  1. Hi all, I've been taking Propecia for about a year and a half, and I did not notice any changes in my hairloss (front side of the head, right above the forehead). However, it is possible that if I had not been taking Propecia my hairloss would have been a lot worse, I guess there is no way of knowing. After a year and a half of paying for an expensive drug that seems to give me nothing but side effects (my erection is not as strong as before and harder to maintain), I decided to quit. But it hasn't even been 10 days and I have noticed that I started to los a lot more hair than while I was taking it. Could this be my imagination playing tricks on me? Is it possible that I am undergoing the opposite of the placebo effect? Or is it that the effects of stopping Propecia are immediate? If anyone has had a similar experience please share. Thanks, Luminal

  3. I am 29 and I have been taking Propecia for about a year and a half. I haven't noticed any secondary effects at all. No erectile problems, no lack of libido, etc. However, I've noticed that in my case Propecia hasn't improved my hair loss in any noticeable way. Luminal
  4. I've been taking Propecia for about a year and a half. I haven't really noticed any major change or difference so I'm starting to wonder if it is really worth the 60$ a month. However, it is possible that if I was not taking Propicia my hairloss would be a lot worse. My question is, if Propecia has actually been preventing some of my hairloss and I stopped taking propecia, I will lose that hair that Propecia was preventing from falling right? If later on I notice that Propecia was in fact working, is there any chance that hair will grow back if I re-start taking propecia again? Thanks, Franco

  6. Thank you guys for your quick and comprehensive answers. I feel much relieved. I contacted my Dr. and asked him anyway. I will try to get some pictures soon. This forum is truly a blessing. I started reading it about a year ago, and without it I would be totally lost. Thanks, Luminal
  7. Hello, About 3 months ago I had a rather small hair transplant on the frontal part of my hair where my hair was thinning pretty badly. The doctor told me that I would not really see results until 5 months later. All the scabs are gone now, I was told that some of the hairs that were implanted would stay and that others would fall and a new one would spring from where the old one fell. My concern now is that some areas of my scalp have become itchy and irritated. There are some tiny little bumps that hurt when I touch them. Someone suggested they might be hairs trying to break through the skin towards the surface. Has anybody ever experienced something like this? Should I go see my doctor immediately? Thanks in advance, Luminal
  8. Hello, I am looking for some information about Dutasteride and Finasteride. I know that Dutasteride is more powerful than Finasteride, but are the secondary effects stronger than with Finasteride? Any information you could give me would be a great help. Thanks, Luminal
  9. Hello all, I have a hair loss problem on the front only. Right above my forehead and above my temples. The rest of my head is perfectly fine. I have been taking Propecia for about a year and a half and my hair loss has not stopped but my dermatologist told me to continue taking it because it is the best thing that exists right now. However, I recently went to see a transplant doctor and he told me that neither Minoxidil nor Propecia can restore hair loss in the front part of the scalp and that I could continue taking propecia but i am really wasting my money. Does anybody have any knowledge or experience that could corroborate this? Thanks, Luminal
  10. Hello, I have been taking Propecia for almost 6 months and my hair has stoppoed falling like before. I remember I used to run my fingers through my hair and I'd find 4-5 big hairs stuck on my fingers. I haven't seen any regrowth yet but I'm still very happy with the results. However, I'm having some problems renewing my Propecia prescription, I'm looking into buying online or trying to get my dermatologist to move forward the date of my appointment. Either way it may take one or two weeks, so I wanted to find out from this forum, if anybody knows, what would happen if i stop taking Propecia for a week or 2? Would I start losing more hair? Would I have some more shedding again when I restart? Thanks for your answers, Luminal
  11. Because my hair would become addicted to minoxidil and I'd lose whatever I gain if i stop taking it. Frank
  12. Hi all, A few months ago I was convinced I had to use Rogaine and on an impulse bought a 3 month supply of extra strength Rogaine (5% Minoxidil) from Pfizer over the internet. However, after I found this website I read carefully all the articles regarding Minoxidil and I decided not to use it for several reasons. Now I am about to throw this box to the garbage, for which I paid about 120$ (the period I had to return it already expired a while ago) but then I thought I'd write this message. So if there is anybody in or near Montreal, Quebec who uses Rogaine extra strength and would like a free 3 month supply, I'll be happy to give it to you. My email is datarrpp@yahoo.com Frank
  13. I am 28 and just started taking propecia for about 2 months and a half. I haven't seen any improvements yet but from wha tI have read in this forum and elsewhere, I need to wait at least 6 months to see if it works. 2 weeks ago I stopped taking Propecia for an entire week simply because of a very stressful project at work that kept me way too busy to go to the pharmacy to refill my prescription. So my question is, since I stopped taking finasteride during this week, do I need to start counting the months from scratch? Thanks, Frank
