  1. No offense taken. Thanks for the compliment. What I might add in response is that often times the best donor hair is higher up. In addition, if the patient wants to wear a fade, the doc can take the hair a little higher in the permanent zone. If taken too low, especially in cases of retrograde loss, you can run the risk of getting hair that may not be as strong and susceptible to thinning. On many of our repair patients I've also seen incisions taken to low even without much retrograde and if too low, the skin tends to be more elastic and the scar can stretch. I do believe over the years good doctors have taken notice that taking the strip too low is not ideal. I agree, no "scar-wizardry", just knowledge, experience and skill. On another note, Gigantass: Fabulous!
  2. Spanker/Triple7, He only had 1 procedure. The pics with the short cut were taken 2 weeks post-op at the time of staple removal. It was very clean and looked very nice. A proper haircut blending into the transplanted area can look quite good under the right conditions.
  3. UKLad81/Spanker, Here are a couple more pics, lighting and clarity not perfect but gives you a nice look.
  4. This video was taken at the clinic just before his second procedure. It shows the hair grown out and after the shave to prepare for the 2nd pass.
  5. Thanks guys! Spanker: looks like 2093 into the crown and he was in his early to mid 40's at the time of the procedure. mosd: I agree, but as mentioned we didn't have any imediate post-op. However, I have uploaded a pic that is a relatively close approximation as to where the grafts were placed and the distribution.
  6. This Vancouver area patient came to see Dr. Hasson about his weak hairline and thinning crown. 4693 grafts were used to rebuild the hairline and frontal zone blending into his mid scalp and increasing the density of his crown. Some of the very center of the mid-scalp was not transplanted and medication was employed to hold the margins and possibly improve some of the existing hair. Of the 4693 Grafts, 1904 were singles, 2564 were doubles, 225 were 3-4 hair grafts. There are no immediately post-op pics, The last two photos are 2 weeks post-op, the others are 10 months post-op.

  10. This patient from Mexico in his early 30’s wanted to restore his hair many years after a childhood accident. Boiling oil was spilled causing extensive scarring and damage to the follicles. His first attempt to address this was to have a surgery performed in Mexico City 5-6 years earlier. As evidenced in the pre-op photos, it did little to achieve his goals. Not satisfied, he intensified his research, enter Hasson and Wong. With no MPB and very good donor, Dr. Hasson was confident he could restore the areas of loss. Because of the scarring, 2-3 procedures were planned. After the second, the patient is very happy and the reconstruction is complete. These photos were sent in by the patient 9 months after the second procedure. In the last photo set, the pic on the left shows the growth from the first 2142 grafts, shaved down to prepare for the 2nd procedure. The pic on the right shows the placement of the grafts in the second procedure immediately post-op. Because of the scarring, 2 separate procedures instead of one were employed. We don’t try and dense pack into scar tissue so the first procedure is conservative. Once the first is performed, blood supply returns to the tissue allowing for a more aggressive 2nd pass. The second procedure used 3104 grafts. This is an update of a previous post on this case, that had some broken links, seen here: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/157297-dr-hasson-patient-burn-victim-2142-grafts-one-session-11-months.html
  11. Read his very nice and informative "My Hair Transplant Story" here: https://hassonandwong.com/hair-transplant-story/ We've also just added a very short video at the bottom of the page. More photos to come.
  12. This patient in his mid-30’s from Vancouver went back and forth on his decision of whether to have FUE or FUT. He decided on FUT and was happy with his decision as the scar is not an issue. 3493 grafts were used to restore his hairline and parts of the frontal zone. 917 single hair grafts, 2447 double hair grafts and 129 3-4 hair grafts. His hair is on the fine side and he is wearing a styling product. This result is quite impressive especially considering it is only 6 months post-op
  13. Thanks for the comments guys! PeloDinero: I would say he is between a Norwood 5A and 6. UKLad81: One surgery. Hard to say on grafts per cm2. Maybe 50-60 in the frontal zone, less in mid and crown. It is important to be able to create enough density for a natural result but each case is different. I tell patients not to get caught up in the numbers. One patient may require 70-80 cm2 and another only 40-50. Too many factors to paint a broad brush. The doc will know how dense he'll need to pack it for the maximum cosmetic impact. I'm waiting on a few more pics of the mid-scalp and crown, I will post hopefully soon. Shampoo: Yes, he is quite a happy and proud graduate!

