  1. tricophytic donor closure could work for you if you havent had this before, this is still being evaluated as possibly the best donor area skin closure. This also depends on the way your skin heals, how tort the skin is etc. There could be the possiblilty your scar remains or increases.FUE is also an option, planting the grafts in the scar area.Talk to a good surgeon!Good luck
  2. Sounds like your getting good advice here.Propecia/finasteride may be prescribed, this can stop/slow down your hair loss and may possibly even regrow some hair (but this is unlikely.)Oh,you can also get a newer tablet,i think its called duaesteride?and may be better but i'm not sure? There is some caution as to whether contact by the pregnant female/conception whilst using propecia may contribute to genital deformity of the foetus/unborn child.I think this is very rare and not sure if actually proven? There is also the laser comb which some are raving about but i have never tried it.Think you can buy it for ??250.00 I would say dont go down the hair transplant route yet.At your age you'll be playing catch up game, you may lose then replace then lose etc.I think a surgeon would advise you not to anyway. In years to come there may be more efficient ways to treat hair loss. There is always the shaven/grade 2 haircut you could go for,you may have a shaped head that suits this. You can use camoflages like Dermatch/Toppick/Nanogen etc, these can be very effective but you tend to have a routine of having to apply them daily etc.Anyway, hope this helps.Good luck
  3. Hi i have been emailing dr Damkerng at the Stough clinic in view to visiting in the near future for hair transplant. All i can say is that cost wise its very good, half the UK price. He seems to be upto date with the strip method.Donor closure is by trico suture to hopefully allow for a more discrete linear scar. This depends on the individuals skin and how it reacts to the surgery i guess?I know the cheapest may not always be the best but some UK clinics may not be either.Cost wise? Most things in thailand are nearly half the UK price,so i guess surgery should be too?I would like to think that surgery/plastic surgery is of a very high standard due to the vast amount of gender re-assignement surgery performed.Myself will be having 500 grafts to the crown and hopefully the previous scar revised by trico closure?I trust Dr Damkerng has the artistry and skill to do this.I know he is a plastic surgeon also so i would expect he has good knowledge of how skin reacts to surgery, what is aestheticaly pleasing etc.Anyway, i hope this gives you some reassurance, please let me know how you get on.Good luck.
  4. Hi Pat Thanks for your reply.I have been doing my homework on transplants in bangkok, unfortunately you tend to rely on email discussion and trust the doctor/clinic.I have had 3 strips here in the uk.??4500 total yet am still thinning on the crown.I do understand it can be a catch up game.I usually get 350 grafts for ??1500. in Uk.I know cheapest isnt always the best, that goes with anything i'm sure.I guess most places other than the Uk tend to be cheaper. Will still investigate and let you know if i go to Bangkok.Oh,will have my butt safely planted on a seat at all times!lol
  5. I've had 4 strip transplants in the uk to the crown area but am still thinning.Am considering visiting Bangkok for a 500 graft strip transplant with trico scar closure. The cost is ??700.00 Half the uk cost at least.Has anyone visited Bangkok for this please? Are the surgeons over there competent?
