8 Month update- Dr. Rahal 4,616 FUT
headbangerguy replied to Capelli11's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Looking at your pre-op, really amazing. I'm glad you're happy with the results. -
I think this is what Dr Umar meant. If you think he failed on you twice, then it's logical to see another opinion. What's the guarantee that it would be a success on the third pass for the same doctor?

4 months-Dr. Feller-1350 grafts

Your hair looks great bro (although it's from iphone). Wonder if you have better pre-op photos like the ones taken from the clinic. -
I'm down to Hasson or Rahal (looking for LOTS of advice)

Have you considered micropigmentation? Don't know if this is suggested already, but I reckon you'd rock with it. -

My FUE With Dr. Rahal 3000+ Grafts (Large Procedure)
headbangerguy replied to Sean's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Hey brother Hariri, The only thing unusual for Sean is the large amount of FUE. The last 2 reasons are I think standards for every FUE with Dr Rahal. But I'm also interested to see what's the head-to-head study between the motorized tool and the non-motorized method.- 459 replies

My FUE With Dr. Rahal 3000+ Grafts (Large Procedure)
headbangerguy replied to Sean's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Hey Sean, sorry that you're not happy with the result so far. Definitely below the standard that we know Dr Rahal has set the bar for hairline/FUE results. Majority of his patients chose him because of the awesome hairline that we are accustomed to see. And you don't have it so far. Still rooting for you to get it after few more months but those who got great results already had great results by 6 months or so. I always think of youngandy (Hair Restoration Journal for youngandy - 6 months update), who at 3 months was already awesome, as Dr Rahal's standard for FUE/hairline although it's unfair to compare due to a number of variables involved. I still envy his results though. Goodluck brother.- 459 replies

Maybe it looks better in person cuz you're that happy, but in photos, I don't see any huge difference between pre and post.

I have met Dr Rahal few months back in his clinic and even drove me back to my place in Ottawa. This guy is both humble and confident. He looks at your eyes, and then to your hair, and he will tell you what he thinks you need based on your expectations and a number of physiologic variables inside his mind. He is never arrogant (I hate arrogant doctors) and he never promises you the moon. He uses the word "try" when he means it, that "we will try" to get as much as FUE grafts. In contrast to some opinions, he is never aggressive in lowering hairline. He just excels in a real good, thick hairline. He'd say, "I don't think it's a good idea to aggressively lower your hairline, what you need is..." Never badmouths other clinics/doctors. I knew of another doctor who does FUE and he boasts that those doctos who don't do FUE are lazy. Just gives me tinnitus inside my ears. When asked if he's happy on what he does as his SUV rolls onto the icy Ottawa streets, I was expecting his answer to be something like, "Nah, I'm really getting tired of this sh*t, same thing every day," instead, he told me, "Yeah, I still love the art and the science of it (hair transplant)." That's without hesitation or equivocation. "You're very popular in the forum," I quipped, expecting him to pat his own back and respond in a narcissistic way. All he did was smile and almost felt embarrassed.

FUE is rather more tedious for the clinic. I still think the clinic who offers both FUT/FUE would, in general, prefer FUT. FUE may be more expensive but since FUT can harvest more hair, monetarily, at least it evens out or perhaps gets more for the clinic than FUE. That's the good thing about Dr Rahal, he or his rep does not sell FUT. He may probably suggest it if you are really not a candidate for FUE. In some clinics, they ask for double consent: if they think you are not a candidate for FUE, then they will do FUT in the middle of the procedure. My advice: if you have the money, and FUE can be done, then do it. I feel that you're very keen for it anyway. One caveat: there's no guarantee that they can get 2.5-3K under FUE. They will try, but again, there is no guarantee. (Oops, sorry I didn't see your post that you're not doing FUE anymore)

Another great result from Dr Rahal. Is the patient thinking of working on his crown?

Negative review is about unmet expectation or outright totally failed procedure. I'm pretty sure Dr Rahal has at least the first one. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/164456-2500-fut-dr-rahal-hairline-repair.html The link above is about Hariri's procedure with Dr Rahal. Although you won't call it negative, he is not totally happy at the present moment (at 11 months). Otherwise all the other reviews are very positive. I have not read about Mp96's case.

Embarassed by HT operation?
headbangerguy replied to OttawaJay's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I work in medical field, and few months prior to HT, I donned a surgical cap (to accustom my colleagues), then also wore it for 2+ months after HT. If you cannot do it, my advice is probably to concoct a story that you had a very bad allergic reaction to hair product (exaggerate it by saying, you had Steven Johnson Syndrome and needed to be hospitalized for few days). Good luck!