  15. This patient in his early 30’s traveled from Norway to have his procedure with Dr. Wong. His goals were to have as many grafts as possible and cover as much of the scalp that the procedure would allow. His areas of concern included both the front and mid scalp as well as the crown. Needing a large number of grafts, he felt Hasson and Wong would give him the best chance to achieve his goals. With 5328 grafts, Dr. Wong was able to deliver. The 5328 grafts via FUT consisted of 1797 single hair grafts, 3082 doubles and 449 3-4 hair grafts. These photos sent in by the patient are 2 years post-op. So happy and impressed with his result, he wanted to help potential patients in Scandinavia where he feels the options for a quality hair restoration are limited at best. He will be seeing patients and representing Hasson and Wong in Oslo on June 11-12. If you’re interested in a procedure at Hasson and Wong, able to make it to Oslo and would like to see him, sign up here: https://hassonandwong.com/consultations-in-your-city/
  16. kramer79: Generally, yes. 6,000 FUE may give a similar result to 7,200 - 7,500 FUT. Since we can pick only the grafts we want with FUE, fewer singles make up the total and therefore with more 2 and 3 hair grafts, the total amount of hairs is greater than with the same number of grafts in an FUT. So we figure on average between 20 and 25% more coverage or density with FUE versus FUT given the same number of grafts. This would likely hold true for the medium to larger cases. If we need a higher number of singles for just hairline work, the percentage may drop a bit and in some smaller cases not be much different.
  17. Thanks KO. Andy, If this was FUE, we would have probably done around 4,000 grafts in the first procedure. The second would have been around 2,000 for a total of about 6,000 FUE. This total number may have been the equivalent of around 7,500 FUT as far as coverage and result. So we would probably conclude that with FUE he could have had a similar result in 2 procedures to what he achieved in the one FUT session.
  18. Spanker, GasThoeroer, Andy, Spidey, HairLostYears, David, Home1212, Triple7, HTsoon, Thanks for all the comments! GasThoeroer: His loss is MPB and not DUPA. His donor hair was quite good and not showing of any signs of weakness that would prevent a procedure. His sides may continue to drop a bit without medication but the permanent donor zone was easily identified and deemed sufficient. Andy/Spanker: Thanks for the recognition on the documentation/pics. Andy: Unfortunately I did not take these pics, I usually can elicit a smile when I do. He is quite happy even though the pics would not show it! I have attached another pic, slight smile? How’s that? HairLostYears: I see the Rivers Cuomo! Apollo89/mosd: These photos depict only the first surgery result of 7264 grafts. The 2721 grafts for the crown were placed after these photos were taken. Home1212: Don’t have any scar shots but can probably get some at some stage. HTsoon: I have also uploaded a post-op shot of the placement for the 2nd procedure of 2712 grafts.
  19. My response here is both difficult and easy at the same time as I cannot sit by and watch continued and unfair damage to Dr. Hasson and his reputation. So we went from this shampoo or conditioner to bashing Dr. Hasson and the clinic again? I have had conversations with Dutchie that have gone well. I believe, as it may have been eluded to here, that we would both have good things to say regarding those conversations. I found Dutchie to be a pleasure to speak with and reasonable on the phone regarding his case. I understood his feelings and concerns. We always stand behind our work and I told him we would make it right if the result was indeed less than we expected. We agreed maybe he and Dr. Hasson got off on the wrong foot and I was going to take care of him from here. We agreed he was to come out here in March so we could evaluate his result in person. We offered to take care of his travel expenses. Shortly thereafter he then informed me about the ingredient in question and then 10 days later that he has grown “quite a bit more hair” and seemed to be excited about it. At some point along the way he had decided he wanted to hold off on the trip to Vancouver. I told him to keep me posted. I have not spoken to him or texted him or received a text since March. I have also spoken to Dr. Hasson. He informs me he has not contacted Dutchie since last November. Dutchie did send him the sarcastic text in mid-January, which was the last contact between them. So, when I read Dutchie’s quote, I was surprised: “ Oh and BTW, worst aftercare EVER dr. Hasson!!! Its almost to the point of harrassment now. And please stop calling or texting my phone number!! It clearly casts another negative and anyone reading it would assume: a) we have been texting and harassing him and b) he does not appreciate it. So I ask myself why would Dutchie say this ? Aftercare? I have always been available for you since our first contact. Who could be harassing you ? Then the comments about Toronto patients? I have to take Dr. Hasson at his word that he has never said that. In my 15 years at the clinic, Dr. Hasson has told me a lot of things, never have I heard him say a negative word about Toronto patients. One of our consultants is a Toronto patient. Dutchie:You know what, I dont need