  1. Thanks for the comments guys. yesplease, Dr. Hasson estimates an additional 2,000 grafts may have been available with an initial FUT depending on scalp laxity. Doug Kline
  2. Here are a few photos 1 day post-op. When trying to determine how skilled a clinic is at extracting grafts, look for the smallest possible punch size (while still preserving graft integrity) and an even distribution of extraction sites. (Of course don’t neglect the recipient site regarding growth rates, angle direction control of transplanted hair, hairline design, densities among other factors). Or just look at the quality and consistency of the results over many years😊. Also keep in mind the harvest is important in preserving the donor hair for future considerations. If the harvest is not properly executed, collateral damage to the surrounding follicles can occur and therefore diminish the donor area reserves. An improper harvest can also prevent the purpose of being able to wear the hair short without any noticeable defects. This patient’s remaining donor reserves have been carefully preserved. Notice the uniform spacing of the extraction sites, how small they are and how quickly they start to heal.
  3. Thanks for the comments Steeeve, Mycroft and OliverAtom! Mycroft: Day 1 was devoted to the hairline where 2537 grafts were employed. Day 2 consisted of all the crown work using 2162 grafts. This patient has above average donor area density and Dr. Hasson estimates another 7,000 grafts available via FUE. OliverAtom: Here’s another shot of the crown. The goal here is to greatly improve the appearance of the crown while also striking a good balance with the mid scalp/front. To responsibly manage the donor reserves we don’t want to commit too many grafts to the crown but just enough to create the desired cosmetic impact while still maintaining a fairly seamless transition into the mid-scalp. Stayed tuned for some post-op shots of the donor area.
  4. This Vancouver-area patient in his early 40’s approached Hasson & Wong in the hopes of restoring density to his frontal zone, mid-scalp and crown. He first began to lose his hair around the age of 25 characterized by recession in the temples and thinning of the crown. Without intervention, Dr. Hasson estimated his likely progression to be a stage 6-7. Upon review of this patient’s case, Dr. Hasson determined that he was a good candidate for a large-scale FUE procedure to address the areas of concern. He also recommended that the patient use Finasteride in order to minimize further hair loss and improve the mid-scalp. During the course of a two-day FUE procedure, Dr. Hasson and his team successfully harvested 4699 grafts that were transplanted into his hairline/frontal zone and crown. Of these grafts, 300 were singles, 2485 were doubles and 1914 were 3-4 hair grafts. These photos were taken approximately 11 months post-op.

  8. Vancouver area patient in his mid 30’s bothered by his receding hairline. He tried PRP but was not happy with its minimal at best results. Dr. Hasson and team used 4,500 grafts via FUE to rebuild a new lower hairline and frontal zone blending into the mid-scalp. 350 singles were used in the hairline, 3182 were double hair grafts and 968 were 3-4 hair grafts. His donor hair was good with high density and average texture. These photos were taken 9 months post-op.
  9. Tyeone/yesplease, Here are the post-op shots from the last procedure which gives you and idea of the temple reconstruction. He was taking Finasteride prior to his first procedure. I've reached out to him for an update and I'll try and get that for next year.
  10. This Vancouver area patient in her mid-20’s came to Hasson & Wong hoping to improve her less than desirable hairline height and temple recession. With good donor hair density, above-average scalp laxity and no desire to shave her head in the future, FUT was chosen as the method of extraction. Dr. Wong and his team successfully harvested 2399 grafts to lower her hairline and address the temple recession to a create a more feminine looking framing. 663 grafts were single hair grafts, 1351 were doubles and 385 were multi-hair grafts. These photos were taken 11 months post-op

  20. James has a few spots left if you'd like to meet him next weekend in Fort Lauderdale.
  21. Russ, Every case can be unique. Whether we recommend medication before, after or not at all is more a product of the patients donor supply and final hair loss pattern. We don’t expect or rely on the medication to prevent potential temporary shock loss as a result of a procedure. We have a consultation office in Seattle where I see patients a few times a month. Get in touch with me and we can set up a visit. You can also go to our website and fill in the online consultation form to get an evaluation: https://hassonandwong.com/hair-transplant-consultation/
  22. Thanks Russ! This was done with forceps. I think both methods are good in the hands of the right highly skilled doctor and team. One doctor and team might be able to achieve better density with the implanter where another might feel more comfortable and be able to achieve high density with forceps. We employ both methods at our clinic. The doctor and team must work in concert to achieve this type of high density. If the doctor doesn't possess the rare skill to dense pack like this, the insertion method may be irrelevant. The converse may also be true. In my opinion, if the doctor or clinic you choose consistently produces results like this, it doesn't matter how they do it as long as they just do it 😉
