  1. i use a wash with warm water with lemon juice or apple cider vin. but suprisingly, what has improved my hair greatly was an egg mixed with some rosemary and garlic gives my hair good body, makes it strong and shiny.. of course i do this b4 i shower, and i shampoo afterwards
  2. it might also depend on the water you use. I had no problems at one complex, but when I moved I started to get a very dry scalp, but whenever I flew home to NY (I Live in CA) I had no problems but some home remedies might help a solution of lemon/lime juice and warm water works you could sub with apple cider vin if you want but I also get a mixture off egg rosemary and garlic and let that sit in my hair for 10-15 min before I shower, and it has imporved my dandruff situation by 90% maybe it was the revita, so now I stopped using it so much I went from using it 5 days a week to maybe twice I also switch up my shampoos daily
  3. I was using Rogaine for 4 months before i started using Revita after about 2 weeks of using both, i noticed HUGE dandruff issues like snow flakes i was using head shoulders like twice a day to try to counteract it, but it would only give me temp results. than i found on a home remedies page that vinegar works to stop dandruff and it actually worked! but I use lemon juice or lime juice any acid will generall work i just splash it on and rinse it off, it doesnt do any damage to your head either but now i only use Revita 3x a week. so prevent it I use a differnt head/shoulders everyday with a conditioner as well and it is working quite nicely
  4. so in other words there is a close to nil chance of a birth defect if the male is taking Finasteride during conception, the sensitive stages, or pretty much the entire pregnancy. We just need to keep the woman away from the tablets dust. Of course, if you are concerned, than stop taking it if you are trying to conceive throughout the first 4 months, but it is more of a mental thing. Is that what I am taking from this?
  5. Dr. Reed wow, its awesome to see you on here- no need for apology, you are an excellent doctor and has a great staff (i am just so sorry for being so late that day, but Pam was awesome to sit and talk to!!) I think was just a bit concerned when it comes to understanding huge and important information. Im sure you understand that clients will do research after talking with doctors, heck with having two brothers, both in the medicine field (one being a doctor, a urologist and the other being a Pharm MD) I tend to use them for info whenever I talk with a doctor , just to see what their opinion is.. Unfortunately, hairloss is an extremely sensitive subject to me, and is a joke to them, so talking to them over this was Not an option, so I had to go to the next best thing - good ol' internet, which of course isnt the best source, but helpful, and that is why i had second guessed Proscar, but now I fully and truly understand it, and hopefully anyone else who reads this will talk to their doctor about using Proscar instead of Propecia. i cheerfully take back the 'snappy' comment i will be taking month to month pictures of the results that I will have from using the combo of the both, and I plan on seeing you in 8-12 months!!! Thank you again for being the best at what you do!!
  6. absolutely, with Meshkin I was in and out of the office in 10 minutes, dont get me wrong, he was nice, but i felt he wasnt sincere... When Reed was done talking with me, he asked me if i was satified, and showed true concern Meshkin told me i had 6000 graphs available, but Reed wasnt as optimistic.. he said it was too hard to tell b/c my hair cut was too short, to tell- and i will re-iterate on how he was against immiediate surgery b/c he wanted the best results (that if i got it now , it may look good, but with future hairloss, the good job will look shady...) obvious i was more happy with the office and Reed overall- i just didnt like it when i em,ailed him some concerm over Proscar-- i told him that i had read that proscar and propecia should never be interchanged and his response was " i dont know where or why you looked that up" i trust him overall, but i felt it was a bit snappy- i mean who wouldnt do some research on something.. especially since i am being prescribed medicine that is for prostates- but him being a GREAT dr was quick to say that proscar and propecia are alomst identical, and it would be a cheaper and it will have the sameresults Reed- good Meshkin- good, but i tihnk in it more for $$$, but does want a happy client
  7. last week I got the chance to sit and talk with Dr Reed in La Jolla Ca along with Dr Meshkin in Newporet beach- Dr Reeds office was awesome, i got lost getting there, and his office assistant was super awesome and whne i finally got there, I had a great talk with her- we clicked on a very friendly manner- she told me that they get clients from Ireland, Japan and Austraila- when I sat with Dr Reed, it was a great experience- he was friendly, he asked what I wanted, and we talked- he feels that a transplant right now would not benefit me, b/c i am young and still losing my hair- which i thought was great b/c he wasnt trying to get some $$ out of me- he said i could do it, and look great now, but in 5-10 yrs, the hair i have now, may be gone and it would not look so good- i told him i started rogaine, and he thinks that it is working on me already, b/c he sees small 'fuzzy' hairs on my head- and if i am balding, where the small fuzzies are it should be shinky bald, so he thinks that the rogaine would be great and i should conitnue with it. he laso prescribed me Proscar b/c that will help greatly as well, esp since he says he uses it also. he told me to do the 1/4 of a tablet daily and such and said that something will show in 8-12 months and wants to see me than. he took pics of me, and i had a great ecperince overall.... especially afterward when i looked up Proscar and had additional questions and talked to him via email and he responded the next day... even though he was on vacation. Meshkin was nice, he brought me into his office, showed me a bunch of pics of before and after shots of past clients (one of which was Rick Springfield) she showed me the procedure he would use, in this 10 yr old book, and the procedure was his that he created himself- he was friendly- and showed me other pics saying 'this is what i would do for a first procedure, a second, etc... i told him that i was taking rogaine and will be taking proscar, and it didnt seem to interest him he wanted to scedule the surgery, but i will hold off to see what results rogaine and proscar will do for me- i am optimistic and glad that both of them told me similar things (that since i wanted to get my crown down, that it would not be beneficial b/c the hairloss there is still very possible) both felt that the front would be best, but like i said before, i will hold off jsut to see what the combo of proscar and rogaine will do

  9. i like to joke around and say I look like Brad Pitt, but only hotter.. ppl get a kick out of it my girl hates my short hair here is a pic of us from 2 months ago
  10. Yea, it sucks...but being teased is all about being the younger brother- It was kinda embarassing when I went to visit him at work, and his co-workers thought that I was the older brother..lol but here is a pic, I had just shaved my head actually, I think it looks good, but of course, I would rather have a full head of hair. if you look closely, you can see the lines from the goop procede
  11. Thanks alot!! i will be doing my research, along with asking questions here glad to be a part of this place!
  12. I just wanted to say Hi to all I am glad that it is a slow day at work, and that I found this site!!! I have been looking all over the internet trying to find REAL people with REAL discussions. Not just people who work for companies that are just trying to promote their (crappy)products I have learned so much in just the little time i spent here today alone (4 hours i guess isnt little, but still) I think i rank about a 5 on the scale I am 28 and thinning - since I was 22 and like all of you guys, I dont like it, I have been busted on by my brother for years (who of course has a full head of hair)and hate it I have used Hairgenesis which pretty much slowed things down, but of course, nothing great, or even good and than on a whim (thinking it was only $20... but later finding out that it was $20 for S&H only) I tried Proced- which is absolute junk- all it did was goop up my hair and make it look all knotted up I look forward to doing alot of research here- thinking about it, I will probably be doing more research here than I have ever for any school project I live in Huntington Beach in CA and I plan on looking at Reed in Lajolla (I have read good things about him so far) and Meshkin, but I have only seen one person speak of him so far, and even though he is super close to me, I will be more than willing and happy to drive and hour to La Jolla hope to talk to you guys soon-
