlin; Thanks for the thread and sharing your experience. I really enjoyed following your progress. Looks like you're at about the 9 month mark. We would love to see some update photos.
  6. Looks good Merlin. You still have a few months left of continued growth. If you're at 121 days now figure about another 100 days of more growth. You will see added thickness! I would estimate about 7 to 8 months before my growth really peaked. You know Dr Cooley would say stop freaking out about it!
  7. You'll get more thickness up to about 6 or 7 months. Looks good now though. Dr Cooley says "the more you look at it the slower it grows".
  8. Wow Merlin that looks like great work. I had 3,122 grafts transplanted in 2009 by Dr Cooley. Still extremely satisfied with the work. I had seen the most growth between the 4th and 5th month. After 7 months it was thicker than ever and continued getting thicker the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th month. It is all very individual so don't get discouraged. Make sure you take the Propecia (Finasteride). That helps a lot.
  9. I had my HT done by Cooley about a year ago on June 10th, 2010. He is one of the best in the country. Very skilled, competent and customer service oriented. You can't go wrong with Cooley and his staff.
  10. I use a company out of Canada known as Planet Drugs Direct: (link removed) They have the 5 mg Proscar tablets, 90 for $45 with free shipping. They also have the 1 mg Propecia tablets, 90 tablets for $46. I just cut the 5 mg Proscar tablets into quarters and it's a lot cheaper.
  11. Hi Joe; I wanted to take a shot at this because no one else was responding. Everything you are feeling is perfectly normal. You will be at times over the next 6-8 months feeling a lot of anxiety and anticipation. I am at 8 months now (Dr Cooley, 3,288 grafts) and have never been happier with my decision and the results. Most will tell you that the growing and maturization will continue up to 12 to 18 months. The recipient area will get much thinner until it gets thicker again. That is the anxiety part. It really started growing for me around 4 months but it is different for everyone, I had a lot of shock loss. The soreness should subside pretty much after about 3 or 4 weeks. I don't know about the Aloe Vera moisturizer but it sounds okay, you should probably consult with your HT physician. I used Emu Oil as a moisturizer but mainly to keep the Follicle Solution Therapy Spray in my hair so it didn't evaporate away. That is sort of a conditioner that I used because I felt it was being helpful. Probably not though, I spoke to the doctors assistant and she said that no matter what you put in your hair it doesn't really matter. It is an individual thing and everyone will grow at their own pace. I hope this helps a little. I'll leave you with one thing Doctor Cooley told me (I don't think he'll mind) "The more you look at it the slower it grows". Just try to eliminate all stress from your life right now, I know easier said than done. Happy Growing!
  12. I apologize if it was confusing. Those are the 3 docs I felt who are the best in N. America. If it has to be FUE Docs then I would say Ron Shapiro and Paul Shapiro. Hope that clears up my vote.
  13. I mentioned that most of the docs don't do FUE in my post. I was just trying to respond to your post because you said no one was responding and everyone on this site site was advertising for clinics. You seem a little argumentative!
  14. 1. Dr Hasson 2. Dr Cooley 3. Dr Wong Most doctors seem to shy away from the FUE procedure because it damages the follicle during extraction.