this shit. I'm gonna ask mods to remove this thread. We'll give dr. Hasson (and his fake reviewers) what they want. Some have said that this thread has brought some value. Maybe. I believe its little value if any is greatly overshadowed by its significant damage to both Dr. Hasson and for that matter Dr. Wong along with the many who are considering a hair transplant. If someone researching hair restoration comes across this thread with its contradictions, misleading and confusing content and concludes that Dr. Hasson and or Hasson and Wong is not the place for them, it has done a great disservice. In my opinion, that potential patient has the greatest chance of getting the best result possible at Hasson and Wong and with this thread he or she may have lost that opportunity. For these reasons, I agree with Duthcie, this thread should be removed. Duthcie, you have been a straight up guy on the phone with me and like I said, I have enjoyed our conversations and actually like you personally aside from what has transpired on this forum. But I am disappointed in this last round of dialogue. We mutually agreed to certain things. You have not done what you said you were going to do in terms of commenting about your case. Your quote from 2 months ago: “I've been in contact with H&W and I've agreed with them to hold off any further comments until we both sit down and have dr. Hasson have a look at this whole thing.” I wish you would have reached out to me before all of this. If you’re getting good growth in the last 2 months and are optimistic about the future and giving it until September then why all of this other stuff that continues to be unfair? We haven’t been given the chance to see you and I’ve not seen any recent photos. If indeed your procedure results in a in failure, based on Dr. Hasson’s body of work I still feel a strong case could be made he was very unfairly treated in this thread. If your hair is growing like you say and the result turns out to be good, then what would you have to say about all of this? I’m sorry? Sorry doesn’t reverse all the damage done, why resort to all this in the first place? Especially after we spoke, got along and agreed on everything. 15 years at H&W, this is a first. Maybe I’m slightly more than disappointed.
  20. This patient in his late 20’s from Edmonton wanted a realistic hairline and as much overall coverage as possible. Through our website https://hassonandwong.com/consultations-in-your-city/ he scheduled a visit to Calgary to see Hasson and Wong representative and former Dr. Hasson patient James to discuss his hair loss and possible options. With his good laxity and density, Dr. Hasson and team were able to harvest 7264 grafts via FUT. 2190 singles, 4564 doubles and 510 3-4 hair grafts were used. With his average texture hair and given the large area to cover, good density throughout the front zone and mid scalp was achieved with a decent amount of coverage in the crown. These photos were taken 15 months post-op on his second visit to the clinic where he received an additional 2721 grafts to increase the density of his crown. With the extra crown work, in 6-12 months, the “great” may have to be upgraded:)
  21. Vancouver area patient in his early 30’s. Receded hairline with little if any loss behind in rest of frontal zone/mid-scalp/crown. Dr. Wong and team lowered the hairline and restored the temporal angles with 2510 grafts via FUT with 841 singles, 1434 doubles and 235 3-4 hair grafts. Apologies for the hair being combed forward in the full head pre-op shots. I think you’ll get the idea of the recession and area of restoration that the closer shots show.
  22. Thanks BeHappy I’m glad you brought the parted hair up. It was awhile back when I posted a great result with great density and coverage that someone commented about a “comb over”. I was quite surprised at this but I thought I’d part the hair to show it was dense throughout. While I’ve seen many comb overs or attempts to hide a lack of density, I would say in general the results I’ve seen in my 15 years from doctors Hasson and Wong don’t require such styling. Of course not all results are as dense as others but a certain density is required. So I agree, in some cases the parted hair pic adds another window into the result. I’ll try to present this type of photo when I can and I feel it will bring value. I appreciate the fact you have taken note. I feel we show as revealing and transparent photos as anyone and thankfully the quality of the work can support such detail. I just need to get the rest of the staff on board with this too when it comes to post-op pics  As far as the temple points, I agree it would bring a nice touch. His hair is quite coarse so this decision will need some thoughtful consideration. If he opts for a little increased density in the crown, he can discuss with Dr. Wong some temple work as well if desired.
  23. Thanks for the comments guys. Yes, he is very happy as you can imagine. His scar healed quite well thanks to the skill of the doctor and the patient's healing characteristics. In general, I would say he healed slightly better than most young patients of Asian descent.
  24. Thanks guys! I agree, quite the transformation. It's remarkable how young he now looks compared to before. Ramez: He had used Finasteride in the past with some reluctance. I don't believe he is using it now.
