  1. Hey all, Well after just finding out about the alternatives to getting rid of old grafts and raise the hairline,(FUE which will result in pitted scars, a brow lift, or a tissue expander beneath the forehead), I have decided to look for alternative means of removing old grafts, as none of these sound very desirable. Has anyone tried using laser hair removal for old grafts? I know all about LHR as I have used it before and, depending on what company and what type of laser they use, really good or really bad results can be seen. Anyway, has anyone on this forum tried it? I think if it is possible, it would be a heck of a lot better than getting even more scars or big time plastic surgery.

  5. I'm relatively new to the HT game...had a 1200 graft job done by Dr. Shagufta Khan (Con-artist)in San Diego. The results left A LOT to be desired and I am now looking into a second HT in the coming years. I am very interested in Dr. Konior of Chicago, as well as Dr. Rahal of Ottawa. The only problem is I just can't think of how to go abroad to get a HT done. If anyone has done this, let me know how you did it. How much work needs to be taken off, how long did you stay in that country, etc. If only he didn't have his office in Canada, that's where I would def. want to go. His hairlines and density are incredible. Dr. Konior's results seem to be impressive as well. Also, Tricho Closures seem to be the way to go with scar reduction. Do most surgeons do it nowadays? I know that is going to be one of my questions I ask, as I would rather not have another fat scar on the back of my head. Can surgeons also transplant some of the hair onto the old scar to cover it up a little bit? Believe me, this time I am actually doing my research so I do not have a repeat of last time. HT are supposed to change your life...I'm still basically in the same boat I was before I got mine done. Any information that can be shed would be well received. Thank you.

  7. Im not going to even consider getting married til I get my shitty Dr. Khan transplant fixed.
  8. I have actually used a number one and then like kinda let the the hair that runs over the scar stay a little longer. Then I used Dermatch and it seems to do the trick. However I only keep it short because my first HT was terrible and it doesn't look good when it's grown out.
  9. Check out my post on "If you want terrible results, I suggest Dr. Shagufta Khan". That shows what a failed transplant looks like. No density and improper hair flow are just some of the ways in which a HT can be judged as a failure.
  10. Hi all, I'm somewhat new to the HT game...had one over a year ago with the Con Artist Dr. Khan. 1200 grafts and $5 gs later, I am still in need of more work. The thing that was great about getting it done when I did was that I could wear a hat all the time and not really have to worry about anything, as I was in college and worked at a place where hats were acceptable. Now, I am going to be going out in to the work world and realize that that will not be possible anymore. What did you guys do after your hair transplants? Clearly you can't just hide away for six months. Did you just have to go into work, scabs and redness and all? For some (namely me), I'm very concerned with how I look and how others view me. So I'd be worried about the odd looks I'm sure to get. I know in the end it all pays off, but ya. Any suggestions?...other than grow a set

  12. God...I am just jealous of your results. When I look at my craptacular results thanks to Dr. Khan (con artist), it really upsets me to think I could have been all but taken care of in one session. Very nice work. I can't wait to be able to wake up someday and have a full head of hair once again and not have to grab for my hat immediately.
  13. Ya, I hope that within the next 5 years I can have this all resolved. I hate how it looks and don't like getting my picture taken or seeing my reflection. Dr. Khan is a disgrace and, had she not pushed us into it so much and had I not been so willing to just take whatever solution presented itself, I would have never had it done with her. It's really sad to think that all this could have been taken care of in one procedure, and now it has to be 2 for one stupid area, using up precious donor hairs. I REALLY hope my post dissuades others from even considering her. While she is not a Bosley, she certainly should not be sought after.
  14. Dr. Shagufta Khan does hair transplants and is a surgeon. She has offices in San Diego and Chicago. Her work is something to be avoided. I should know.
  15. A 5 and that's generous. She is very pushy and tries to get you to commit too fast and the work she did on me was subpar
  16. Thank you all for the great comments! It really gives me some hope. I do know now the importance of research, although I wish I had realized that a year or so ago. I am happy with the lower hairline she gave me, so that's a plus. Now I just need to work on density. I'm just worried that it will take a long time to accrue the funds needed. I'm hoping that since there is some hair already, there won't need to be as much put in and it won't cost as much.
  17. I currently go to school in Milwaukee and will be staying out here, so Chicago is a skip and a jump away. I am really considering him; I have seen of his work and I was amazed. Then I look at my results and just get pissed cuz there is no reason I couldn't have had similar results.
  18. I have not been back to her office since about 6 months, and I will never step foot in her establishment ever again. She is a total hack and she preys on people who don't know any better. $5000 for these kind of results?! The donor scar isn't terrible, but it isn't great. I'm lucky though, as she could have butchered me. Then I would have been an absolute mess. I just feel like a total schmuck and, while I'm not the only person to have gotten a bad HT, it still sucks.
  19. I have included a few angles and purposefully left them somewhat big so you can see how it looks. They actually make it look a lot better than it is, as in certain lighting it looks like I have almost no hair at all. My first HT was supposedly 1200 grafts, but I don't know how that could be when I see 100000000x better results in other patients with similar amounts. I am really not happy with my results whatsoever. Her technique seems to almost be mini-grafts, which lead to almost no density and coverage. When I showed her a picture of the hair line I would like (included from senior year high school), she said that made me look bald and that she wouldn't do it that way. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the transplant supposed to be what the patient wants and will be happy with? Dr. Kahn really rushed us into getting the surgery done and I really regret it now. I should have done more research and realized that 21 was probably a bit too young to do it and that Dr. Kahn does not get good reviews. I was young and wanted the problem fixed. So instead of filling in the areas that I was losing, she decided to take a mere 1200 grafts and try to make me a completely new hairline. I'm no expert, but I know the area she covered should have easily been 2000+ grafts, and probably more. Also, she did not blend the areas well that meet with the fuller hair, made the hair flow back rather than forward (I don't have a medical doctorate and even I know that hair flows from back to front) and didn't fill in certain areas because, according to her, there was still some hair there (that was pretty much sparse). So here I am, in pretty much the same boat I was before. I sadly have to revert to using cover ups to darken the hairs to give the illusion (not a great one at that) of density, and constantly am having to buzz my head. I know that letting is grow out would not look desirable. Basically, she made me look like I am balding even more than I was because it's a larger area now. I have made it a point to look at men's hair and how hair should look, and it's not like this. So now I am looking at Dr. Konior and wondering how and when I will be able to fix this mess. It just sucks because it totally is a confidence buster.

  21. Hey all. I noticed after my transplant that my "wonderful" surgeon Dr. Khan made my transplanted hair flow more towards the back of my head. Well, any fool can see that natural hair flows forward, towards your forehead. Has anyone else had this or am I the only one who got the big shaft? Can surgeons plant the hair so they have control over which way it flows? I don't even know if I want to go in to her office in December, because I am just going to be upset and tell her how bad of a job she did. PS- I found that if I run my nails over the area, it is bumpy still. Does anyone else have this? If so, does it ever go away?
  22. Tell me how yours turned out. I had 1200 done with her and my results were not all that impressive.
  23. How do you guys finance these hair transplants? I know just 1200 cost my family $5 freakin gs...and the results were pretty much sub par. How do people who get like 7000 afford it???

  25. Bill, Thanks for the information. I am actually probably gonna be staying out here in the Mid-West, so Shapiro would be closer. Basically now, I need to find a doctor who can add density and fullness to my first transplant.
