I had approx 3400 grafts with Woods. I would rate my yield in the 90 percentile and my result excellent. However I agree on average, strip gives better results. I wish it was not so as I feel FUE is less invasive.

I know with my own hair, in different lighting and angles. I can go from looking pretty damn thin, to almost a full head of hair. Multiple shots under multiple lighting conditions may be best. But in general flash shouldn't be used and strong over head ligthing is needed for an accurate assessment.

I was a NW4 by Age 20 Am a NW6 now minus hair transplantation. Dut is definitely working for me. However it is not a miracle drug. I plan to continue using it indefinitely and have cut down to every other day due to cost.

Typically at 6 months a great deal of the hair has poked through but is probably less than half of the ultimate density it will become. Don't under estimate how much the thickening of the hair shafts will help you. For example look at a 1 year old's head. Most likely he has all of his hair but it's still thin whispy baby hair as it thickens the change is dramatic. Basically it's going bald in reverse!

I have gotten nice results from Dut, primarily thickening of existing hair and definite cessastion of any further loss. Strangely on propecia I had sexual side effects (impotence) I have nearly the opposite on Dut. The only side effect is mild gynomastia, which push ups and weight lifting keeps under control. Due to financial constraints I'll be switching to .5 every other day at this point. I took .5 daily for 7 months and am confident .5 every other day will be sufficient.

this is often something of a paraodx. It is true, hair transplanted hair will be more abrupt and coarse than a person with a natural head of hair, but if the density is too sparse, that too will look unnatural. As you will still have the coarse hair, just spaced in a way that looks unnatural. I think there is a leve lof compromise. Maybe slightly less density, fort the hairline, but not so much it just looks like your hairline suffered a forest fire sparing a few thick oaks.

You probably need Keflex In the meantime put neosporin on it.

Both are surgical procedures and this should not be played down. However strip carries more risk. The incision is deeper and nerve damage, disfigurement and wide scarring can result. With reduced laxity, as invariably occurs with strip, the risk of nerve damage rises as your head readjusts to the loss of tissue, the underlying tissue and nerves may not heal and lay as as nature intended. With FUE there are no documented cases of nerve damage. Peripherial transection in the wrong hands is the main risk. With the proper size punch and technique scarring is near invisible with even a buzz cut. The logistics of getting a transplant in the average man's life make FUE inconvienent for many. It is more expensive and time consuming. Most likely there is room for both, but though the dollar amount of strip is less $$ you pay in other ways. Niether is perfect.

Maybe he's not with NHI anymore because he left too many patients with big scars? I'd like to know.

I had a third procedure, and not only did the hair not grow, but all my other hair fall out! Imagine my dismay... I think in rare cases there are strange phenonmenon that they don't understand that we just end up being unlucky enough to experience. One thing that's for sure is I am using Minox for life, and probably Avodart too, to help perserve what I've labored long and hard to obtain.

I was left with a very large and painful scar, and had my life risked because the doctor cut close to an area where my skull was damaged, and I got a skin infection. I researched it and even with these circumstances most thought I can't sue. If I ever get wealthy and it's still possible I'll definitely try to sue, but for now I'm sitting tight. It's a hard fight to win.

First about the hair growing in scars. Not all scars are created equal. I did have good yield in my Head injury scar, very good. This is verified without question by Dr.Wong and Jotronic. The scar was cut out and the grafts counted, so there can be no quesiton in this case. However for some reason the yield in my donor scar has been similar to yours, very poor. I am interested in trying more FUE in my donor scar but my expectations are low. I think most people are wasting their money by getting grafts placed in their donor scar when the yield is so poor and they could probably benefit from it more up top. It is possible with time as the scar matures the yield would be higher. My head injury scar was 14 years old at the time of transplantation. I think many people fool themselves with yield in scar tissue and want to believe it is growing. You must be careful when validating this, it's easy to comb your hair over the scar and convince yourself those hairs are poking out of the scar. This is self deception. The hair around the scar must be pushed away to truly determine hair growing out of the scar. As far as Dr.Woods I feel his prices are much too high and he should learn from other doctors about placement, or perhaps exchange his expertise in extraction. I also think his reasons for canceling you were strange, and some of the behavior exhibited in that drama from Dr.Woods I ended up experiencing myself and others have as well. At this point I feel he should have teamed up with other doctors instead of isolating himself. I am thankful for the work he performed and the excellent yield, but I am not thankful for his sometimes arrogant behavior. The one thing I like about you balloonman, is you insist on facts. In this industry and with hairloss, self deception or outright deception from the sellers of products and surgery are rampant. I think you have a keen ability to get to the truth and cut through the emotions and hype. that's why I'd like to see you post more.

Your coworkers will probably notice, think about it for 15 seconds and never think about it again, except to describe you as the bald dude, to others. Doing something like growing a beard or shaving your head before uh coming out with it, can help soften the blow.

For some reason I didn't hide my transplant from my co-workers. No one has teased me about it, and most think it's cool. If it looks good in the end they'll be impressed, only if it turns out crappy does it become a problem. On the contrary I haven't told some of my friends. I'm not sure why but it was just easier to explain it to certain people.

I had a HT in the late 90s with Dr.Bernstein, around 2001 I had another With Dr.Roy Jones, after this procedure, none of his hair grew and all of Bernstein's fell out. Dr.Bernstein said I must have donor thining but this is not the case. No one has been able to explain what happened. But I'm doing pretty good now after having some FUE and using Avodart.

Wait another few months before gauging results. Also 1200 really isn't much, what area did you cover?

no other FUE doc has before and after pics. Only post op. No pics showing growth. Only Dr.Woods can be trusted until we see proof as far as FUE.
